Stunning Location, Great little house

  • 5 of 5

We got off to a bad start because we arrived well after dark (and quite wonderfully, there is NO outdoor lighting in the area) and we could not make out house numbers and could not locate the home. We thought we were going to get shot prowling around people's houses with flashlights at 11:30 p.m. Problem was that google maps was pointing to the wrong side of the road. The owner since fixed it by adding better directions to his instructions.

That being said (it was no one's fault), what a WONDERFUL property to just chill out and use as a home base to see a vast number of fantastic attractions in the area - Jackson Hole is driving distance, the Intermittent Spring (largest intermittent spring in the world) is right in Star Valley and is just a short hike away (check the times of year when it's active).

We arrived after dark after a 13 hour drive from Nevada but the reason we were so late was quite wonderful. The last stretch of road on Highway 34 from Lava Hot Springs was TEEMING with wildlife (including many cattle, with lots of nursing Mamas in the roadway) and we had to go quite slow. We saw a huge owl, elk, many deer, raccoons, something that looked like a falcon, a river otter and more. My gosh what a roadway that is!

The home was wonderfully equipped with all manner of kitchen implements, which I very much appreciated as I prepared several family dinners for extended family that also arrived in Star Valley to bury my beautiful Mother in Fairview. We barbecued, played several family games that were in the property's goody cabinet. My family especially loved the steam feature in the master shower!

Oh, there were just a few not-so perfect things about the property, but in the big picture they didn't matter. The wifi service is poor (almost worthless) but there is fine ATT cell signal there. I found the same wifi condition when we rented a large house in SV Ranch a few years earlier. Perhaps good service is just not available there. There is no cable TV, but there is a huge television and a person can go use the Netflix and Amazon video service on it.

The star gazing possibilities at the property are WONDERFUL and the home is equipped with a telescope. Hint: The garbage disposal switch is along the top inside front of the lower cabinet. We had a hard time finding it and my brother finally thought to trace the wires to the switch).

All in all, it was memorable trip and thanks to Peter and this property for making it extra special

Large well-equipped home with beautiful views

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay very much. The bedrooms were large, the master bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of room for our family. The great room has amazing views-we loved watching the hawks swoop around. Peter was very easy to work with; we appreciated his kindness.

Beautiful home. Loved it.

  • 5 of 5

Great place for quiet, beautiful scenery, family gathering. No large mixing bowl. Had food in refrig. We brought our own. Hard to keep separate. Had mouse poop. I cleaned counters with disinfectant. We really enjoyed our stay. Would recommend and come again.

Quiet peaceful location with open valley and mountain views

  • 4 of 5

This home offered luxury amenities and great floor plan for gathering with family. Kitchen filled with all that was needed to BBQ and entertain. Bathroom facilities all modern and customized. Decks provided great outdoor seating and star gazing. 50 mile drive to parks but it was a pleasant drive to and from. Only issue was a small mouse that visited in the The evening..

We had a great time! It was more than atypical rental home...

The Bridger Cabin

  • 5 of 5

The home is in a beautiful, peaceful setting with viewing decks galore. Peter was helpful with our WiFi connection problems. The spacious, elegant home accommodated nine people nicely. Nearby fishing on the Gray's and Snake Rivers was excellent. Jackson Hole was about an hour away, and the beautiful Teton Nat'l forest was not much further. Excellent museums in Jackson Hole and Afton. We went to a fun car show in Afton, and enjoyed ice cream from Star Valley Chocolates.
