We arrived and were greeted by Richard and Michael who assisted with unloading our luggage and taking it into the appartment. Four of us stayed for 6 days. Plenty of room, adequate kitchen utensils for eating in. Enjoyed staying outside of the French Quarter, with an easy drive to sites we wanted to see.
Restaurants close to the house are available, especially "The Joint" barbecue eatery at the end of the street, and the country club 3 houses down the street. Adequate parking for our vehicle. A notebook with highlights to see in the area is provided.
Loved their dogs, they came and visited us often. Would stay again if we visit New Orleans. Thank you Richard and Michael.
We had a wonderful stay at Mr Prell's La Boheme in Bywater. He was a great host. The home was everything we wanted in a home which gave us the New Orleans experience. You truly are "living in" a New Orleans neighborhood when you stay here.
We are grateful he allowed us to stay in his home and would not hesitate going back.
The two bedroom two bath home is an excellent value for the amount of space you get. It'll be hard to beat, especially this close to the quarter.
I know you'll Enjoy your stay here, we sure did!
Our son was in a camp this summer at NOCCA and we wanted a place within walking distance. The apartment was quaint and spacious for the three of us. Not a single complaint. A very short walk to some nice places to eat/drink in the neighborhood. Would absolutely stay here again.
What a wonderful spot - loved the house and the neighborhood. Sadly, Mr. Prell was out of town for most of our visit but he provided us with a great host in John during our stay. We were able to see and learn so much more about New Orleans thanks to his expertise. History, food and conspiracy theories - we enjoyed it all! What else can I say "it's New Orleans"!
First, I must begin by thanking Mr. Prell for his incredible hospitality and charm. I have traveled many places on my own and this one really took the cake, birthday cake in this case. Upon my arrival at the home, which was a 30+ hour ride on the Amtrak, I was greeted by Mr Prell, the doggies and Julia, the apartment manager. To this day, I still feel the warmth I felt from them as I walked through their doors. As it was just a few hours to midnight; my birthday, we sat around drinking wine and talking of life experiences, an amazing unexpected welcoming that was worth all these years the wait. I had not even unpacked and I knew I was not going to want to leave.
Now for the home,
This is true New Orleans at its best. The home is so much larger than it seems in the pictures on the website, extremely clean with beautiful high ceilings and incredible wooden floors. Throughout the home there is exquisite photography and art that would rival any museum. The bedroom in the back of the home is large with lovely French doors opening to a peaceful sitting area. The bathrooms are clean and efficient and the second bedroom just as pleasant as the first. The kitchen made for great late night eating of Po’boys and dirty rice. The home has plenty of visitors’ guides, in case you cannot decide what to do; highly unlikely though.
Food, food, food, I mean, why else do you go to New Orleans?
The neighborhood is very safe with local bars, small restaurants, and a convenience store not too far away. The streets are lined with beautiful trees and front porches adorned by colorful flowers. The French Quarter is very close. If you are not driving, just call a cab; worth it is you will be indulging in some libations.
You will never go wrong with a visit to New Orleans but make it especially great by staying in this home. It truly is magical. Thank you Mr. Prell, thank you Julia, thank you to the doggies. The memories I have of my stay are still like a reality when close my eyes. Hope to visit again soon. Lots of love.
I was very impressed with the home. I love the neighbor hood we are staying in. The internet is good. We have had a few problems with the internet but we have had some thunderstorms. We have had a great time. I am very please with the whole home and the greeting from the owner Mr. Prell. Thank you Mr. Prell for the wonderful experience here. We have had a great time. I would absolutly stay her again.
