I have owned this home for 15 years..I use to have a landscape business in Arizona...When things would become too stressful I would come to San Carlos to recharge my batteries and unwind...Its a paradise here! Its a lot smaller then Puerto Vallarta but still it's a great location for all ocean activities such as diving, kayaking, whale and dolphin watching. There's also a golf course very close, great restaurants and bars...I've also had meditation groups and yoga groups enjoy the peacefulness of the area. No matter were you stay, my wish is you enjoy this special place which is San Carlos.
John Stevens purchased this studio in 1995
(This property is not the place to have drunken parties) It is a place to unwind relax and get away from the grasp of the tornados that life throws are way... Its perfect for romantic get away or family time , but most of all a place to enjoy the quality of life rather then the standard of life...
The reason I fell in love with this property is it gave me moments of not thinking of the struggles that life throws are way. Instead I find myself watching the birds catching fish or the dolphins and seals that often visit. Sometimes I get to be 9 years old again filled with curiosity as I look at what just washed ashore or I wonder were the boats are going as they pass by... We all need a mental break every now and then and I truly believe this place offers that..
John was the ultimate of hosts. This is the best place we've stayed in San Carlos or Guaymas. Everything was perfect, the Birthday added extras that we didn't expect, the kind acts of helping us with our luggage and items to and from our room, I could go on and on and bore you all to death. This place is AMAZING! The views alone are worth the price. But the service will really exceed your expectations. There are a lot of steps from top to your room and then to the beach. Every step is worth it! You're on a hillside looking down into the most amazing view in San Carlos.
Highly Recommend for couples
Had a great time. Beautiful property and casita and John is a wonderful host. Private and secluded but close to everything. We would definitely go here again
Our second time staying here. This is such a unique and perfect vacation rental. There are steps leading from your casita directly down to the beach. I've never seen anyone else on the beautiful beach below the casita, and John (this property's wonderful host) has kayaks that are available to take out straight from the beach. John makes sure you have everything you need and is very thoughtful and welcoming. If you're looking to party hard it may be best to look elsewhere, but for a romantic getaway I'd have a hard time picturing a better place.
We had a spectacular time in the beautiful town of San Carlos. This lovely casita was a vacation in itself. The private beach, bar area, and charmingly decorated home were even better than the pictures. Romantic, private, and cozy. John was a wonderful host and we left feeling like family. With all there is to do in this beautiful seaside Mexican town, we can't wait to get back. When we do , we'll definitely be staying in our new home away from home.
We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the place. We were looking for a place to get away for awhile and just relax and that is exactly what we got. John is a great guy, is very helpful and has a great place...even for our full sized dog.
We arrived to a warm welcome and the offer to help unload our luggage. My wife, myself, two teenager kids and dog arrived and John gave us the tour. The studio was just right for us for some great family time. It was furnished with everything we needed (minus food of course) but had utensils, dishes, filtered water, some welcome refreshments, bedding, and towels for inside and the beach. It is a neat place with a wonderful atmosphere.
There is an outside grill/mini kitchen area with seating that we used and it was great! It was nice to sit out on the patio, watch the sunset and just hang out and relax.
We also spent every day on the beach below. We fished, snorkeled, kayaked and just hung out. With the exception of a few construction workers working on nearby property's and the occasional passing boat, we never saw anyone and had an awesome time. We actually spent every day right there on the beach and in the studio and I think we only left twice...once to go out to eat and another time to go resupply food stuff.
If there was anything to mention, and its not a negative, just a heads up is that there are a lot of stairs to get from the road to the studio and then again down to the beach. The overall decor is wonderful and safe, but you will get your workout in going up and down. But even with our kids we didn't mind it and had fun joking around about it.
Beautiful place and would love to go back again!
This place is wonderful: the studio is clean and beautiful, the kitchen well-equipped, and the view breathtaking. The mattress was too soft for our taste, and decoration could be drastically reduced, but other than that, the studio was perfect. The most enjoyable part is outside: the ramada, hammocks, grill, and bar are surrounded by beautiful gardens, San Carlos mountains, and the Sea of Cortez. The beach is small, so don't plan to go for long walks, but perfect for long swims. John was very generous and waited for us with chilled wine, beer, soda and water. He was also very nice and helpful. Wifi connection is very spotty, but who cares?
