About Jane Black

We live in Atlanta, GA about 2.5 hours from Highlands. We love the Highlands atmosphere and plan to spend more time here.

Jane Black purchased this cottage in 2007

Why Jane Black chose North Carolina Mountains

My grandparents built a vacation home in Highlands in 1935. I visited during the summer while growing up and the area still feels like 'home'. The sound of the creek is what drew us to this current property.

What makes this cottage unique

The weather is delightful all summer and not severe very often during the winter. Gardening is easily successful because of the weather.

Notes:
Trickledown is near our vacation home, Wagmore. While we are not always there, we are ready to answer any questions or help in any way when we are in residence. Tucked Inn, on the other side of Trickledown, is also on VRBO. It has three bedrooms so there is the possibility of renting both which gives you five bedrooms if it is a larger group.

Everything you could ask for...even better than home. Thanks so much to Jane.

This property has so much attention to detail ,inside & outside, it can only be expressed by seeing it. There is a reason there are only "5 STAR" reviews on this lil slice of heaven in the Highlands. Best VRBO property I've ever experienced. Jeff C.

Magnificent as always

  • 5 of 5

This is our 5th visit. I don't know what else I can say that I haven't said before. We love this place. We did have the good fortune of meeting Jane this visit. She is as lovely in person as she is via email. We are already looking forward to next year.

Simply amazing!

  • 5 of 5

So homey and welcoming. We love the cold weather and we're delighted to light the fireplace and watch 4" of snow falling. Would definitely come again...probably next winter!

Great vacation home for couples or families

  • 5 of 5

Great place to stay in Highlands. Very very nice home with plenty for the kids to do all around the house. Far exceeded our rental expectations.

A slice of heaven in the mountains!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I are regulars at Trickledown. This is the perfect "get away" for one or two couples. My wife and I love the warm, well decorated cabin and wonderfully landscaped property with a beautiful screen porch overlooking Big Creek. We continue coming back several times a year because Jane consistently takes care of every last detail to ensure a wonderful stay. Freshly ironed linens, fresh flowers, soothing music playing when you walk in, plenty of fire wood, everything you can think of. We invite different couples to join us on most trips and everyone begs us to invite them back. Even though we had badly needed rain during most of our stay this trip, we couldn't have been more content. Trickledown causes a completely different type of cabin fever....you get sick when you have to leave!

  • 5 of 5

We have had the great pleasure of escaping to Trickledown over the past several years. Whether there with family or on a girls weekend, the experience is always the same - peaceful, renewing, comfortable, and perfect in every way! There is no better host than Jane. Prepare to build memories that will last a lifetime!
