About Tracey Keeven

I was raised here on the farm where the cabin is located. My husband and I have lived here since 1991. We both went to the local Steelville School and love our home town. It is a true joy to be able to share this beautiful land with our guests.

Tracey Keeven purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Tracey Keeven chose Missouri

The farm was originally owned by my great-grandfather. My grandfather was born in the original farmhouse, and my mother and her twin sister, as well as me and my daughter, have all grown up here on the farm.

What makes this cabin unique

This cabin is our way of letting other people enjoy and experience the piece of heaven that we have been so blessed to have grown up with. It is truly a spiritual feeling to wake up and see the misty morning sunrises. The peace and serenity that you will find here is priceless in today's world.

Wow. Amazing property. Amazing time

We absolutely loved this property. The cabin is very nice and all modern. It sits high up on a ridge amd over looks a valley to the river. Sunrise in the AM in the hot tub is 2nd to none. We floated a 5mi float back to our private property where the owners pick you up. Fire pit at night and BBQ. We hive this the highest ratings you can and we defi itely coming back!

Peaceful Paradise

  • 5 of 5

The Sunrise Cabin was incredible. The pictures do not do this hidden gem justice. The cabin was very clean, beautifully decorated, and comfortably furnished/appointed. Everything we needed was available for cooking and relaxing at the cabin. While the cabin itself was fabulous, it was the countryside setting and the farm that was the best part. The location of the cabin, perched on a hill overlooking the fields below and surrounded by rolling hills, was breathtaking and so peaceful. No road or car noise; only birds, crickets, cicadas, and frogs could be heard. Watching the sunrise from the back deck and sunsets from the front porch were incredible and relaxing in the hot tub each night was perfect. The farm is gorgeous...a beautiful red barn sits just up the road from the cabin front door and you are surrounded by horses and cattle in the rolling fields. You are greeted by 3 of the friendliest dogs each time you come and go.

The cabin is perfectly situated in the float capital of Missouri. We went on a tours of Onondaga Cave (highly recommended-incredible) and Meramec Caverns (interesting but definitely touristy versus educational/pretty). We kayaked on the Meramac though the bluffs and cruised Route 66 in Cuba and Sullivan. We ate at Frisco and Missouri Hick BBQ in Cuba, both were pretty good, and made frozen pizzas at the cabin.

We originally came down for the Eclipse; stayed in St Charles and watched the Eclipse in St Clair, so we decided to extend our trip and explore the Meramac Valley as I have been passing through the area on I44 for over 40 years going to my grandparents house in NW Arkansas. We had a fabulous time at the Sunrise Cabin. I am so glad we found this hidden gem. My only regret is that we didn't get to stay longer. I would love to rent the farmhouse with my whole family, but I hope to come back soon one way or another. Thank you so much for the wonderful hospitality and sharing your piece of heaven with us.

The Sunrise Cabin was perfect for our short but wonderful staycation! Watching the sun rise from the hot tub was unbelievably breathtaking! I will not only go back but will also recommend to my family and friends.
