About Joe Clapper
Michele and I are trail runners and for Thanksgiving 2012 we went to Sedona to run the trails in the national Forest. We immediately fell in love with Sedona and started looking for a house. As soon as we walked into this house we knew this was the one. We bought this house on the last day of 2012 and I spent four months of 2013 renovating the house. Michele decorated from local artists and local art sellers. We love traveling the world (picture above is from Iceland) and we know what is important when visiting a new place. We took this knowledge and integrated as much as we could into furnishing, decorating, outfitting our Sedona home. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do. For now our work keeps us in the Washington DC area most of the time but, whenever we can we go to Sedona to seek adventure and to relax. -Joe

Why Joe Clapper chose Village of Oak Creek
When looking for a house in Sedona, Red Rock Views and being close to trails were non-negotiable. We picked this particular house because it was in a quiet neighborhood, close to everything, yet not so close you can hear it. The Village of Oak Creek offers all the amenities without the hustle and bustle of uptown Sedona.
What makes this House unique
The cathedral ceiling in the great room with a glass wall looking out on Castle Rock and Gunsight Gap made this house unique. As you walk through the sliding door onto the large patio the panorama of red rocks expands. The covered patio allows you to relax in comfort as the natural world surrounds you.

Very comfortable home with great view. Everything you could possibly need is in the house. Convenient to shopping and all the Sedona area attractions. Home is well maintained and nicely furnished
lovely, comfortable house
This is a lovely home with so many thoughtful extras. We loved the hot tub and the reclining sofas in the living room. Nice big shower stalls, comfortable beds and a fully equipped kitchen. If you want to be in the heart of Sedona this house is a bit out of town but if you want quiet and to be near some of the best trails and formations it's great. There is a nice grocery store and a bunch of restaurants very close to the house, so you have lots of things nearby in the Village of Oak Canyon. If we return to Sedona we would definitely rent this house again.
The House was beautiful and impeccably maintained with breathtaking views from every window.
I recommend this home for anyone looking for a peaceful, restorative place to stay.
This is a terrific house, not just for a vacation stay but to live in permanently. Excellent design: spacious, huge patio with great red rock views, terrific kitchen with everything (we mean everything) you could need - and impeccably organized. Quiet area, so good sleeping. Joe was a great host. He was responsive and genuinely concerned that we should have the very best experience. We've rented 3-5 vacation places a year for 25 years or more , mostly in Europe, and this home is at the top of the list. If you want a house in Sedona, look no further.
The house was beautiful and so was the area. The small touches in the house made a huge difference. There were plenty of menu's for local restaurants (with reviews from the owner) and also plenty of information about what to do in the area. Every drawer and cabinet was labeled with its contents so there was no searching around for which drawer held which thing. The owners communicated with us before the vacation and even e-mailed us mid-week to make sure everything in the house was up to par. We will be staying here again!
Best trails for hiking, biking, and running anywhere. There is something for everyone including helicopter rides, new age activities, Indian ruins, hot-air ballooning, art galleries, Indian jewelry & artifacts, factory outlet shopping, concerts, Cinemas - (Sedona International Film Festival), health spas, psychics, swimming, 2.5 hours from Grand Canyon, 40 minutes from Lowell Observatory, tennis, jeep tours, skydiving, skiing. Or just look at the red rocks.
