Why Tim Holland/Dawn Holland chose Black Hills

This is a great location in town but still quaint. Even though you are in town the location makes you feel as if you are in the woods! It is located on the Mickelson trail and is next to French Creek Park. Downtown Custer is a block away! It has a beautiful yard for the kids to play in and a carport for your vehicles protection.

What makes this cabin unique

On the Mickelson Trail. Very centrally located to all area attractions! Next to French Creek Park. You can walk to downtown Custer. Has a nice deck and a front seating area for sitting and relaxing!

Secluded, yet close to downtown Custer with everything you need for a relaxing stay. We had visits from deer early every morning. This cabin is centrally located and completes your Black Hills adventure. The nearby playground makes it perfect for a family vacation.

Just Right!

  • 5 of 5

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Holland's cabin in Custer SD! The cabin was clean and decorated beautifully. It felt like coming home after our daily excursions. Everything about the place was welcoming and accommodating, from the deck and patio to the bathroom and kitchen amenities..even the beds were very comfortable. It was most excellent to come back, relax and enjoy the grill with the fantastic view toward the mountainside!

Thanks for your wonderful hospitality!!

Perfect location in Custer

  • 5 of 5

We had two families at the location. It was cozy, but it worked! It was cool and rainy so weren't really able to utilize the outside seating areas. If we had, I think the space would have been ample. I had wondered how the room with the bunks would be and was quite pleased to find that it had a door closing it off from the main room...offering it's occupants some privacy. The cabin is cute and furnished with all you need. Owners very easy to work with. I think the thing I liked best about this location was the access to town. It was an easy 3 to 4 block walk.

Great experience!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay in Custer at the creek side cabin. We felt at home and we ate every meal in. We had every meal on the great deck over looking the park like setting. If you are looking for a place to vacation in Custer this would be a great choice. It was within walking distance to great shops and restsurants.

Greatest place in custer

  • 5 of 5

We have been coming to the sturgis bike rally for 9 years, and this is the best place we have stayed. It was great. A nice short walk to town, and a grocery right down the street. The squirrels, the deer in the yard was cool. We plan on staying next year. One thing that would make it an even more enjoyable would be a hot tub on the deck for some of those cool custer nights. We loved cozy cabin and will return next year.

Thank you,

Scott & Kelley McDowell

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for the great review, we really appreciate it! So glad you enjoyed our cozy little cabin. It is nestled in the trees in town and it seems like you are in the woods,, which makes it so nice. It was nice meeting and visiting with you, it would be great to have you back next year! We know a hot tub would be nice, but we worry about keeping it clean. In reference to next year, please don't wait long to book as I don't raise my prices for Sturgis and I am usually booked early! Thanks again for staying with us! Tim and Dawn

Wonderful "home away from home" for our summer family vacation!! Very clean and well stocked!

  • 5 of 5

Great deck to enjoy breakfast before venturing out for the day. Owners were extremely friendly and have pretty much thought of anything one might need. We had a family of five, two adults and three kids. The kids really enjoyed the bunk beds and playing at the playground that is basically an extension of the front yard. We even had a young deer that was grazing in the yard for two evenings in a row while we were there. Custer is a great location too! We spent most of our days out sightseeing, but our breakfasts and dinners were at the cabin. Thank you Tim and Dawn! We'd love to come back again sometime. Thanks! Whitney Family
