Franklin Farms and Vineyard is located West of Potosi and East of Steeleville. Nestled in the middle of the Mark Twain National Forest, the 100 acre farm allows you to get lost in the peace and serenity of nature without giving up the modern conveniences of home.
The farm orginated in the late 1800's after the civil war. We have the original land deed signed by Ulysses S. Grant.
In 1998 the logs from the original homestead were use to construct the home that now exists. In 2011, the construction of the vineyard began
The house has 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. It also has a large living room with a loft, full kitchen and dining area. Relax on the screened-in front porch while listening to the Hoot Owls and Whippoorwills. There are 2 small ponds that are a short hike from the house and a spring-fed creek is nearby.

A good place for families to reconnect, get away from it all and enjoy nature.
Spacious story and a half log/rustic house centered on 100 acres, with lots of nature to explore. The unspoiled darkness makes the moon and stars so bright and look so close you can almost touch them.
Enjoy the peace and serenity of being away from it all.
Far enough away from any towns, but close enough to go and grab breakfast or dinner. Beautiful home and property!!!
Spent a relaxing weekend literally away from it all. Modernized house/cabin is tucked deep in the Mark Twain National Forest far away from any distractions. It's just you and mother nature. You will hate to leave this lovely home despite much to do in the area. We spent a whole day enjoying the trails, vineyard, and the screened-in porch forgoing other plans that we had made. Too beautiful to leave. If you like peace and solitude in a historic setting, you won't be disappointed.
We selected this property, because we wanted a "home away from home" while in Missouri. We knew our schedule would be busy, with only 3 days to do everything planned, so we wanted a place to come home to, where we could just be ourselves and relax and visit (hadn't seen each other for 3 years). We were very pleased with the accommodations, and I was thrilled that there was no cell service or phone to steal precious time away!! That may have freaked some out, but it was a plus for me! We thoroughly enjoyed the precious little time we spent at the cabin, it was the frosting on the cake for us. We were surprised that the owner shared the cabin with us, like a duplex, but we weren't bothered by that .. she was a gracious host. She was pressing grapes when we arrived .. how cool is that?! It was farther out than we expected, but it was really a great get-away for the 3 of us (Mom from Atlanta, Son & Wife from Seattle). It was too hot to enjoy the firepit, but we BBQ'd the last night, can't do that in a Hotel! Thanks, Stephanie, for sharing your home with us, and we wish you great success with your vineyard & winery. Thanks for the grape jelly! Your Friend, Kathy
The house was perfect for our family of 3 adult couples. We took advantage of the full kitchen eating in for several meals, loved the screened in porch, star gazing outdoors, blackberry picking and comfortable beds! Only 30 minutes to the canoe rental where we floated the Courtois River. Could see using the fire pit if it had been a bit cooler. Maybe next time!
My family and I had a relaxing vacation in this beautiful, historic Missouri getaway. The farm is huge and big enough to explore, hike, fish, and even play in the creek. It was a short drive to Trout Lodge (which is an entire day of fun), Johnson Shut-ins, Elephant Rock, and Steelville. Highly recommended if you want to have fun with your family and get some relaxing in!
Excellent place to enjoy for a weekend. This place has everything you could need! Very clean and in good repair. Will return again next year. Thank you Stephanie!
