Casa Perás is a very nicely designed and totally renovated country house, situated in the heart of the agricultural Catalonia. The house is surrounded by lawn and it is peacefully situated with only a few farms in sight. Nevertheless, the nearest village with a grocery store, café/restaurant, a bakery and a butcher is within walking distance. The house is characterised by detailed and careful decoration; everything has been thought of! On the ground floor is a lounge with fireplace and a large flat screen and a bedroom. On the second floor is 4 rooms
and a huge open kitchen/dining area.
The outdoor area is well used with the swimming pool and beach beds in one side of the garden and with the covered terrace, excellent on hot Catalan summer days, at the other. Additionally, the BBQ and the outdoor kitchen provide you with perfect conditions for outside cooking and dining. From the garden, there is a nice view over the fields and on the other side, the Pyrenees rise in the horizon.
Catalonia - Spain: Catalonia, Spain has a distinct regional identity that borrows little form the rest of Spain. Catalans have their own language, and are intensely proud of their unique art, cuisine, folklore and long history. Ask the Catalans themselves and many will tell you that Catalonia is not a region but a nation. Not surprisingly, rivalry between the Catalans and the rest of Spain is an ongoing part of this country's history.
Catalans pride themselves on good eating too, and you will find some of Spain's finest restaurants here. Catalan food is typically Mediterranean, featuring olive oil as its staple component. As the region is so geographically diverse, it provides a variety of fresh high quality meat, poultry, game, seafood, fruit and vegetables and a great variety of wild mushrooms.
All in all Catalonia offers no end of opportunities for day trips and adventures, that together with its excellent communications, makes of Catalonia a top-class tourist destination in Europe.
Central Catalonia: Central Catalonia is situated where the Llobregat-river winds it is way from the Pyrenees down towards Barcelona. It is not heavily populated, and in the small town and villages you blend in with local life. The region is ideal for families or groups, who want a diversified vacation.
Most of all however, the region has, we found out, vacation houses of very high standard, carefully nursed by the owners, as they have been in the family for centuries, previously used for labour, in the days where agriculture needed more man-power, with all facilities you could think of, inside as well as outside. So many of the days, the car stayed in the carport and the time went with playing, swimming, reading and some nice meals from the barbecue accompanied with a glass of wine.
The landscape at the entrance to the Pyrenees is dominated by small rivers, hills, fields and forest. From almost any point, you have view to the steep Pyrenees that raise in the distance.
Activities: Finally Catalonia offers a wide range of activities to suit all ages and levels of fitness: Skiing (in winter), swimming, horse back riding, cycling, hiking, golfing, ... there are endless possibilities.
We offer a vacation in your particular pace, where you blend in with the open-minded and friendly Catalans. Enjoy the silence in the small hills in the pre-Pyrenees. Enjoy sports and outdoor activities as walking, canoeing, beach life at the Costa Brava Coast or mountain biking. Or scamper about in the lively street- and café life in the Catalan towns. which together with its excellent communications, makes of Catalonia a top-class tourist destination in Europe.
Or how about watching a football match along with 98.917 other spectators on FC Barcelona's legendary Camp Nou ? The best advise is to come to Catalonia, Spain and see for yourself.
In this part of Catalonia (Costa Brava Coast & Barcelona) is also plenty of great beaches!
