Come visit this beautiful log home on Lake Barkley with extensive decking overlooking the lake and the Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreational Area. The cabin has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, laundry, sun room/reading room, and central heat and air.
The cabin sleeps 8 comfortably. Boating, fishing, swimming, and sunbathing are just out the back door. Nearby you can find horseback riding, go for a bike ride, or get wild and crazy on your ATV at Turkey Creek in LBL. Traveling west to Aurora, you will find Kentucky Lake State Park, host of the Hot August Blues Festival. Head east to Cadiz, home of the Trigg County Ham Festival, and you will find several antique shops, 2 nearby golf courses, tennis courts, walking trails, and much much more.
This log cabin is situated on the main lake with fabulous views year round and is conveniently located less than a mile from the main highway (US 68/80). Although no dock permits are granted on the main channel; the public boat ramp is just a mile down the road with very easy access. I also have dock access at the end of the street.
Wi-Fi and Dish Network are included. Verizon and ATT work well inside and out. To the best of my knowledge, all cell carriers work outside the cabin.
If you need anything at all, I live at the end of the street and will do my best to make your stay at the lake an enjoyable one! Included with your stay is a 5 person pass to the fitness center at nearby Lake Barkley State Park. This is a great place to unwind after a long day of sight seeing or a great place to take the kids on a rainy day. They offer racquetball, indoor pool, sauna, steam room, free weights, treadmills, nautilus machines, and workout classes. You will find the pass laying on the table with the house key.
No more than 2 pets are allowed. There is a $50 fee for each pet.
There is room for 4-5 cars in the driveway. There is plenty of room for over flow parking, just let me know and I’ll show you where it is.
Free wifi is provided. It is sometimes slow and unreliable but is the best we have in our area.
ALL your linens are provided. I always recommend bringing your pillow for your comfort.
The kitchen has basic pots and pans and utensils for your general cooking needs.
There is a full size fridge and freezer in the kitchen.
The neighborhood is located on a dead end street and is usually very quiet.
Our neighbors’ kids play in the street so please drive with caution.
The grill is propane and the propane is provided. Bring a lighter as ours tend to walk off.
The outdoor grill is not cleaned by the cleaning staff, please clean up after yourself. Also, please
excuse the last guest for not listening to the first part of this statement.
The steps on the deck will lead you all the way to the shoreline.
The water is gently sloping and you can swim from the shore.
The bottom of the lake is rocky and semi-muddy. I recommend wearing lake shoes.
Yes, you can fish from the shoreline. KY fish and game laws apply.
Yes, you can use my covered dock at the end of the street. Everyone is welcome to come to the end of the street and use my lot on the point. I do ask that you respect our privacy.
The pontoons we have available for rent : 2001 monsoon 24’ pontoon with an Mercury 65hp 4 stroke engine. Also available is a 2003 Crest also with a 60hp 4 stroke Mercury. These are shared between all of our rental houses and I do recommend you reserve in advance. Both rent for $200 cash or $225 with credit card (daily) including one tank of fuel per day. Additional fuel can be purchased at lake barkley marina. We do have 2 tubes for rent for $25 cash or $30 with credit card (daily). The pontoon is always docked at our COVERED dock. Once I have given you safety instructions you are allowed to use the boat from sunrise to sunset. !!!NO night use!!! If you are out after dark I will assume you are missing and emergence personnel will be notified. No charge for rain outs. We do not offer half day rentals.
I always recommend you bring your food with you. Our grocery stores are no comparison to the stores most are used to in the city. I am (almost) always available by phone or email. Our cell service isn’t always the best so please leave a voicemail if I do not answer.
Fireplace is for looks only and is NOT functional.
We also have 2 kayaks available.

I own a sawmill just down the road and we do some property management along with many other endeavors. We purchased The Log Cabin in early May 2013 and have been rapidly doing some much needed maintenance. Please bear with us as we continue making improvements.

I have lived in this neighborhood my entire life. In 2007, I purchased this residence from my grandparents who had been here for 35 years and they actually watched as The Log Cabin was originally constructed. As a kid, I grew up at the house at the end of this same street and recently had the opportunity to purchase that very house. My wife and I are super excited to be moving to the point!
This is a quiet neighborhood on the water. The multiple decks leading down to the lake give you the opportunity to experience several views of the water and the Barkley Bridge. On quiet mornings or early twilight, I have seen otters, beavers, deer, geese, ducks, and plenty of fish floppings! From time to time, an adult eagle can be seen hunting in the bay area.
We loved staying in the cabin! The location was great, the view was spectacular!!! It has everything you needed and then some. We really enjoying hanging out in the cabin, just relaxing as well as venturing out on some days. Would definitely recommend this cabin! Thank you Lucas for the great communication, before, during and after our stay.
Everything was ready for us when we arrived after dark just like the listing promised and clean. Can't think of anything else we could have asked for. The view of the lake/river was great. There are plenty of amenities nearby. We took the short drive into Cadiz and ate at a good restaurant the first night. Hopefully next time we will get to stay a little longer. We would HIGHLY recommend this property to anyone. Thank you!!
My family and I met here for Thanksgiving, and the house was very nice! The view of the lake and the decks out back are really great. The house was clean and well-stocked (we cooked Thanksgiving meal here, so that was important). The neighborhood is cute, and great for walks or runs. Love that the house is dog-friendly! And the owner, Lucas, was very nice and easily accessible if we needed anything.
Oh my goodness - where do I start? When we first booked this delightful cabin, we had a few questions, since we hadn't stayed in this area before. Lucas was so kind (and patient!) to give us the information we needed and more. I mention that he was patient, because a few other questions came up later, and he was always prompt and informative then also. When we got to the cabin, the family members who were meeting us for our stay had already arrived, and came rushing out to tell us what a great place it was. Boy, were they right! The cabin sits on a hill above Barkley Lake, and has both a glassed-in porch and a back deck, both with a fantastic view of the lake! Inside there's a nice open-concept area with living room, kitchen (with two kinds of coffee-makers!) and dining space as well as a bedroom, bath and laundry room downstairs. Upstairs there's another bathroom with a nice deep tub and plenty more sleeping space. Our granddaughter was so delighted with the bedroom area she claimed as her own special space! Beyond the deck, there's a set of steps and landings leading down to the water, another smaller deck with chairs and a table at the shore, and a canoe to explore the lake. In the cabin, there were lots of brochures and booklets that we used as guides to the area, and made some fun discoveries. The very best was the Elk and Bison Prairie not far from the cabin, and thanks to the brochure, we went in the late afternoon and saw an amazing number of the animals literally "up close and personal"! In short, we had an absolutely wonderful four-night stay, and look forward to another whenever we can plan it!!
Our stay at this comfortable and spacious log house was just what we were looking for. We loved the view of the lake and the spacious deck close to the water for quiet lunches and reading. We also enjoyed raquetball with the free pass to the state resort a few miles away, one of the perks that comes along with this property. Lucas, the property owner, is readily available for any needs or questions and is very helpful and friendly. Convenient location for lake activity and LBTL. Great place!
