About Chris O'Shea
Chris and Sue moved to Kettering with their dog Jasper in 2013 after falling in love with the Channel and Bruny Island region on earlier visits. In 2015 we added George to our family. We love spending time on our property, taking the dogs for local walks and partaking of the local cafe, restaurant and winery offerings. We also love going for drives around the region, especially the coastal loop road south of Kettering through to the Huon Valley and beyond, via Eggs and Bacon bay and Cygnet. We also enjoy taking part in the many markets, festivals and events around Tasmania each year. We would love to share our little piece of paradise with you.
Chris O'Shea purchased this Cottage in 2011
Why Chris O'Shea chose Kettering
We made a few trips to Tasmania over a couple of years looking for a place to settle. We chose this property because of its elevated bush setting, beauty, peacefulness, views and easy access to the Kettering Marina and other coastal locations. It is only 30-40 minutes to Hobart and is a great base to explore Bruny Island, the D'Entrecasteaux Channel and Huon Valley regions. This property has improved our sense of peace, health and happiness.
What makes this Cottage unique
We love the views to Mt. Wellington, North West Bay and over the D'Entrecasteaux Channel to Bruny Island. We love that we're so close to the Bruny Island Ferry and travel there often. We love the garden, landscape and wildlife that greet us at the start and end of our days.

EXQUISITE & RELAXING
Chris & Sue have thought of everything within the cottage, we felt very relaxed.
Upon arrival there was a letter welcoming my partner & I, with the most amazing box of chocolates you've even seen also a very helpful folder with local attractions & more.
The cottage is packed with everything you need & has the most beautiful panoramic views.
We will be back.
Thank you Chris & Sue.
Thanks so much Lara and Peter. It was our pleasure. We were touched by your lovely note. Best regards. Chris & Sue.
The Channel and Bruny Island region is chock full of things to do, see, eat and drink.
Around Kettering, we have both the Steam House and Bruny Gateway Cafes, Pashas Indian Restaurant, the Peppermint Bay Restaurant in Woodbridge and of course the famous Nutpatch Chocolatier. For a local fine dining experience, we recommend Howden Villa in Howden, near Margate (15 minutes drive).
Our Bruny Island favourites include Bruny Island Cheeses, Get Shucked Oysters, Bruny Island Premium Wines (ie. dining, tastings, sales), the South Bruny Lighthouse, the House of Whiskey and of course the Bruny Island Cruises run by Pennicott Adventures, which is a must do.
Further afield, you have the Huon Valley and far south boasting great local produce, forest & mountain trails and beautiful coastal scenery.
