I live in Australia and have my own business managing and promoting holiday resorts all over the country, I'm married with 2 grown up sons both married, one with 2 children.
Steve Lakidis purchased this bungalow in 2004
My wife grew up in Guildford so we come back to the UK often so we needed a home away from home.
So that the property would not be empty in between our visits we decided to let it as holiday accommodation. We hope any visitors will find it as comfortable and homely as we do.
We had a great stay st Steve’s house and the place really exceeded our expectations. It’s really spacious inside and a lot bigger than we were expecting. The location is good with a very short drive into town or a cheap Uber if you are looking to go out for dinner and drinks.
Steve was fantastic and amazingly accommodating and I can’t recpmmend this place highly enough!
Great house with all the necessary comforts for a family + grandparents.
Not too outside Guildford in very quite area.
We enjoyed the stay and we strongly recommend it.
We booked this for 2 families of 4 and it worked really well for us. :-) We went to Legoland twice which was about 35 minutes away on an easy drivable route. We went to Chessington once 20 mins away and again, very easy journey). We did a day trip to London and the train took 33 minutes (we did take a fast train).
The bungalow is a very good size and has 4 bedrooms (3 are doubles and one is a twin). A good sized kitchen with a dishwasher and washing machine and a full sized fridge freezer – all good for a family as we used all of these things!
The lady next door (who looks after the house) was very helpful. When we had a birthday party for my daughter with the 4 kids and we realised we didn’t have a lighter to light the candles on the cake she lent me some matches. Also on the second day I said the house was so warm (due to the fact it was gorgeous weather when we were away) and she give us some sheets we could use as opposed to the duvets. I used them every evening.
I would definitely come back here again as we did have a great time. I would say that it could do with some black out curtains as its so light so the kids all woke up very early (around 5.30am every morning).
This Bungalow offers much space and is fully and well equipped. Furniture is comfortable and very well kept. Available WLAN access makes short term tour planning easy.
From here you can easily reach Central London by train, as well as the south coast or other nice destinations. The city of Guildford is a nice place to be and a place with beautiful surroundings (North Downs). A perfect contrast after a visit in London.
The lady that gave us a warm welcome (and the keys) was very nice and always was available for questions, if needed.
We enjoyed our stay very much and sadly left the place when we needed to return home. I would surely press the "like" button several times if there were any. I warmly recommend this place.
This is a wonderful property. I have just returned from 6 weeks here. I could live there. The location is great 15 minute walk to Town Centre and 20 to Mainline station.(London 35 minutes ). Bus stop outside door.
It has everythng you need for a wonderful stay in this lovely old town with its cobbled High Street. The property was very clean on arrival .Lovely comfy beds, very well equipped kitchen. Garden with Barbeque( too cold for that).
Lots of information on what to do, dining etc. If Indian food is your thing then you must ry the local restaurant. Red Rose(5 minute walk) .Do book as it gets very busy. They also do take away. Lots of lovely old pubs in this area. Call a cab so you can enjoy the local ales. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property.
I hired this house for my new in laws to use as a base before our wedding day. This is a gem of a bungalow style property with loft conversion, and is beautifully equipped and furnished - it really does look the way it does in the photos. The lady who looks after the property on behalf of the landlord was really friendly and kind, and was not intrusive at all especially considering she lives next door. The landlord is based in Australia, so when you contact him bear this mind as he can't give an instant response due to the time differences. This is also a shame as I can't thank him in person!
