1 Bedroom, 1 Bath Right On Lake Michigan, Let The Waves Lull You To Sleep
About Tim Acton
I own two condos at Summit Beach because I love it here. Algoma is my getaway, my happy place. I can relax immediately when I see and hear the waves and the seagulls. I can do absolutely nothing and feel at peace. I live in Appleton, WI, which is about an hour away and I visit as much as I can, which is never enough!
Tim Acton purchased this Condo in 2006
Why Tim Acton chose Algoma
Algoma is perfect because it is close enough to Door County that it is easy to visit (20 mins to Sturgeon Bay), but it is far enough away that it is never overcrowded and overly touristy feeling. I feel a sense of calm wash over me as I drive into Algoma and see the huge sand beach with the waves crashing. It is a refuge from the craziness of life and of Door County.
What makes this Condo unique
You will not believe the sunrises from this place. It is worth getting up to see them, even if you turn around and go right back to bed. It is so peaceful and the colors are amazing. Hearing the waves crash as you are falling off to sleep is so soothing. The people here are all friendly and there are lots of great places to eat and shop, so you never really need to leave Algoma - but you're close enough to Door County and Kewaunee if you want to have a little adventure.

The property exterior is undergoing renovations and the updates look great; The view of Lake Michigan was right out the door-we listened to the waves all night. The area is quiet and Algoma is a nice town-if your looking for a night life this isn't your place. It was what we wanted--we were happy with the location and easy access to travel and see all of Door County and Green Bay. As a bonus the last day there we saw an eagle flying by the shoreline!!
Algoma condo on Lake Michigan
Perfect little one bedroom place just feet from the crashing waves of lake Michigan.
Homey Lakefront Walkout Condo
Owner's description nails it: Homey lakefront condo in serene [& friendly] Algoma, a stone's throw from Door County.
Nice size, great location, this condo fit all our needs. Beautiful view of the lake and easy access to lots of activities. The owner was very responsive and easy to work with as well.
Perfect for Wine Tours and Relaxation
The condo was absolutely wonderful and perfect for unwinding throughout the weekend. We were able to walk directly out the patio door to the lake and could wake up and enjoy the beautiful sunrises in the morning and the incredible moonlit lake at night. The inside of the condo had everything that you could want for a weekend away and Tim had left it stocked with plenty of information on the area with all the things to do throughout Door county. Tim was a wonderful host and was extremely helpful and accommodating as well.
We came to Door County with the intention of sightseeing and some wine tastings, and Algoma was a great location to stay as there are three winery's within 10 miles (including one in town). The furthest north winery was about an hour drive, so we started there and ended our day right back near the condo. There is also a cheese factory just north of town for those that are fans of good cheese curds. Algoma was also a decent ways away from the hustle and bustle of the tourism that we encountered in some of the towns further up the peninsula, so even when we went into town, it was a bit more relaxing. Overall, a great experience!
The view in the picture is really the view you have! Wonderful stay!
The view is incredible. I am a late sleeper on vaca and set my alarm to see the sunrise and it was worth every minute. The geese and gulls congregate outside in the water to view it with us. Tim, the owner, is beyond amazing in being helpful, kind and generous. Never stayed anywhere where the unit was as well stocked as this--unbelievable--there is nothing we wanted for. Very clean. Two giant TVs that are AWESOME. We will have to come back in the warm weather to enjoy the outside as it was in the 30's. We drove from the condo up thru all the towns to the end of the peninsula. The fall colors were beautiful. Tim has great suggestions. There are two visitor books from previous guests in the condo dating back to 2015. I read every page and there was not one complaint. I agree. Wonderful!
von Stiehl winery is a must visit. Taste their huge variety of delicious wines and soon - beers. They do tours, tastings and wine pairings. Free music on Saturdays in summer. Cute shops in Algoma and very close to a large antique mall in Kewaunee. Also only 20 minutes from Sturgeon Bay. On the way to Sturgeon Bay be sure to stop at Renard's Cheese for cheese curds and other cheeses. Also stop at Wienke's for scrumptious jams, pickles, fresh veggies, bakery and much more. Back in Algoma you must go to Bearcat's for award-winning smoked fish, fresh fish and a huge variety of frozen fish and seafood. North Water Bakery & Deli does not disappoint - be sure to order ahead for the croissant-dough cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting - you will swoon! The bakery opens early so pick them up before you head out on your charter fishing boat right out of the Algoma marina.
