Cocoa Beach is a great family friendly town and Sandcastles is the best weekly rental complex in Cocoa Beach. We are an hour from the Orlando attractions and 20 minutes from the Kennedy Space Center. The Brevard Zoo is near by as is the Cocoa Sports Complex. The pool, hot tub, sauna, community grill and tennis court are available if you want to take a break from the beach. The Lori Wilson park just down the beach is a great place for a picnic over looking the ocean or for a walk in the 'jungle'. The Cocoa Beach Pier is about two miles north with great food and excitement and Port Canaveral is just about 5 miles north. There you can see cruise ships as they depart or arrive back in port from several great water front restaurants if you time it right. There is a Publix and Winn Dixie just down the street and Merritt Island is just across the causeway and they have a Walmart, and a mall with a 16 screen theater. There are lots of local and chain restaurants to fill any dining desire. Just past Merritt Island you will find Cocoa which has a number of quaint shops and restaurants that you can enjoy.
Ron Jon's surf shop is right down the street as well as the Cocoa Beach surf shop and both offer lots in interesting beach related merchandise as well as rentals of beach equipment and surf lessons.
There is a gambling boat that launches out of Port Canaveral if that is an activity that you enjoy. The port also offers deep sea fishing charters for individual or group outings. The para sailing boat that calls the port home is also great fun.
If you enjoy a round of golf the Cocoa Beach Country Club (public despite the name) has a course and they have an Olympic size pool as well.

We are from KY and bought this condo in June of 2013 with hopes of becoming 'Snow Birds' someday but for now I work as a nursing home administrator and my wife, who is a nurse is also a teacher, teaching middle school special education, God bless her. We plan to visit Cocoa Beach 3 or 4 times a year and find that it feels like home. We usually drive down and it usually takes about 12 hours. Our 16 year old son loves the beach and the pool. He also loves to kayak. Our daughter is 34 and comes with us some but I am sure will want to use the unit on trips with her friends (should I give her a discount?).
Philip Gilkison purchased this condo in 2013
We have found over the years that we much prefer staying in a condo over a hotel. We have vacationed in Florida Condos many times but our favorite spot is Cocoa Beach. After looking at many units with the help of a great realtor, Jennifer McCoy with Remax Elite, we decided that Sandcastles was the best that Cocoa Beach/Cape Canaveral had to offer. I used to watch I Dream of Jennie when I was younger and appreciate the fact that we are just a short distance from I Dream of Jennie Blvd. I always keep an eye out for fancy bottles buried in the sand when we walk the beach.
We love the spacious interior, the large pool and the hot tub. The seventh floor ocean front location is second to none for ocean/beach views. We also enjoy a short walk to the the local park or to the fitness center across the street. But being right on the beach so that we can go out for an early morning walk and watch the sunrise as we walk along the quiet beach is our very most favorite thing about our vacations to Cocoa Beach. Lori Wilson Park is just about a hundred yards up the beach and it is a great place for a picnic or a walk through the 'jungle'.
Our family of four (8 year old twin daughters) enjoyed a three night stay back in mid-December of 2016. It was our first time to Cocoa Beach. We had a great time!
Philip was such a pleasure to deal with (pre and post trip) and provided all of the information we needed to access the property in a nighttime arrival without a hitch. From there it was just a matter of enjoying all that this property has to offer!
What a VIEW from the balcony! Space (no pun) galore with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen with dining room table and a living room area that hosts a huge sectional couch with tv that gets the Weather Channel. All of which is only a few short steps away from the VIEW!
There is plenty to do in the area. We chose a day trip to the Kennedy Space Center, we hit some great local seafood restaurant "shacks" for lunch and dinner, then had to check out the Cocoa Beach Pier before shopping at Ron Jon's Surf Shop. We also hit one of a few of the local grocery stores that are very close for meals & snacks to enjoy at the condo. But, best of all, and the reason for our stay in Cocoa Beach...was the Beach and having the opportunity to stay at a beachfront property!
This was our first time renting from a private homeowner and it will not be our last. With confidence we highly recommend Philip and his gorgeous corner condo with that great VIEW! We hope our travels do one day send us back to Cocoa Beach and we would without hesitation check back with Philip to see if his condo would be available to us once again!?
Wow, what a lovely condo. The pictures really does not do it justice, it is even better than it looks. We arrived to a clean, fresh and modern condo with a million dollar view! The bed was super comfy, and the bathrooms were really nice. The kitchen is super nice with all new appliances, and it was so nice to be able to cook our meals there. There is a Publix right up the street for all your grocery needs, and if you prefer to eat out, there are lots of places to eat both in Cocoa Beach and over on Merritt Island a short drive over the bridge. It is also a really nice walk up to the Pier or down to Coconuts where you can have lunch or dinner . The beach is awesome, and there are beach chairs and sun umbrellas in the condo. We didn't try the pool, but it looked very nice as well. The condo is in a great spot on Cocoa Beach, very easy to find, and it was very well maintained. We will definitely stay in this condo again if it is available next time we visit Cocoa Beac. Booking the condo was super easy, we were staying down in the Keys in a not so nice condo when we decided to find a place in Cocoa Beach for our last week of vacation. The reservation was booked in less than 15 minutes from my first message to Philip to see if the condo was available, and we were installed in the condo enjoying a glass of wine on the balcony 24 hours later. Very happy!! Customer service is the best we have encountered in all our years visiting Florida. Thank you so much for our week here, you truly have an amazing place!
Reservations were easy to make. Complex is older but we'll maitained. Heated pool and hot tub was great. Sitting on balcony watching the cruise ships was great. Would definitely recommend this condo.
Condo was clean, nicely laid out with comfortable, up to date furnishings. The only thing missing was a corkscrew.
On a return to Cocoa I would rebook if the unit was available.
From the time that I walked in I was like this is even nicer than the pics.I walked over to the balcony and saw the view of the ocean. It is amazing.Everything is decorated so well. The location is convenient to everything.I had no trouble taking a nap anytime that I wanted one.It is quiet and peaceful. It is great for any age.Me, my mother-in-law,my wife, our 16 year old daughter and our 6 year old grandson stayed here.We all loved it.Thank you for sharing your home with us.
This year was the third year we stayed at Sand Castles and this has been the best so far. We really enjoyed the ocean front room.
