If you want a quiet place to enjoy the beach with access to all the amenities a beach resort has to offer you cannot go wrong with our house in Ocean Pines.
This property has been in our family for about 45 years. Our mother is one of the last five remaining charter members of Ocean Pines. The original 'cottage' that was built here was taken off the foundation and a new home was built in 2001.
This is the first time the home has been offered for rental. My sister and I have attempted to ensure that our home is as enjoyable to you as it is to us.
There are numerous upgrades to the home such as new furniture and appliances.
Matt Ballenger or Wendy Subasic purchased this house in 1968
This is the third year we have stayed at this house. It is always neat, clean and very comfortable. Matt is great to work with and very accommodating. It's very nice to sit out on the canal and watch the boats go by. We had a great vacation.
It's the third time in six years that we've rented a house in Ocean Pines, and this house was the best Ocean Pines rental to date. We really enjoyed having a family room, a den and a separate covered porch for evening games, movies and family fun. We were able to easily sleep 6 people for the entire week, and the Kitchen worked well for preparing lunches/dinners while being able to watch the young kids running around. Another big plus for this house, unlike others we've had in Ocean Pines and other areas around OCMD, is that it's in touch with the 21st century. DirecTV with DVR to record shows, good WiFi -- you can continue living in today's technology-driven world and be attached to the office and the outside world while on vacation. We were a bit bummed that the paddle boat advertised in the VRBO listing wasn't there anymore, but we had a really great week nonetheless.
My only small complaint would be the cleaning service. And I'm saying that while at the same time acknowledging that this was the cleanest rental we've had in Ocean Pines. When we walked in -- it looked/smelled really clean -- but this turned out to be mostly cosmetic. When you really get into the house, we found clumps of dog hair, window sills with significant amounts of dust, etc.. Again, to be fair, this seems to be par for the course with most rental houses. The cleaning services don't do a great job -- they seem to be content with the bare minimum -- so maybe we just need to lower our expectations for next year.
Overall, a great week. Good communication and customer service from the owner, we'd definitely recommend this property to others.
This was the second year we stayed at this house and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was as advertised with big rooms, fully equipped kitchen and a great screened in porch. We look forward to coming back next year. The house is convenient to the beach and restaurants.
Great vacation home at the beach. Large home with plenty of space for a large family. Open floor plan made meal preparation and family interaction an easy task. Kitchen well equipped. Bike and hiking paths close by. Very convenient to beach and entertainment.
Stayed at this home with our grown sons, their wives, one active grandchild, and our medium sized dog. The home was exactly as expected. Very nice yard out front for "Buddy" and lots of space inside. Was very nice to have the den off the kitchen so we could separate kid TV from sports for the adults while still being within earshot of eachother. Kitchen was well equipped. Master bedroom was very large - actually put the dog kennel in there and had more than enough room. Bathrooms aren't shown in the pics but were large and well maintained. The house was VERY clean upon arrival, which is huge. Have rented VRBO homes on many occasions and this isn't always the case. This was among the cleanest. Was AWESOME not to have to take linens - this was also a bonus without extra charges and the bed linens were good, not cheap. This home is within walking distance of one of the parks with activities for the entire family and close to the opening to the bay so our kayakers don't have to go far to get to open water. Having the parking pass for the beach in OC was great and the pool/club there is a great amenity - takes about 15 minutes to get there and well worth it. Also visited the Mumford's landing pool - swimming with a beatiful bay view, perfect setting. Pools and clubhouses also very clean. Altogether, great choice.
My family and I stayed at the house for a week and had a great time. The pictures accurately reflect how the house looks and it was very neat. The house sits on a canal and it was very quite and relaxing. We would definitely look to stay here again next summer.
Just minutes from Ocean City beaches and Assateague Island with wild ponies and abundant wildlife. Minutes from the historic town of Berlin. Plenty of golf courses nearby.
