People tend to run out of superlatives when talking about Adams Ranch. It’s the kind of place that will take your breath away as soon as you pull into the driveway. This is not what you would expect from a mountain home but something else entirely. The creation of Tommy Hein, a renowned Telluride architect, design lovers will revel in the artistry of the architecture - the way the landscape becomes a part of your experience here. Every room except the bunk room enjoys an unobstructed view of some of the most spectacular mountains in Colorado. In the cold frost of the still morning, you might awaken to a herd of elk right beyond your window, their hot breath rising through the air.

Located in the Telluride highlands of Mountain Village, 143 Adams Ranch Road offers a serene high alpine setting with incredible 270-degree views of the San Sophia and Sneffels mountain ranges and Wilson Peak, an iconic 14,000' peak, the highest point in San Miguel County.

 The home is built and designed for entertainment and its breathtaking views.  Though the home is only 1.5 miles and a free shuttle ride to Gondola, its location on the 8th fairway (a cross country ski track in the winter), makes the home feel like you are on the edge of the wilderness.  Beyond the fairway, are unobstructed views of the mountain meadows, where elk and wildlife graze, and where you can toast the iconic majesty of the Wilson peaks from any of the four connecting decks, patios and terraces.  

 A pergola covers the large stone patio and western lawn that provide the ideal spot for a lawn party or wedding ceremony that overlooks Wilson.  This area is complemented by a covered outdoor “U-shaped” bar/grill, providing an evening or afternoon that will rest in your memory forever.  The adjacent dining deck is just off the kitchen and dining area and features stacking/sliding patio doors that invites the inside out.  A meandering path down the terraced lawn leads you to two connecting decks, a smaller elevated fire pit terrace with a built-in stone bench, and a larger entertainment deck complete with a 6-person spa.  

 The kitchen is large and expansive with a large quarter round island/bar that comfortable sits 10 people.  The kitchen is sandwiched between an east courtyard complete with 8-seat fire table and outdoor griddle; and the western outdoor kitchen and patio area.  The 6-burner stove top, commercial hood, double ovens and multiple outdoor grills, griddles and smokers provide endless possibilities for entertainment and hospitality.  

 Relax and gather in the morning or evening around a roaring “walk in” fireplace in the comfortable great room that features floor to ceiling views of Mount Wilson and the mountain meadow.  A glass of wine or hot chocolate and special person is the only thing not provided.      

Guests have the option of using 2 Platinum transferrable ski passes that will provide free lift access (valued at $130 - $149/day/pass or $260 - $298/day total) for an additional $150/day added to the rental rate. Just ask the Sales Assistant to add this option when booking.

 Weddings, Receptions and Special Events permitted up to 60 people outdoor and 40 people indoor.  Inquire with our home coordinator to discuss rates and assistance.

About Kevin Jones

I live in Houston, TX where I enjoy my profession as a commercial banker. This is not only my 2nd Home, it is my retirement home. As such, I think you find the home warm and comfortable and well equipped for your stay.

I grew up in Baton Rouge, LA and went to LSU (promise ...not fanatical like most of my friends). I have lived that past 20 years in Houston and love, love, LOVE the mountains year around.

Why Kevin Jones chose Telluride

Unique location offering the best of both worlds in Telluride directly on the golf course and a stones throw to skiing.

What attracted me to this property were the views. The house was designed by an renown local architect, Tommy Hein. Tommy designed the home so that no matter where you might be standing in the home, you would have an incredible, unobstructed view of the mountains.

I was also attracted to the large kitchen as I love to cook and the ability to have a grill off the kitchen on the deck that overlooks the golf course.

Lastly, I wanted a place where two to three large families could come together and have fun in the mountains. I love Telluride! I hope that you will too ...whether you stay at my place or anywhere else, you can't get here soon enough.

Beautiful property on the goft course. Was given a great overview of Telluride

and Mountain Village by the rental manager who met us when we arrived.

No problems with the house whatsoever.
