We Will Be Back!!

  • 5 of 5

The most relaxing vacation we've had in a long time. Very private and quiet. The weather was perfect and the water was perfect for swimming. It was extra nice to have a dock to moor the boat up to. We spent a lot of time on the dock and in the water. Our old lab with bad hips was easily able to walk down into the lake and swim all he wanted. The house was very clean and comfortable for 6 adults. There were plenty of restaurants nearby, but we chose to cook all of our meals. The kitchen was very accommodating for all of our needs. Very nice grocery stores just a few miles away. Dr Hutchins and his family were very nice and more than accommodating. We can't wait to come back to the Cozy Cottage, and hopefully stay much longer. To the Hutchins family, Thank You, we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Owner's Response: It appears that this family has found our place to be the ideal vacation spot, just as my family did years ago. Lake Norman has been a best kept secret, but the word is getting out.

Great place

  • 5 of 5

This is a great home right on the lake. It's so cute and clean. I will stay there again. Only thing I didn't like was that there were so many spiders in and out of the house. I don't think they can control that but I hate spiders and having them so close was freaking me out. I really did like this place. Thank you for everything.

Owner's Response: We are glad she liked Cozy Cottage in spite of the spiders. All lake places have spiders, but I rarely see one inside. They like to spin their webs on the outside of the windows. I am getting a backpack sprayer to do a blitz on the window frames. In 30 years of ownership of Cozy Cottage and 42 years at The Hideaway next door I have never seen a black widow or brown recluse spider at either place or known of anyone getting bitten by a spider. It is my understanding that anywhere on this planet you are never more than 5 feet from a spider. Fortunately, they are mostly harmless. However, for aesthetic reasons we will declare war on this species.

Would not recommend

  • 2 of 5

Though the owner was very friendly and timely with communication...I would not say the cottage was very cozy. Bugs EVERYWHERE, may want to consider getting an exterminator in the house. Saggy couches, outdated and barely working appliances, and the front door handle constantly fell off?!?!? The only perk was once you were out of the house on the dock. Overall not an ideal vacation spot.

Owner's Response: This review reveals much more about this recent guest than it does about the property. It cost me a lot of money to get the place back in order after she and her three huge unruly dogs left. We never see any bugs in the cottage, and our cleaning crew has been very diligent in keeping the place clean and the appliances in good working order.
