About Kylie Quesnel

This property was owned by our Grandparents and after their passing my siblings and I purchased it from their estate. The lake house has hosted many family gatherings and holds memories of 16 Grandchildren spending summers there. We live a few towns away and look forward to sharing our special place with other families.

Kylie Quesnel purchased this chalet in 1970

Why Kylie Quesnel chose Lake Champlain Valley

This property has been in our family now for three generations. We hope to enjoy it for generations to come.

What makes this chalet unique

Our lake house has remnants of our family farm. We have an exposed beam that is from our old dairy barn in the living room and the panton stone that makes up the fireplace is hand chosen and moved from the field from farm land in Vergennes. Our lake house beams with character and will remind you of a country chalet.

excellent for young children

  • 4 of 5

The camp was clean and well kept, but the main reason for us to rent this camp was access to the water.

We have three young grandchildren and they are not the best swimmers at this point in there life.

The gentle slope into the water was easy for them to get in and out, and the dock was fun for them to jump off of.

I would rate this a five, but the neighbors are very close and could be noisy at times, also I would have like some outside trash bins, the animals got into the trash a number of times.

Great House and Great Swimming

  • 4 of 5

This was the second time we rented this home for a summer vacation. Highlights: kitchen set up is ideal to cook for a crowd, comfortable dining on the screen porch, swimming area is fantastic, walk to ice cream and store, docking available for boat. The best testament is from our Grandchildren who lovingly refer to it as the "Brown House" and was heard saying "This is the best day of my life" and "We want to live here forever!". I am sure we will be back. Yeah Brown House!

Great spot on the water of a beautiful lake.

The house is spacious and accommodated us very well. The location was great, right on the water of a quiet cove. Great hiking, biking, paddling, fishing and swimming.

Great Family Vacation with Kids

  • 4 of 5

We rented this property over my sister's wedding weekend. Instead of staying at a hotel, we all got to stay together and had a great place for the kids (ages 3-8) to play. The shallow water was perfect for the younger ones to dig with toys in the sand, while the older kids played on rafts and looked for fish by the dock. The neighbors were very friendly and didn't mind if the kids played with their water toys.

The downstairs was nicely renovated, and was a great open space. The kids loved playing foosball in the screened in porch. We didn't have many meals there because of the wedding festivities, but there were two refrigerators and plenty of cooking supplies if we had wanted to.

The upstairs was a little more dated with wood paneling, but it didn't matter because it was just a place to sleep. It would have been nice if there had been room darkening curtains in the master bedroom, but that's only because we had little ones sleeping in there with us who tuckered out before the sun went down. The pack n play had gone missing, and the owners were nice enough to bring us their own for us to borrow.

We would definitely recommend this place to anyone who has young kids. As others have mentioned, the stairs are steep, but our youngest was good about asking for help and the others did a nice job holding onto the railing.

We were very pleased with the rental. The place was clean and the bedding good. We liked the open space in the kitchen area. The beach was easy to access and the weather was perfect. We liked the fire pit and the grounds (and the neighbors.) Thanks for a wonderful time.

Exceeded expectations

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a very relaxing family vacation. This property is the ideal of peaceful surroundings. Very easy to rent kayaks or other services from the camp store on the corner. Great hiking in the surrounding national and state parks. Easy drive to the superb Shelburne Museum and also to the urban attractions in Burlington.
