About Melissa A Haeffner

I am an Environmental Science and Management professor at Portland State University. I love traveling around the world. Some of my favorite trips were: Antarctica, Patagonia, Ghana, Siberia, Central America, Baja California Sur, Switzerland, Tokyo/Nagano, road trips across the US, and of course, Portland!

Melissa A Haeffner purchased this house in 2017

Why Melissa A Haeffner chose University Park

Perfect for someone who loves staying with locals when they travel. Easy walk to the University of Portland, Willamette River viewpoints, hip St. John's neighborhood, city parks and trails. I've had quite a few guests who were working Expo Center events so I added an office so you can be productive. Enjoy!

What makes this house unique

Quiet, safe, beautiful neighborhood. My roses were still in bloom last January!

Guestbook comments from the manager

Krista was an exceedingly pleasant guest. She left the room in great condition and she communicated through the app whenever she needed anything. I will welcome her in my place again and I highly recommend her as a VRBO/Homeaway guest.

Cozy rental with world’s most comfortable bed!

  • 5 of 5

Melissa has thought of everything in her rental. Modern decor, added touches like essential oils, fireplace, WiFi, very plush bed and a private patio. All this in a very peaceful neighborhood just up from U of Portland and within walking distance to some great espresso shops and pubs. Melissa was very welcoming but allowed me my privacy. Her place was far better than a stuffy, over priced hotel. I will likely stay here again.

Cute and tucked away, eclectic (in a good way) decor

  • 4 of 5

I enjoyed my stay, it was lovely to listen to the rain pitter pattering away and helping me to fall asleep. I was grateful for the heater to warm the room and really loved the Edison lamps. The bed was a little firm for my taste but the bedding was soft, warm, and comfortable and clean! Extra toiletries (I forgot my toothbrush) were much appreciated and it was easy to find, easy to access, and private.
