A spectacular luxury country house and cottage located in Pembrokeshire National Park with stunning water views. Four Ashes sleeps up to 12 people and Oyster Reach cottage 4 people, both properties have been refurbished to the very highest of standards. Four Ashes is truly unique and benefits from a private beach, private moorings, its own quay, boat house and tennis court. Set in four acres of stunning gardens the setting could not be more perfect. Four Ashes is situated on the outskirts of the village of Cosheston, an idyllic location in the Pembrokeshire National Park on the coastal path with stunning waterside views. This luxurious property is decorated to a high standard offering easy living in a contemporary environment ideally suited to large family gatherings/ reunions with friends; the perfect place for entertaining. There are a number of highly recommended attractions to visit locally.
We can even arange boat hire to explore the waterway and its pubs or for water skiing
As you turn into the private driveway, the stunning view of the Haven lies before you, drawing you down towards Four Ashes. Park up and before exploring the house, pause on the terrace. Take in the amazing views to the left, towards the Haven, to the right along the beautiful Cleddau estuary and across the water to the rolling Pembrokeshire countryside.
Four Ashes is a very spacious, luxury detached house perfectly suited to a large family gathering or a reunion with friends, it is the perfect place for entertaining. Set on the outskirts of Cosheston – a peaceful village which was once the centre for major ship building, it is positioned ideally to offer easy access to the unspoilt beauty of the Pembrokeshire Coast and stunning beaches. Sadly, no longer there – the four ashes after which the house was named were felled for reasons of safety – and though we were sad to see them go, the wonderful views from the house, over the Haven and the Cleddau Estuary, have been opened out, and, if possible, are better than ever.
The complete renovation of Four Ashes during 2009 gave us the wonderful opportunity to start from scratch with the interior design, furnishing and equipment, all of which are contemporary, designed for easy living and of the highest quality – and there are lots of finishing touches that add that extra bit of comfort and luxury! Crisp white bed linen, deep down duvets, soft fluffy towels and oh- so- comfy beds; a zoned music system, wireless internet access – your every need is catered for. In fact, if you think you should ask ‘Is there a ....’, you don’t need to – there almost certainly is!
Our superb indoor infinity swimming pool was completed in April 2013 and we are absolutely thrilled with it ! It has been especially designed with the unique feature of an infinity edge, which from water level, overlooks the waterway and gives the impression of an endless swimming pool.
The pool is located immediately adjacent to Four Ashes, in an elevated position that enjoys the most amazing and stunning views of the estuary. The contemporary building features rolling glass walls such that in warm weather, two sides of the building can be opened up to access the large terraced deck area to take up the sun after a relaxing swim. On cooler days, with the glass walls closed, guests can swim in luxurious warmth whilst still enjoying the fantastic estuary views. And for those who may choose not to swim, they can relax poolside on the super- comfortable poolside loungers to read, watch the family or just stare out over the waterway!
Maintained at a constant 28degrees, the saltwater pool is perfect for wallowing and basking, or for the more energetic – large enough to work off some calories with a few energetic lengths! And no smelly chemicals to dry out your skin or make your eyes sting! For complete peace of mind the pool has a motorised safety cover. A monster of a shower, changing room, toilet and pool towels complete the package
We will shortly be installing a rather clever music system that will enable you to play virtually any track in existence within seconds.
There will be no additional charge for the exclusive use of the swimming pool for guests at Four Ashes. Guests at Oyster Reach will be able to use the pool for an additional charge of £200 on a last-minute basis, subject to Four Ashes not being occupied.
The owners Iain and Emma Burgess live in Hay on Wye on the Welsh / English border with their two sons. Work commitments mean that we do not get to use Four Ashes as much as we would like and so we offer guests the unique opportunity to share our enjoyment of this very special property.
Emma Burgess purchased this house in 2008
We fell in love with the unique position of Four Ashes and wanted to create the 'ultimate' holiday home in Pembrokeshire. We have spent almost as much refurbishing and developing the property as it cost to buy but hope that you will agree that we have now achieved our objective - the finished result is spectacular
