About Lyndsay Newman
We live in Bristol and have a rural family business in Somerset. I also work as a part-time community worker in Somerset. Our 2 children are now at West Country Universities. We enjoy spending as much time as we can at our cottage, walking, cycling, and visiting friends and family.
Lyndsay Newman purchased this Farmhouse in 2012
Why Lyndsay Newman chose Sancreed
We both holidayed in Cornwall as children and my family moved to West Penwith 25 years ago. My mother lives in a nearby village. The sense of peace in Sancreed is magical, the views from the house are spectacular, and the surrounding area and beaches are wonderful. We can be at the beach in 10 minutes but also pop into Newlyn to stock up on fish in less than 10 minutes. We fell in love with the cottage when we saw it. It suits us perfectly.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
The cottage gets flooded with light most of the day. It is south facing with great views. The rooms are attractively decorated with some original artwork on the walls. We love the gardens which surround the cottage too. The lane is so quiet you are far more likely to see a walker/cyclist/horse than a car!

A week at Newington Farmhouse
A lovely house in a nice position. Great garden which should be secure for most dogs and good views down to Mounts Bay.
The house is comfortable with everything you need and the bed is comfy - don't know about the other two bedrooms as they were not used!!
Only a short trip by car to the shops - main supermarkets in Penzance - about 15 minutes with "local" shops in Newlyn.
Excellent country retreat
Lovely spacious property with a large garden in a peaceful location. Beaches and local towns, Newlyn and Mousehole, all within an easy car ride.
Home from Home
We loved Newington Farmhouse. From the moment we arrived it was clear that this was a much loved happy home and not just a holiday let. Everything we could have needed was provided. It is a comfortable warm house with lovely garden which thanks to the good weather we had the opportunity to enjoy. It is a little remote but this is more than compensated for by the beautiful peaceful surroundings. Lyndsey is most definitely a Super Host.
Thank you Marie. we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay in our home and found it comfortable and well equipped and enjoyed our garden. We would be very happy if you wanted to return.
Great cottage, very cosy. A very enjoyable experience.
The cottage is warm and cosy. Very peaceful. Easy access to some great beaches like sennen, Hayle and Carbis bay and towns like St. Ives and penzance. Enjoyed some great food at the old success Inn at sennen and the gurnards head. Everywhere is really dog friendly. We all had a great time and will definitely be booking again. Many thanks, Darren, Jo, mo and Mable.
Thank you Darren.

Newington Farmhouse is a must stay!
This property is perfect and in a stunning location. We would definitely return and recommend to friends and family. It’s the perfect bolt hole for all seasons! We were there over the Christmas holidays and had a wonderful stay. Thank-You, Lyndsay.

A comfortable and well equipped cottage, with stunning rural views
We very much enjoyed staying in this property, which was perfectly placed for us to explore the Penwith peninsula. We visited St Ives Sennen, Porthcurno and Zennor and walked from the house to the Holy Well and Sancreed Beacon. The little porch at the front of the house is a real sun trap and there are plenty of places to sit in the garden. The large wood burning stove in the main sitting room looked as though it would make this a really cosy place to stay in the winter too and we would love to come back.
Thanks Rosemarie. I am so pleased that you had a good holiday and found Newington Farmhouse a restful and comfortable place to stay. We would be delighted if you wanted to come back.
The village of Sancreed is in the Lands End peninsular and so is only a few miles from the expansive surf beach of Sennen on the north coast of Cornwall, yet it is also close to the sheltered coves of Porthcurno, Lamorna and Mousehole on the south coast. The Minack Theatre and St Michaels Mount are both located a few miles away. The fishing port of Newlyn with its vibrant harbour is just three miles away whilst the thriving market towns of Penzance and St Just are close by. St Ives is only a short drive away and is famous for the large artist's community and sandy beaches. For trips further afield Lands End airport flies regularly to the Scilly Isles. The village of Sancreed is designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty making it a popular destination for walkers. The Holy Well, the Beacon, a stone circle and an Iron Age village are all within walking distance of the cottage. Guests enjoy the tranquillity of a cottage which is only a stone's throw from so many holiday activities. The recent film, Summer In Februaury, focuses on the lives of artists living in the area at the turn of the century. Indeed Florence Munnings, around whom the book and film centre, along with Stanhope and Elizabeth Forbes, are buried in Sancreed churyard.
