The Owen Staples House is one of the most unique listings in Toronto. This faithfully restored Arts & Crafts house was a hub for Toronto's artistic community in the early part of the 20th century. Regular visitors included the Group of Seven and Tom Thomson. It is located close to the downtown core but in the safe, vibrant neighbourhood of Riverdale, with 157 wonderful shops and restaurants within a 5 minute walk. Also 5 minutes by foot are the subway, streetcar, supermarket, parks, pubic tennis courts, skating rink and pool.

About Property Manager/Owner
David has traveled extensively. He particularly enjoys historically interesting destinations. He dabbles in symphonic music composition but recently has spent much of his time restoring 'The Studio' using techniques and materials that were available in 1904. The 'guts' of the house however, electrical, plumbing, heating, AC, bathrooms and kitchen are all either new or recently updated and almost all of the appliances, mattresses, bedding, towels and so forth are new. Welcome to this new listing!

Why Property Manager/Owner chose Riverdale
It's the perfect location. A safe vibrant upscale neighbourhood, especially in the evening, with 157 shops and restaurants within a 10 minute walk. You can access more of Toronto's most interesting sites conveniently from here than the waterfront or financial district which tend to go quiet at night. Toronto is a very big city. Certain areas right in the core are less desirable, especial for families.
What makes this House unique
Most of the places I've stayed in I don't remember, only the very unique and special places stand out in my mind. This house really is extraordinary.

A Historical Home in a delightful neighborhood in Toronto
Our family had a superb week at Riverdale enjoying the tranquility of the house with its beautiful quirky rooms. The location is exceptional for a family break with plenty to do within walking distance and ease of access to the city centre.
Historic and modern at the same time!
We truly enjoyed our stay. Large home with all amenities provided. Full of historic charm and comfortable with plenty of room. Lovely back yard which our dog enjoyed. Owner was friendly and helpful. Great neighborhood.
An artistic hideaway in Toronto
We had a most enjoyable and interesting stay at the Staples house in Toronto, Our host, David Staples, was very helpful in getting us settled and well, acquainted with the house and the surroundings. We found everything we needed during our stay and were very comfortable. The house itself is most interesting, filled with history and art. We would not hesitate to recommend the Owen Staples house to others.
We were saddened a few days after our stay to learn of the tragic shooting that occurred just a few blocks away on Danforth Avenue in the area which we frequented during our stay. Our condolences to all concerned.
