We have enjoyed traveling and exploring the US and many Countries overseas. The North shore of Minnesota has always been a special place with magnificent beauty. We're now able to spend time and share this property with friends, family and you!
Todd Robinett purchased this house in 2013
Lutsen Lookout was built for luxury and privacy while maximizing the views or Lake Superior. Lutsen Lookout is a very comfortable 2600 sq ft home with an open design. It's located on 5.2 private acres of pristine land and surrounded by 100's of acres of State and Federal land. Nearby restaurants, bars, shopping areas and activities make it an ideal location. You can cross county ski, hike and snowmobile right from the front door. Due to the remote access, all-wheel or 4-wheel drive is required for winter rentals.
Located on a snowmobile trail with easy access to groomed cross county skiing and downhill skiing at the Lutsen Mountain. For warmer weather enjoy the nearby Lake Superior Hiking Trail, the Gitchee Gumee bike trail, Gondola rides the Alpine Slide or leisurely walks along Lake Superior beaches. Surrounded by woods, privacy and wildlife. Ideal for 2-3 families or couples. Nearby restaurants include Papa Charlies (2 miles), Lutsen Lodge (2 miles), Moguls Grille and Tap Room (2 miles), Coho Cafe (7 miles), Cascade Lodge (10 miles) and some great brew pubs and restaurants in Grand Marias (19 miles) ... and coming soon (2015) the North Shore Winery ... just a mile away.
Great location as a home base to explore the North Shore! The property is well-maintained, spacious and private. Very beautiful views. Two minute drive up to the ski hill, if that interests you. Responsive owners. Highly recommend this home.
We had a terrific time at this place. Many incredible attributes. Probably good for 8 friends but I can definitely say that you could have 10 total if you are good friends. Snoring could be a problem! Only 2 separate bedrooms but we had 8 of us and it was awesome. Todd is (owner) a great guy to deal with. At the end of the day, we had a blast and I would say this is the best place we have stayed around Lutsen!
Highly recommend this option to anyone considering it. The Owners were responsive and a joy to work with before and during our stay. The Cabin is outfitted with all the amenities you'd expect from a high-end hotel. Secluded, private location makes it perfect for a low-key retreat, yet located close to all attractions. 2 minutes to the chair lifts and blocks away to the winery! Excellent overall experience!
What a beautiful cabin with such great amenities! Myself and 9 friends stayed at the Lutsen Lookout for our snowboarding trip and had a blast! We were breath taken by the large space in the living room, fire pit, kitchen, outside patio, bedrooms, bathrooms, and more! The decor was really cozy and made me feel at home. The attention to detail information provided to us prior to arriving on how to use all the amenities including Wifi, electronics/screen tv/sound system, kitchen supplies, trash disposal, and clean up was greatly appreciated! There were also tons of fun games to play from board games to chess/checkers/tic tac toe, and more. We were never bored during our visit!
There was also some bird seeds in the porch area where we laid out on the patio and saw birds come eat. Even squirrels joined in! While watching the birds eat, we also saw two beautiful deers come by the cabin for 15-20 mins - it was a fascinating sight to see!
Everything was really easy to find and when I had a couple questions and called the care taker she responded right away. This place is truly beautiful with a lot of great amenities and all my friends hope to return next year!
We stayed at Lusten Lookout with 4 couples (8 ppl total) over a long weekend and it couldn't have been better! The cabin is right by the ski mountains and the North Shore Winery where we saw some live music on Saturday night (both within a 5 min drive). We saw lots of wildlife- birds, deer, squirrels, etc. right in the backyard and a BEAUTIFUL view of sunrise, sunset and the lake. The cabin was equipped with everything we could have needed - chess, checkers, playing cards, 4 sets of snowshoes, a crockpot, pots and pans, many dishes and to top it all off it is VERY clean. I am a clean freak and I was very impressed with state of the cabin and the towels provided. Todd was very responsive and we knew he would be available if there was anything we needed but everything went very smoothly! We drove up to Grand Marais for an afternoon as well and explored the Cascade River State Park, went snowshoeing, had a beer at to the Voyageur Brewery and watched sunset at Artist's Point. I would highly recommend this property to any group looking for a fun weekend getaway!
6 of us spent a long weekend at Lutsen Lookout and had a fabulous time. The place is amazing and has beautiful, colorful views right out the windows! The owner was very attentive to us, promptly answering emails and any questions, plus checking in to make sure all was well while we were there. The kitchen had everything we could've wanted (waffle maker, rice cooker, lots of gadgets). We enjoyed several bonfires right out back. The bathrooms are supplied with nice, luxury style soaps and shampoos. An added bonus is the newly-opened North Shore Winery is within walking distance! We strolled down there Sunday late afternoon and had a great time.
Approximately half-way between the Lutsen Resort on Highway 61 and Lutsen Mountain Ski Resort. Beautiful views of Lake Superior. Surrounded by Minnesota Scientific and Natural Area (SNA) and Superior National Forrest as well as some private land.
