A perfect setting and location for wedding weekend - you have an exquisitely beautiful house!
Absolute gem, unless you're headed to Whiteface, park your vehicle for the duration of your stay. Walk to all your shopping, eating, and hydration stations. We had (12) in our group, and home provided plenty of space and energy in each room.
I rented this house to celebrate my father's birthday with family, and we all had a grand time!! When we walked into the kitchen there was a welcome letter and a little box of chocolates awaiting us. This house is literally steps from the sidewalk of main st., and yet the trees surrounding the property give you a sense of privacy. We spent a lot of time sitting out on the deck grilling or just watching the people below us. The house has such character with its dark wood and antique finishings-we were all in love with it! The owners decorated it beautifully and supplied it with more amenities than we could ask for. We had so much fun, and will definitely be coming back here next year!! I 100% recommend this to everyone.
My husband and I rented this beautiful house for our immediate family to stay when my daughter was getting married in Lake Placid. It was perfect for everyone to be able to enjoy the visit and to host a large dinner for the family. The location couldn't be more perfect. If you like old homes with lots of character, you will love this house. The only challenging part for us was navigating the snow and ice in the driveway with elderly parents - that's pretty hard to avoid at that time of the year! We were thrilled and so glad we chose this lovely home instead of getting hotel rooms.
We had a truly phenomenal stay here! I can't say enough about the location...in the morning, I could walk 20 steps to the coffee shop, then cross the street to shop at the bookstore. In the afternoon, my husband and I would take a 5-10 minute walk to the public. It was awesome to be so close to everything! We could just park our car and walk everywhere.
The inside of the house is gorgeous...all antique and antique-style furniture, original woodwork, oil paintings...yet modern where it needs to be...blue ray players, HDTV, updated kitchen appliances. The beds are oh-so-comfy with high-quality linens, and we found the living room couch superb for our movie night in.
This is the perfect place to stay for a large family, or a group of friends / couples, that wants to enjoy everything the Adirondacks has to offer. Everything in Lake Placid is accessible by a short walk, and it's just a quick drive to some awesome hiking and skiing. It's especially great for history buffs or fans of Downton Abbey...I may have insisted that my husband refer to my as "Lady Julia" during our stay.
Somehow this delightful house manages to be totally private yet right in the middle of things. Because of its location tucked into the trees above Main St., you are out of the hustle-bustle, yet just a minute's walk to everything. It is a perfect setting for a family gathering; the downstairs living rooms are spacious with comfortable leather furniture. The 3rd floor offers an alternative "hang-out", perfect for kids or teens. My favorite spot, though, was the huge front porch/veranda, with views of Mirror Lake, the mountains and the town. The beds and linens are top quality; each bedroom has its own character and decorations. It is truly a "mansion" in the old style, complete with lovely old pictures and things to look at. Our 4-generation family found it an ideal place to spend a reunion week together and we hated to leave!
The location is incredible and the house is grand yet cozy! Beautiful features i.e. woodwork, furniture, porches and views. Totally worth the rental price! Fully stocked kitchen was a pleasant surprise! Amenities are modern, furniture is antique yet comfortable! Can not wait to rent again with my friends!
