The Vernelle house is located in the park of the 'Château des Ormeaux' (it is a outbuilding of 'Château des Ormeaux') on the 'route des vignobles', near part of the Amboise agglomeration (6 kilometers from the Château d'Amboise).
A bit of history: The 'Château des Ormeaux' close to the Vernelle house was built during the reign of Charles X. The original Château was built on Paul Scaron's lands in the 17th century. Before marrying Louis XIV, the marquise de Maintenon was married to Paul Scaron.
The Vernelle House accommodation is a beautiful 17th century construction. It was completely renovated in 2013. It is a fine example of traditional wine grower's house surrounded by a terrace.
You will be charmed by the subtle mix of contemporary and 18th century decoration styles. The ground floor is composed of a spacious open kitchen with dining area and extensive work surfaces. The living room is large and comfortable with a TV and desk area. The sofa converts to a small double bed. For your great comfort, there is a ground floor WC.
The upper floor consists of two independant bedrooms (Queen size beds) with en suite bathrooms and WC.
The outdoor terrace comes equipped with a charcoal barbecue for outdoor meals in the shade of two lime trees.
The Vernelle will charm you by its peaceful setting with views over bucolic countryside.
We were delighted by the 'Château des Ormeaux' as well as its park and its countryside. We decided to buy it in June 2012. It is a haven of peace, right in the middle of the Loire Valley. Living there is great and delightful. Between June 2012 and July 2013, we renovated the Vernelle, which is a very pleasant house in the park of the castle.
Pascale REISINGER HOUDAYER purchased this house in 2012
We were two couples who spent 2 weeks at La Vernelle.
La Vernelle ticked all the boxes for us. It is a roomy house which has been very tastefully decorated and upgraded to modern standards, is well equipped and includes a spacious terrace. Pascale, the owner of La Vernelle, is very welcoming and helpful and easily contactable.
The house is in the grounds of Pascale's Chateau, in nice surroundings and is very private.
It is situated beside Nazelle Negron with bakery, pharmacy. It is about 8 Km from Amboise and a short drive to the nearest supermarket.
We brought our bikes with us and cycled every day. The cycle into Amboise is very easy. The Gite is located beside the Loire a Velo and several cycle loops. Information on the cycle loops is available in the tourist office in Amboise. Apart from our trips to the supermarket we did not use the car during our stay.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Vernelle and highly recommend it for a holiday in the Amboise region.
During our three week trip to France, we stayed in five different VRBO houses. While each was special in its own way, my husband and I agreed this was our favorite. The house is stunningly renovated, beautifully decorated, and filled with quirky and special touches. In person, it looks even better than the pictures. It is also centrally located to the chateaux of the Loire Valley, and a quick drive to the historical sights, shops, and restaurants of Amboise. In addition, the host is lovely, kind and accommodating. The grounds of her beautiful chateau are also open for guests to explore. We could not have hoped for a better finale to our trip!
We were a group of 2 couples from the USA visiting castles for a week in the Loire valley. This house was perfect! The owner, Pascale, decorated the house herself, and did a wonderfully professional job. The house was comfortable, roomy, and had every amenity that one could want. It was convenient to every place we visited, and was easy to find (with my GPS). Pascale was most helpful when called upon and knew the area very well, and all her recommendations were spot on. I would recommend this house for all vacationers - it's lovely and most charming, not to mention comfortable. P. S. We fell in love with her dog - a wire-haired dachshund named Jouflou!
Sehr viel Infomaterial vorhanden.
We loved La Vernelle - beautiful, quiet and comfortable. Artistic interior with a truly harmonious spirit. Shows attention to detail and the loving touch by the owner who we understand designed the interior personally. We felt comfortable and as if at home. Pascale has been very discreet and at the same time available to advise where to go, what to see, where to taste French cuisine. All recommendations by her proved to be excellent. Booking was no issue at all, easy communication and organization. The house is also very conveniently located in the Loire valley by car - all castles are within a max of 1 hour drive or less. Lovely garden. We'll remember the morning coffee and the evening wine there while having interesting chats with our friends. Thank you, Pascale.
The Vernelle House was wonderful! We stayed for 12 nights and loved every minute. This is one of the most elegant and yet comfortable homes I've ever stayed in -- including my own. We loved the peace and quiet of the country and enjoyed visiting the donkey and goat every day. The owners were lovely and we enjoyed talking with them; they respected our privacy but were helpful with information and recommendations. There are many lovely walks around and miles of vineyards behind the chateau and wonderful roads for biking -- flat and easy. We loved Amboise and its many shops and restaurants. This is a wonderful home and we have the highest praise for it!
