Overview

About the property

3 Bedroom, 3 bathroom, on two acres of waterfront property.

A private waterfront getaway on sixteen acres with a five boat pier and a living space of charming decor as if staying on a yacht! Wake up each morning to the smell of coffee and stepping out onto the vast expanse of lawn hugged by soothing water filled with wildlife. You sit in the white Adirondack Chairs with your crossword and Words With Friends (because yes, there's WiFi!). You suddenly realize you need a few more groceries for your grilling tonight, so you hop on your bike and breeze through to the Acme in St. Michaels where all of your needs are met. You stay for lunch and eat in Foxy's, a bohemian Bar & Grill located on a charming marina, and you watch the yachts come in. On your bike ride home, you stop into Chesapeake Landing, and pick up some smoked Blue Fish for your hors d'oeuvres that evening. Once home, pop open your favorite wine ( or boil up some relaxing green tea) and take in the sight of the fish jumping in the cove and then take in the night sky with our telescope.

About Liv Violette

Fun loving, caring mother of two who co-owns a company with her husband and wants to share her favorite vacation spot with like-minded individuals.

Liv Violette purchased this cottage in 2006

Why Liv Violette chose Chesapeake Bay

Living in the city has its perks, but there is something about frequenting a getaway that calms the soul. My husband and I chose to buy this property because our hectic lives needed some slowing down without distractions. We love The Lodge at Leadenham Cove because we have solidified our relationships with friends and family by having them join us in a wholesome and soothing environment.

What makes this cottage unique

My favorite part of staying at the cove is sitting in the Adirondack chairs with friends for hours catching up, and genuinely enjoying each others company. The Catalpa, Magnolia, and Pine trees give the space a unique park-like setting, that never grows tired. At night, I love to serve dinner to my guests on the deck below a Maple tree decorated with hanging lamps that my daughter refers to as The Great Hall from Harry Potter.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Myself and some friends rented this property for a low key guy's weekend trip, and we couldn't have asked for more. The house is clean, comfortable and has everything you need, including a shed with toys and tools. The property itself is fantastic, and we spent most of our time on the pier fishing and crabbing. For a bunch of city folks who wanted some privacy and peace & quite, we were more than satisfied! The owner is professional, personable and communicative. As we arrived on a rainy Friday morning, she was standing at the entrance to the driveway to direct us in so that we wouldn't miss it. She quickly showed us what needed to know and then let us get to relaxing. I wish we could keep this place a secret, but this property simply deserves 5 stars. We'll be back for sure! And now we want to bring our wives so they can enjoy it too.

Fun in the sun secluded getaway back to nature!

  • 5 of 5

From just lying on the dock of the bay, to kayaking to enjoying a romantic dinner for two on the deck, this escape from the daily grind exceeded our expectiins! The 16 acres provided some exciting moments to enjoy the deer and bunnies and the total privacy we were seeking. All this while being just 10 minutes from St. Michaels. 9.5 out of 10!

Fantastic Vacation

  • 5 of 5

It was a very nice place, and the host was always available to answer any questions we had. The property is amazing, with it's own dock on the water. Very well manicured lawn, great amenities, and just an overall nice atmosphere for a getaway. I'd definitely come back again here for another vacation! Thank you!

Peace and privacy right on the Eastern Shore

  • 5 of 5

The cottage at Leadenham Cove is a beautiful place to spend time away from everyday life and just be with your family and friends. Liv is an incredibly thoughtful host, from providing starter supplies of paper towels, spices, toilet paper, bug spray, etc to leaving courteous notes so you know what each light switch is for. The home is cozy and has everything you could need including a stocked movie and book library as well as WiFi. The beautiful room off of the master provides the perfect spot for reading. Sunsets on the dock are not to be missed! You won't believe the vibrant colors. Be sure to bring your dog; they will love the freedom of roaming the ample yard. Privacy and peace abound here. Our family of 6 had a lovely vacation and couldn't be more thankful to Liv for her incredible hospitality!

Ultimate Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoyed our time with our grown children and my mom, at 88 years young, still enjoys catching crabs off the pier. The home was lovely and spacious for our needs. The 1st floor bedroom suite was perfect for my mom. Our entire family truly enjoyed our stay. We loved the room off of the master suite, it was lovely to sit and just enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The grounds were beautiful, lots of wild life to see, easy drive to the town of St. Michaels. Thanks to Liv and Mike who were wonderful hosts, ensuring that we had a fantastic vacation. We are looking forward to staying again next year to make more memories to cherish! July 2017

Beautiful retreat on the creek

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at the lodge and were very appreciative of the owner Liv's generous accommodation. The home is beautiful and larger than pictured, a perfect retreat from my husband's and my usual hectic city life. Our small dog chased bunnies in the yard at dusk and we enjoyed a glass of wine on the dock taking in a beautiful sunset. The town of St Michaels is a ten minute drive away and has great restaurants and boutique shops.
