In the center of Thompson Springs ghost town! ONE MY THREE PROPERTIES HERE . Quiet and peaceful. This is not for the person who loves rush hour in the big city! There is a Shell station in town and that's it! Bring groceries with you when you come. Moab and Arches National park is about a half hour drive to the south. This place is really all about freedom. If you decide to ride an ATV through Town, nobody bothers you. If you decide to ride your bicycle down old hwy 6 you might pass a car, but chances are you won't.
I love adventure and beautiful scenery, open spaces, no crowds and lots of wild life. My idea of relaxing is not waiting in line at Disney world (although it has its place)
Jim lindsey purchased this mobile home in 2010
I bought this property because its not handy to shopping and air pollution and traffic jams and noise and confusion and stress... hundreds of miles of unfenced public property! serenity!!!!
You can go hundreds of miles on an ATV and not cross private property
My husband and I spent a week in this charming, very reasonably priced unit. As other reviewers have stated, the home was immaculate and well supplied with the necessities. It was the perfect size for the 2 of us. It is located about a 1/2 hour drive from the National Parks' entrance gates, Moab, and restaurants/shopping. This wasn't a problem for us. We planned our days so that we could follow up a National Park visit or other area hike/scenic drive with a stop in town for dinner at a restaurant or a quick stop at a grocery store to restock provisions. We were happy to return to our quiet "home away from home" after witnessing the crowds in town!
The Thompson Spring location made it an easy drive to the less visited Goblin Valley, Little Wildhorse Canyon, and Green River. The changing scenery in this part of Utah is amazing! The gentleman who works with Jim is a Moab local and had lots of suggestions for other "Off the Beaten Path" places to visit.
The Dillard RV Park has ATVs available to rent. We were fortunate to be able to arrange a guided tour with Jim. It was one of the highlights of our trip! Both the town of Thompson Springs and Saga Canyon have an amazing history!
We loved our stay in our unit and would definitely book again if we revisit the area. I've been telling everyone (even strangers in Moab) about our wonderful stay. Thanks Jim!!
PS Jim and Sandy have a number of other units in the park (mostly 2 and 3 bedroom if I'm remembering correctly) . Renting a combination of these units would be wonderful for larger groups travelling together.
perfect place to stay. easy to get to the arches and canyonland, owners are very nice, very clean and affordable.
This little house is located in a quiet RV park. Tastefully decorated, it is in good condition. Jim is from Tennessee, a friendly host, and southern hospitality. There are local sites to explore, ATV's to rent, and trails to ride. Arches National Park is within easy driving distance. Recommended.
This was a great place to stay. The owners were very responsive and had the place ready before we arrived. The town was an interesting place to walk around. The ghost town was neat to see as well. We stayed here for our visit to Moab. It was only about a 30 min drive to get to Arches. We enjoyed not being right in town. Our kids loved being able to explore the old town and one of their favorite parts was song the trains and putting coins on the track. I would definitely recommend staying here especially if you have little children.
My wife and me spent 3 days at Jim's place. Perfect when you want to be close to Arches, Colorado national monument and Canyon lands… but not too close to the touristy stuff of moab. The place was extremely clean and had a great shower and kitchen… even better than our flat in the San Francisco Bay area! The little unit was very quit and the porch was awesome.
Hope to visit again!
We could not have picked a better place to stay! This house was perfect for my wife and I! It was clean, comfortable and well appointed. If you're looking for peace and quiet, out of the hustle and bustle of Moab, this is your place. Its just a short highway drive into town for shopping and sightseeing. We found the area around Ballard RV park is full of things to explore, Sego ghost town, petroglyphs and Book cliffs are all right there!
The managers, Jim and Sandi were just as nice as they could be! They have a wealth of knowledge about the area and are more than happy to answer all of your questions. We are planning another trip to the area and we will definitely be staying here again!
Thank you Jim and Sandi for a wonderful vacation!
