Just Lovely

The villa is lovely and very relaxing, the pool area and BBQ are simply brilliant.Lots of space and so quiet .Very clean and kitchen well stocked with pans ect.

Orotava is a must its one of the nicest towns i have visited. Desmond and Tere are lovely hosts and nothing is too much trouble.I don't go back to the same place on holiday ,but this may be an exception.

A wonderful haven in Tenerife

  • 5 of 5

To echo all the other reviews posted the villa and gardens are simply wonderful. It is a peaceful haven, quite literally off the beaten track. We woke to the sound of the canaries in the aviary which was very special. If you're looking for privacy, space and a beautiful villa inside and out look no further. The villa had everything we needed. We stayed the first week in November, were very lucky with the weather and so made full use of the lovely private pool.

Desmond is a great host and did everything he could before our stay, by helping us with our enquiries. There was also a very helpful brochure that he had put together about the villa, Tenerife, the surrounding area and recommended restaurants etc. I cannot recommend this villa highly enough and hope to return one day.

So good we went there twice (and we'll go again!)

  • 5 of 5

There is really little to add to all the other 5 star reviews. We (two 'mature' couples) stayed at Villa Jardin Botanica in November 2014 - but we had really bad weather so we were not able to make full use of all the excellent facilities. However, we could appreciate how beautiful the villa was - prefect location (at the end of half a kilometre of track!), spacious, well appointed, lovely garden, excellent pool etc etc, so despite the awful weather, we decided to book again in the hope of a better time - so we booked again for April 2015 and were rewarded with pretty well wall to wall sunshine.

A highlight has to be the superb, and heated, swimming pool - we were in almost every day and sometimes twice a day. Particular thanks to Desmond for providing a high and more comfortable easy chair for one of our number who found the rather chic sofas and chairs rather too low!

The garden is a joy, with palms and plants from all over the world, plus a good collection of indiginous flora and a number of productive trees, citrus, avocado, guavas included.

Our small party have travelled on holiday together for 8 or more years and we have never contemplated going back to the same place again - but we've now booked for next year as well. One caveat - I share with the last reviewer the slight concern that the villa will become even more popular and we may have trouble getting a booking!

Wonderful Stay!

  • 5 of 5

I have just returned from staying two weeks at this beautiful villa with my husband and family. Often you read about a place and build a picture in your mind of how its going to be and so often expectations are disappointing, this was the opposite.

Firstly thanks to Desmond and his wife the property owners who took care of our booking and my many questions. They were extremely helpful and kind.

The location of this villa could not be more idyllic nestled in its own exquisite and pristine gardens. The backdrop from the rear of the villa overlooking Mount Teide in the distance was utterly breathtaking.

The villa itself was tastefully decorated and had a real family feel to it. A lot of heart has gone into this property.

The pool was gorgeous and in constant use, large enough for the 6 of us to have plenty of fun! The barbecue area was amazing and perfect for those nights in sat around the veranda or pool.

The property is clean and well maintained all appliances, showers working as they should. With a family of six and two boisterous little children we had acres of space in bedrooms and living areas.

The villa is situated in such a position as to be a great centre to go on so many fantastic trips and to visit tourist attractions without being in a touristy area. A car is definitely needed.

I hesitate to say as I would like to keep this villa a secret to myself, It is utterly charming and in a perfect location.

We never go back to the same place twice but we have already started thinking about returning next year as I cannot recommend this place highly enough. A piece of our hearts remains at this villa....Thank you to Desmond and Sandra for the perfect holiday and for sharing your beautiful home.

Beautiful Villa & Gardens

  • 5 of 5

This is a stunning villa in a great location. It has every possible amenity, the gardens are stunning and views across to the sea and Mount Teide are amazing. The villa itself is huge with generous rooms, lots of comfortable sofas, plenty of outside areas for eating/cooking/lazing about! The bedrooms were well furnished and the beds extremely comfortable. The owner Desmond was a lovely man and he clearly wished us to have the best holiday possible. The children loved watching the canaries, running around the garden and playing in the crystal clear pool. Puerto De La Cruz is a lovely town (the one way system was a bit baffling at first! but once sussed is no problem) The seafront is pretty with lots of inexpensive restaurants. We had several good meals but the most memorable was at the Monastry in La Luz where the food was delicious. We particularly enjoyed a trip up Mount Teide on the cable car but really did very little else (although there was plenty on offer on the island) because the villa was so beautiful! I cannot recommend this villa highly enough - it was fantastic!

Stunning villa in fantastic gardens

  • 5 of 5

We first stayed at Villa Jardin Botanico in March 2011 and, from the moment of our arrival, we fell in love with the place. It was as a result of that wonderful holiday that we booked a return visit in May this year.

The approach to the villa is along a 500 metre unmade (but sound) road between fields growing a variety of vegetables and fruits. The villa is hidden from view but, when the large electronically controlled entrance gate swings back, you enter a lush, tropical oasis which fully justifies the name of this villa.

We were greeted warmly by the owners (who live in their adjoining but not visible villa). When they gave us a conducted tour of our holiday home, we were immediately struck by the size and grandeur of the living rooms, the well equipped kitchen, the quality of the furnishings throughout and the paintings which adorned the villa. We immediately felt at home (not only because my wife is an artist!) but simply because the villa is homely notwithstanding the scale of the accommodation.

The gardens are a perfect complement to the villa. They have been professionally landscaped and planted and contain an impressive array of palm trees from tropical origins around the world and the flowering shrubs and plants are a joy to see. There is even an aviary in the garden with canaries which greeted us every day with their singing. However, they were out sung by the blackcap and willow warblers who were resident in the extensive shrubbery around the villa. The heated swimming pool is meticulously maintained and is set below a terraced area which has a dining table under an extendible awning alongside a dedicated BBQ which has a kitchenette with additional equipment such as a hob, fridge etc.

This villa has everything you could possibly need for a perfect holiday. In fact, we had to almost force ourselves to go out into the nearby towns of Puerto de la Cruz and Orotova as we were so content with the villa and the gardens. If you have been used to staying in the South of Tenerife where the majority of tourist accommodation is based, I cannot recommend too highly the merits of the northern end of the island and, in particular, this stunning villa which is available at what I consider to be very reasonable rental rates.
