About Brandi McLain

My husband and I are local from Luray, Va. We have a beautiful baby son, and two dogs. We love our family time together, and we wanted to have a place where others could have family times and enjoy the cool mountain air.

Brandi McLain purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Brandi McLain chose Virginia

We used to live in this cabin until we out grew it when we had our son. We loved the cabin so much we couldn't part with it. So we decided to let other families enjoy it too!

What makes this cabin unique

This cabin has fresh spring water, beautiful views of the Shenandoah Valley, and cool mountain air in the summer. To relax we have 4 person hot tub.

Best Birthday Ever!

  • 5 of 5

My husband & I just loved the cabin to the point of not wanting to leave. The week just wasn't long enough. Brandi was a sweetheart! She assured us that she was there for us if we ever needed anything. We got it as a last-minute deal and I'm grateful we were able to find this. It was like a honeymoon all over again. We did some exploring, went to the zoo--but mostly we enjoyed the solitude. In my work, I'm around chaos almost on a daily basis and it was good to just sit back and exhale for a week. Enjoyed the location, the beauty of the surroundings, the coziness of the cabin, etc. It was a wonderful stay. Hope to do this again! Thank you, Brandi!

Family Vacation

  • 3 of 5

The house was perfect for my family. We had a lot of fun it is nice that we were secluded. It was a little hard finding the drive way. We were greeted by a woodchuck as we drove up the driveway. We loved the hot tub especially after hiking! The kitchen was well equipped too. The only thing was the mattress in the bedroom it was very stiff so my husband and I ended up on the pull out couch! My kids loved the bunk beds. It was a great vacation and the house is located near luray which was nice too! We made some great memories!

Great long weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I along with another couple throughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin. The hot tub was great and the hiking trails were also a lot of fun. The cabin was very cozy and well kept. It was exactly what we were looking for. We will definitely recommend to others. Thank you for the great weekend.

Wonderful cabin!

  • 5 of 5

Brandi is wonderful! She is so sweet and helpful. We had a great stay, despite chilly temps. The cabin is clean and cozy and has everything you could need to cook and grill. Little things were thought of as well. The fireplace is a great place to cuddle. The hot tub is great and you can relax watching the stars, watching the fire pit or looking out over the valley. Lots of small shops and restaurants nearby. Close to luray caverns and skyline drive. All around great place to stay! I was completely happy with the cabin, location and our stay. Thanks Brandi!

Cabin In The Woods

  • 5 of 5

The Cabin weekend was a little getaway for my girlfriend and best friend. We decided to plan our trip during the Thanksgiving Holiday to get away from the busy life style that is DC and the world. This cabin offered us the tranquility of nature that we were seeking as well as the solitude from the world. It had everything we needed for our stay. The views were a great addition to our mornings. The cabin had a cozy atmosphere as well as a jacuzzi. Cause cmon, who doesn't love a jacuzzi? Overall our stay was pleasant, and much needed. I definitely recommend this little Cabin for anyone wanting to get a peace of mind.

Sadly, Not Again

  • 2 of 5

We have been staying in various places in the Shenandoah Mountain area for almost a decade. This one had a few special features, like the open ceiling, hot tub, and real cabin feel, and a beautiful partial view. But it lacked more than it had: the location was literally right off the beaten path and a bit precarious to find and access. There was virtually no yard. From the back door one walks right into the kitchen table and has to move around it. There were little to no rugs to speak of, storage was sub standard, and the grill had seen better days. Worst was the bedding, and the squeaking bed kept us awake half the night both nights. We did love the hot tub, one of the highlights. The view was stunning but not easily seen.. if a few trees could be slightly trimmed at eye level from the porch it would make a huge difference. We love the general area but prefer to be a bit more off the road. The description was accurate for the layout and amenities. We've already begun searching for next year's adventure but sadly, there wasn't enough draw for us to return to this place.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your review I greatly appreciate your feedback as it helps us to know what we can do better! It's sounds as if we need to replace the mattress and grill so as the budget allows we will do this. This is the first review to make these recommendation. We limit the rugs in the cabin as they are a falling hazard for the elderly and children. We understand you opinion on the location however we love it and so do most of our guest as it is very easy to locate with easy accessibility from the road and has a beautiful view. It's also tucked up on a hill away by itself with no neighbors. The yard is as large as nature allows as the hill continues up the mountain behind the house to give another tranquil view of nauture. We keep the trees for privacy. Our affordability of $150 per night reflects the simplicity of the 2 bedroom 1000 square foot cabin with hot tub, fire place and beautiful views. I'm so glade you enjoyed the hot tub it's brand new just replaced in November 2015. We try to continue to make upgrades and enhancements as the budget allows so we can provide a comfy welcoming cabin for our guest!
