Pristinely located in a quiet, residential cul-de-sac in the center of Palm Springs, this home was designed to model some of the most luxurious boutique hotels in the world, and you feel it when you stay here. Originally built as a contemporary Spanish, the house has been 100% rebuilt by the renowned LA firm Saxony Design Build. Now a rustic-modern retreat, there are touches of the desert and Palm Springs Spanish heritage throughout, as well as the contemporary edge we expect in this particular city. The interior of the house has soaring ceilings highlighted by knotty alder beams, rustic doors, Portuguese limestone flooring, a fully-equipped gourmet kitchen with Viking & Bertazzoni appliances, custom made furnishings, and spa-like marble and limestone bathrooms. The entire home inside and out is configured with the Sonos sound system, which you can control wirelessly through your phone/ipad or directly connect your ipod. For those cool desert nights, there is a cozy fireplace in the great room and for those warm days the back of the house is filled with french doors leading to your own private oasis outside.

The yard consists of a brand new salt-water swimming pool and Egyptian glass tiled spa. There are multiple seating and lounging areas outdoors including dining for 8, a shaded outside living room, a tiki hut for cocktails or cigars, poolside chaises for 4, and relaxing loungers around a custom carved firepit from Mexico. All of this is surrounded by the breathtaking mountain views & California fan palms and topped off with a mist system to keep you cool under the desert sun.

Being a bit farther away from the mountain is key to the success of the outdoor spaces in the house; you get almost an extra hour of sunlight (and sunsets) during the day as compared to the homes close to downtown (and those huge mountains)!

There is free wifi and the larger bedrooms have televisions with a full cable package and BlueRay/DVD player, as does the great room. Each room has a ceiling fan and luxurious Egyptian cotton linens. The smaller bedroom has two twin beds, and all rooms have large closets. There is an elegant round dining table that seats 8 for interior dining or game night. The breakfast bar in the kitchen seats 4 atop the striking quartz countertops and glass backsplash, and there is a high capacity washer and dryer just off the side entrance in the garage.

The attention to detail in this home is like no other available on the vacation rental market in Palm Springs; you will never stay anywhere else after a night in this spectacular space.

Great for Small Groups!

We stayed at this property for a week in early April with two other couples. The property manager Charley met us there promptly and explained the amenities. We had a minor issue connecting to the Sonos sound system, but the property owner quickly responded to our texts and solved the issue. Charley was always quick to respond to any questions or issues that we encountered, and was professional, respectful, courteous, and friendly with us.

The house is situated in a neighborhood of comparable homes, most of which appear to also be VRBO rentals. We had hoped that we could walk to town from the property, but at over a mile one-way we decided that it was too distant.

The pool has a unique dark rough texture coating, which we really enjoyed. It was always crystal clear. One note; you are required to pay an additional $50 a day if you want the pool heated. We opted for this, and the pool maintained a constant temperature of about 86 degrees. There is also ledge seating within the pool along one edge. The pool toys were unusable, so we bought our own. The hot tub was nice and pleasantly warm, but it never did get really "hot". Nice cushioned loungers around the pool. We looked forward to returning to enjoy the pool after a day of hiking or sight-seeing. Other seating includes a fire-pit, lounge area, and a "bar".

The backyard is very nicely landscaped with privacy fencing and vegetation. A nice large table with bench seating for six sits near the kitchen entry; we dined outside during every meal. We tried the patio misters, but it was never really hot enough to use them. Beautiful views from the backyard and pool! Local noise ordinances prohibit external speakers.

In our opinion, the house was somewhat smaller than it appeared in the photos, but it was still adequate for us. The house has been recently remodeled and appears very modern. The house has an open concept in the main living areas. The master bedroom has beautiful French doors that open to the pool area.

The kitchen is nicely equipped with high-end appliances. However, the refrigerator did not function during our stay. Parts were hard to come by, so we were forced to use a small garage refrigerator. Very inconvenient for access and meant frequent trips to the store. However, the property owner accommodated these inconveniences to our satisfaction.

We would definitely recommend this property to friends and family and would stay here again!!

VERY aggressive property manager

I didn’t want to have to leave a 1 star review for such a beautiful property but after the treatment we received from the property manager (CHARLEY) we were left with no choice. In fact I dislike leaving any negative feedback altogether.

During our recent stay in Palm Spring, I experienced an incident with this property manger like nothing I have EVER experienced in my professional life. We were all frigthtened, I was brought to tears, and we all contemplated whether we were safe in that home and whether it was worth staying for the weekend. With the amount of money we paid for the home, we were put in a very difficult position.

Upon our arrival Thursday, 4/12, we arrived to a home that was left in total dissary; bed sheets dirty and ruffled, garbage littering the kitchen from the previous tenants stay. Something we normally look past as accidents do happen. We contacted the home owner to notify her that the home had not been properly prepared for our arrival. She coordinated cleaners and pool maintance for that afternoon / following morning.

Things took a turn for the absolute worst the following morning. Friday, 4/13, we were contacted by the property manger CHARLEY, whom we had not heard from at all since our arrival. He then called and i was greeted by an alarming tone on the phone, at first I thought I was missing some sort of a joke. CHARLEY came to the house shortly after. He stormed into the home shouting at us to “round up everyone”. He then threatened us, when we tried to tell him to change his tone we triggered an all out rage. He called my husband an idiot, swore at all of us, said he would happily kick us all out and that he hates anything and anyone who has to do with the Coachella Festival. (Being the reason we booked). Things quickly escalated and we were so scared that he was going to hurt one of us with his threats.

I cannot stress enough, we are not a household of fraternal partiers, we are music executives and we are professionals who were there for work.

Luckily, one of us in the house was smart enough to take out his smart phone and capture the encounter on camera. I will be sending this to you as something must be done. I worry for future tenants of this home as the man manging the property is not in a stable state of mind. I have never, EVER experienced something so disturbing in my travels as this encounter. We don’t want compensation or sympathy, we just wish to look out for others renting this property!

Owner's Response: We think its pretty obvious to any potential guest reading this that there is more to the story- 68 five star reviews over the course of renting this house for 5 years & this is the first that is under 5 stars. Weird? Charley has been the property manager here for all 5 of those years and he has always received immense praise from every guest AND from the neighbors AND from the city. He also manages all 4 of our friends homes who ALSO have ALL 5 star reviews and praise Charley. Even weirder, huh? Why would this guest post a one star review? Maybe it was the guest? Every person that has rented a home in Palm Springs within the last few years knows how strict the city is with the new short term rental ordinance. The ordinance includes very detailed instructions that guests must follow before & during check in. This guest tried to skirt some of the check in rules & completely ignored the mandatory meet & great, which is city law. Understand that if we don't comply with city law (regardless whether or not the guest wishes to comply) we lose our rental permit permanently. That revocation stays with the house, so not only would it ruin our business but also makes the house less valuable to a potential next owner. Needless to say, we follow every rule accurately & promptly. We make it easy for the meet & great; you can call, text, or email Charley when you arrive. He comes over & shows you around, explains the house, explains the noise ordinance, answers questions etc- again, this is required by law. This guest refused to text, call, or email Charley- he waited up half the night waiting for them to arrive, thinking they were coming in late. Finally after never hearing from them he went to bed & came the next morning. Apparently these partiers had either been up all night drinking or got up early enough to be stone cold drunk by the time he arrived. They were argumentative about every city rule. They refused to listen, walking away, closing doors in his face, going outside. It was explained to them that they would be evicted if they refused to follow these rules, which they signed before check in (over email) as it would be their loss & not the loss of our rental permit that would occur. They were nasty, entitled, elitist, & racist- they made snide remarks about Charley's skin color & racial background. These kind of groups are the reason why Palm Springs has such strict rental regulations now- ruining it for the rest. They are the problem...
