Kick off your shoes and come into the spacious living room with its luxe Laura Ashley furnishings, hand-framed Mackintosh print, flat-screen TV, and stunning outlooks. Cook up a feast in the vast dining kitchen, or just curl up with the cafetiere, some complimentary Tunnocks' teacakes, and a book from our Glaswegian mini-library. At the end of the day, unwind in the sumptuous bedroom, or take advantage of 44 Edgehill's great transport links and head into the city for some fun. Join us at 44 Edgehill, your home in Glasgow's West End.

44 Edgehill: welcome to Glasgow!: Glasgow is a city with a fascinating history, a vibrant present, and an exciting future. There is something for everyone to see and do, whether you are with us for a day, a week, or longer. A full dossier of local information awaits you at 44 Edgehill, but we hope you'll also ask us if we can help to plan your itinerary or suggest activities of any kind. We pride ourselves on our personalised service, and we always aim to please.

The West End of Glasgow is particularly noted for its bohemian style, academic heritage, and cosmopolitan night-life. Eclectic boutiques rub shoulders with fine restaurants, lively pubs, and quirky shops, while the University of Glasgow and its Gothic spires look proudly on. Other attractions in the West End include foodie Finnieston, the Botanic Gardens with its glasshouses and children's play park, the recently renovated and eminently browsable Kelvin-Grove Art Galleries and Museum, Kelvin Hall (scene of many great sporting events in Glasgow's history), and the SECC.

Glasgow City Centre is just a short hop by bus, train, or taxi from 44 Edgehill, and there's so much more for you to explore. If it's retail therapy you're after, then look no further than Buchanan Street and the elegant Princes Square shopping centre. Foodies can head to the Farmers' Markets dotted around town, check out the latest pop-up bar and street food in Finnieston, or sample the delights prepared by some of Scotland's finest chefs at Rogano, the Ubiquitous Chip, and the like. Sports fans will be in football heaven at the national Scottish Football Museum by Hampden Park, or while you're in town, you might be lucky enough to catch a famous 'Old Firm' match at Ibrox or Parkhead.

Guests with small children will be spoiled for choice in Glasgow: explore one of the city's many parks, see what life was like for Glaswegian kids of yore at the Scotland Street School Museum, walk with dinosaurs at the Kelvin-Grove, spot some Highland 'coos' in Pollok Park, or pass a rainy afternoon inside at a soft play centre. Ask us for tips -- we've got kids of our own!

About Leah and Alan Hazard

We are a midwife and a landlord, and we pride ourselves in our local knowledge of Glasgow. Having travelled to many countries both on our own and with our two children, we love showing people the best of our own city, and we aim to provide you with the kind of accommodation we would wish to find when abroad. We stay just 5 minutes from the property and are always on hand for help and advice.

Why Leah and Alan Hazard chose Glasgow

44 Edgehill is a classically Glaswegian property -- a high-ceilinged, beautifully proportioned flat in a traditional red sandstone building. We have everything to make this your perfect weekend getaway, family holiday, or business visit. From the dining-sized kitchen to the superfast wifi to the quirky mini-library, our aim is to help you feel at home.

What makes this apartment unique

The property has beautiful leafy views overlooking a peaceful park, but is only a short walk, taxi or bus journey away from all of the buzz of the West End, whether you're looking for an indulgent night on the town or a relaxing stroll around the university.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Fantastic wee flat in Hyndland area! Great location for checking out the west end. Hosts were extremely accommodating and responded quickly to queries. Lovely wee touch with leaving milk juice beer and cereals for us! It was great that we could access the wifi. A very clean and well kitted out flat - would be perfect for those staying longer - a real home from home! Thank you Leah again!

Light, spacious apartment in a quiet part of Glasgow with good transport

  • 5 of 5

This first floor flat is light and area with a superb kitchen diner, large lounge and comfortable bedroom. The area is beautifully kept with lots of trees and immaculate gardens and is very quiet. Hyndland station is just a few minutes walk away with frequent connections into and out of town (only 38 mins to Balloch for a superb day out at Loch Lomond) and the trains are much cheaper than in England. When we couldn't get to Hyndland on our inwards journey because of a signalling problem, our host Alan went beyond the call of duty and picked us up. Highly recommended. We hope to come again.
