Why Mildred chose Dorado

We had been searching for a beachfront property in Breñas for years and this his exactly what we dreamed for!

We love the beach, the privacy, we play golf and the views are breathtaking.

What makes this townhome unique

Private, gated beach community. Very safe area. Close to movie theaters, great restaurants and only 20 miles from San Juan.

Greatest vacation experience of our lives!

where to begin?! My wife and I are from San Fransisco, CA , and we will be back to stay at this condo! To those who want a couple sentences, You WILL leave this property wishing you had stayed longer! It's worth every penny and then some. If you want serenity ,beauty and safety, stay here! Also Mildred is one of the most kind and trustworthy people I have ever met!

The property: The pictures do not do it justice. The view is spectacular, you can open all of the windows and doors, and the patio is 3 levels!!!! We spent the most of our time out on the patio, reading, or the private beach which is SO CLOSE! I've stayed in beachfront condos in Hawaii, and Alaska, and this blows the others away. Why? Not only do you have the private beach the ocean view (the coast directly below is rock, but that's doesn't take anything away, I just want to be thorough with my description) but you also have a golf course next door, which as soon as the sun begins to set is vacant. My wife, friends and I took full advantage of this and laid on the grass to star gaze!

The patio is amazing! The lights (the switch for the lower deck lights is next to the lights on the second deck to the right) make dinners on the deck so romantic! We celebrated my wife's birthday by grilling (the have a gas grill there) and eating on the deck.

The owner: she was so kind a helpful! She treated us like family. My wife met her family for the first time on this trip and Mildred cared enough to ask how it went! Also, so I had the lame idea of staying in old San Juan for the last 3 nights of our stay in PR so we would be closer to the bio bay and El Yunque (both are must experiences, but skip paying the visitor center fee and just keep driving to the tower and then the la Mina after falls, they are clearly marked). Our experience staying in old San Juan was horrible. I called and asked Mildred if she had any ideas, and she called some friends and helped us! This is a day AFTER we left her condo! She is so willing to help and help you enjoy your stay in Puerto Rico because she kind, and she loves her home island of Puerto Rico!

I feel so strongly about standing by her integrity and kindness that I would personally vouch for her! If the property wasn't outstanding enough, having her. But if you can probably just read every other review on here.

Top 10 Reasons this is the Best and Closest True Oceanfront Home

  • 5 of 5

We travel as a family back to the Island to visit and vacation and we always VRBO amazing waterfront properties but here are our Families Top 10 Reasons this is the Best Oceanfront Villa on the Northside of Puerto Rico

1-Waves crashing outside your patio doors provide an amazing soul calming sound, stay here and you will understand and feel it

2-everyone should get to experience awakening and as soon as you open your eyes, you seeing the beautiful blue ocean outside your master bedroom and living room, it makes your vacation stress less every morning

3-Privacy and Security on par with US Resort security

Being a native of the island I feel safe pretty much everywhere but if your a tourist you wil appreciate knowing their is armed guards security gated 24/7

4-Expansive Patio allows us to grill outside and have dinner oceanview which is just amazing and impressive for our girls 12/11, surely we created some of the best vacation memories staying here

5-Convenient 7 min drive to Grocery Store,Starbucks with a DRIVE THRU, an incredible impressive Italian restaurant I also reviewed here on TA, fast food American and a breakfast place that ( be warned , takes entirely too long to make a breakfast sandwich) and brand new Krispy Kreme with a hour long wait

6- Easy access out of San Juan via the expressway lanes to Dorado, highly recommend you avoid driving back this way around 5-6:30 but if you do take the toll lane back from San Juan and exit Dorado, multiple routes back to San Juan via expressway or Number 2 waterview highway ( use Waze App works great but GPS updates slower)

7- Covenient to several landmarks like Cara Del Indio, Arecibo Observatory , Batey Ziplines, Mar Chiquita Beach, it's longer ride to El Yunque but San Juan trips for kids yield huge poke' stops around El Morro and El Viejo San Juan

8- Home has access to a secluded private beach, incredible when seas calm beach area for kids and adults and convenient to be a :30 second walk to your place where owner has beach chairs, noddles, a kids kayak, beach coolers and other fun beach and entertainment items

9-Home sleeps 4 teens or children in hugely comfortable bunk beds, Master has an incredulous comfortable King bed facing the ocean, and all rooms have room darkening blinds that blocks out all the ocean glare and light if you want to sleep in

10-The Owner, Mildred... Treats you like Family, If your looking to Create Memories to Last a LifeTime, Rent this for your Family!

Incredibly marvelous hosts, breathtaking views, lovely beach house!

  • 5 of 5

Okay, we had read all the glowing reviews about how Mildred and Jacob practically walk on water as the ultimate hosts-- and lo and behold: it's all TRUE. There cannot be three nicer and more hospitable VRBO owners on the planet than Mildred, Jacob and their daughter Isabel.

Nearing arrival, we called Mildred and she guided us into their secluded property, located in a very safe area and also in a gated beach community. She and Jacob were there to greet us with open arms, and we immediately knew we had "friends and family" in Puerto Rico. This first impression was confirmed repeatedly throughout our week in PR.

There are no words that can adequately describe the views from the living room, the back deck, and master bedroom. Even pictures can't do it justice. The manicured green of one of the three area golf courses to the left, the awesome crashing white waves in front of you, the palm trees overhead... well, as I told M&J, it's just the stuff vacation dreams are made of.

We probably spent two hours a night out on that serene deck, basking in the pure luxury of such an idyllic Hawaii-like setting. Beds were comfortable, and the pantry is stocked with everything we thought we'd have to buy at the store other than food-- and condiments, olives, etc already in the fridge. Lots of toys like boogie boards, even a kayak-- my only recommendation is snorkeling equipment, although I had brought my own.

When we had an problem with one of the air conditioning units, M&J had their trusted repair guy out immediately. ( I understand such prompt repairmen service is unheard of in PR).

I'm a golfer, and Jacob used his membership at the Dorado Beach Resort and Club to get me significantly discounted rates. I LOVED playing all three courses, and all are excellent-- but especially the East course, a TPC Championship Course that I practically had to Promise Jacob I would choose at least once-- far and away his favorite. And yes, it's absolutely spectacular, ---the majority of holes with gorgeous ocean views and finely manicured everywhere by the army of groundskeepers. But I also loved finishing the 12th hole on Pineapple and hopping up onto our private deck and having a leisurely coffee with family before heading on to 13.😀򐀊

Did I mention that M&J are incredible hosts? They gave us great recommendations on everything from nearby restaurants to the best beaches. I can't imagine staying anywhere else on future visits to Puerto Rico!

Beautiful location and great host

  • 4 of 5

Great view of the ocean and the owner was excellent to deal with. She was very accommodating and helpful. We are a family of four, kids are 9 and 11.

This is an end of the street duplex that is attached on one side and looks out onto a golf course on the other. Unfortunately, that view is soured a bit by the old abandoned hotel there. But, after the first day we didn't notice that any more because the rest of the place and views were so lovely.

This place is located in a gated community near, but completely separate from, the Ritz Reserve. It is more of a locals community. Some homes in the community were a bit rustic - stray cats around, not totally groomed, lizards, etc. But, in total it was a nice spot and the other people in the community were friendly.

The inside of the unit was very nice. The furnishings are as shown and it is travertine and tile throughout. It had a beach cottage feel. We were there in the summer and the downstairs AC was not all that great. So plan to keep windows and doors open during the day or head to the beach. The wifi worked fine and TV access was good.

The beach was nice, and close. But the close access had an unusual walkway that required you to hop down from a concrete walk onto the beach and then a big step up on the way back. It was no big deal but if you aren't fit, then you will have to walk further down the road to another access. There were some fish in the private beach area and our young kids had a blast snorkeling and swimming there.

The kitchen was small but serviceable. My wife didn't consider it a great kitchen but found it okay for working in. For example, the silverware is not in a drawer but rather a Rubbermaid box in a large cabinet under the counter. The stove and fridge were okay, etc. you had access to all you would need for a beach trip though - cooler, blender, etc

The master bedroom is very nice. The bedroom ACs work great.

The owner was excellent. She was very accommodating and very helpful. She gave a list of helpful tips and restaurants. We really enjoyed eating at KGB in a nearby plaza and Encanto at the Ritz.

All in all a very nice property.

Wonderful, spectacular and breathtaking!!!!

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful property in a very private location. Mildred and Jacob were very, very accommodating. They are warm and genuine, and provided us with great recommendations for sightseeing and dining. We will most definitely come back someday. The entire experience was first class. The view is spectacular---can't even describe it!!! The house was spotless--much better than staying in a pricey hotel. Thanks Mildred and Jacob for a wonderful stay!!

Sleepy Hollow

This property deserves five stars

  • 5 of 5

It's not the most luxurious place we've ever stayed at. Not the biggest; the second bedroom is small. Not even the most well appointed. But it's just perfect. Right on the ocean. Not near the ocean. Right on it. If you don't like the sound of waves crashing (who doesn't) this very special home is not for you. Between the location, the graciousness of the owner, the stunning beauty of the view, and the value, this is why VRBO was created. You could stay just up the road at the Ritz Carlton and spend thousands more. Or, you can just make dinner reservations there every night and eat like a king. Dare I say it's a VRBO signature property. (Is there such a thing?)
