|Minimum Stay||7 - 14 nights|
This attractive and luxurious villa is located at about 1 km from the Medieval Mougins and about 7km from the cosmopolitan bathing resort Cannes. From the covered patio, overgrown with grapevines and kiwis there´s a view of the wonderful, enclosed garden (4000m2) which at night is romantically illuminated. At your disposal you also have a beautiful swimming pool(12x6m) with a Roman staircase, a pool house with refrigerator, barbecue, a badminton field, table tennis table and jeu de boules court. In the enclosed garden there is ample parking. The house is provided with airconditioning in every room, wireless Internet connection and satellite flatscreen TV. 10 golf courses nearby.
- Caretaker will welcome you.
- One morning or afternoon per week maintenance of the garden will take place.
Unfortunately we only can be in Mougins for a limited number of weeks per year. To keep the property perfectly in shape, we decided to rent it out.
Alex Timmermans purchased this villa in 2002
After having seen many, many villas, we fell in love with 'La Salamandre' at first sight. And after quite some years now, it is still our paradise.
During our busy professional lives, we don't always have enough time to spend with friends. For us, La Salamandre with all its inviting terraces offers the perfect possibility to catch up.
We had a great celebration week in June with 6 adults and 5 children ( 1-9Y ). The House is beautiful and very well situated in a quiet area, with a huge garden where children can play and explore.
The lovely Pool is big and fresh ( saltwater ) and of course the centre of activities. All though we did play table tennis, badminton, and football ( France Euro2016 ). Even a game of pool one afternoon when it rained. The rest of the week was sunny and in the end hot. Thanks for AC in the bedrooms.
The Kitchen is well equipped and we used the new Barbecue Grill more or less every evening for our family dinner on the patio with nice view.
Bedooms & Bathrooms are very fresh.
We can very much recommend the Villa Salamandre , and both Alex & the Arnolds are very easy and supportive.
We hope to come back some day. Many Thanks from Sweden :-)
We had a lovely wintry stay in La Salamandre with our two kids (10 and 5) and one grandparent. The house is very cosy when inside (this was often for us as our stay was during a very rainy February week) with games and an open fire. But once the sun comes out, it is close to the seaside for sunny wintry walks in Cannes or Mougins, or just to play football and table tennis in the garden. It felt like a home from home and we hope to come again in the spring/summer.
Great spacious house with a lovely big garden with a nice pool. We stayed here with our family of 7. The people that welcomed us were very nice and the house was very comfortable. We certainly want to go back to this house!
8 of us stayed at this villa last month. we had an amazing time and thought the villa was beautiful. The owner was very polite and helpful and we were greeted by a lovely lady who looks after the villa.
The gardens and pool area are incredible and the best we have ever had. the only down side was that there is no aircon, however France was experiencing a heat wave whilst we were there. The villa is very well equipped and we spent most evenings in, cooking big family meals and using the BBQ. The area is lovely and very close to Cannes.
We went to a lovely restaurant called villa paridiso which is only a 5min drive away. lovely service and great food.
we would love to come back!!

The best vacation ever has just been spent in La Salamandre in Mougins! Lovely pool and surrounding garden. Well equipped villa with a beautiful patio outside where the evenings were spent. We were a party of 10 grown ups and 4 infants from Sweden and the villa and the pool were definitely large enough for all of us! Many thanks from Sweden!
We have just returned home from a 4-week stay in this magnificent home. We were in a group of 12 people - 5 adults and 7 kids ages 2months to 8 years. I can't be more positive about our holiday. First, the house has a lot of character, a kitchen any woman can only dream of, and it is very spacious (please note that one of the interconnected bedrooms is best for teenagers or older kids and not suitable for small kids, elderly people and those demanding a lot of space and comport ;). Second, the garden is extremely spacious and beautiful, with many tall trees that provide a lot of shade, with 2 squirrels living on one of the pine trees. Third, the neighbourhood is very quiet, so we did not hear any noisy groups near us. Fourth, it is very near to the old town of Mougins with picturesque streets, beautiful views and excellent restaurants. The house is only 15 minutes away from Cannes and 30 minutes to Nice airport. And, of course, I cannot but mention the gardener Ken, who was also our neighbour, who was a great help in every possible matter. Many thanks to Alex for sharing the house with us. We fell in love with Mougins and are now planning to relocate there. So, Alex and Ken, we should get together for a barbecue when we come over!
Mougins is without doubt one of the most wonderful places to visit on the Côte d'Azur. Only 15 minutes from Cannes, this superb medieval village is set amongst pines, olives and Cyprus trees. Surrounded by forests (the Valmasque forest covers 427 hectares) Mougins has kept the quality of its environment intact, and offers visitors, from the height of 260 metres, a panoramic view of the 'baie de Cannes', the Lérins islands, Grasse and the 'Préalpes'.
As soon as you arrive in the village, you will be seduced by the charm of the narrow roads, bordered by colourful flowers and superb ancient houses. Picturesque door-ways with each stone carefully restored, beautifully designed window-frames... there's a delightful detail everywhere you look!
With the imprint of the past subtly conserved, the harmony of the colours and quality of light has seduced many artists and celebrities who have chosen to stay in Mougins, including Picasso (who spent the last 15 years of his life here).
Golf: There are many golf courses in and around Mougins. One of the prestigious golf courses of France (Royal Mougins) is located one kilometre from La Salamandre.
