About Cor van den Akker

Great view and totally relaxed.
I really loved staying at this modern boat. The space is very bright and surrounded with windows so we could perfectly follow the adventures of the storks that were building their nest on the other side of the river.
Our family loved our stay here. The birds outside were wonderful and the kids loved feeding the ducks. Cor was a wonderful host.
Thanks again for your visit. It was a pleasure to host you and your family.
I heart it was a pleasure for you to stay in our houseboat Puur in Vreeland. Know you are always warmly welcome back again.
All the best to you.
We stayed in this property for 8 days, great 8 days. We contact the owner, Cor and he mentioned that he didnt have the property available on our dates but we could stay in his daughter house for a few days and then change into this watervilla. The houseboats are "neighbours" so we agree. Both properties are great, the space was perfect and more than enough for my mother in law, my husband, two children and me. The kitchen is well equipped, with top of the line coffeemaker and Cor provides the coffee (thank you Cor!). The watervilla was clean and everything was in working order. The views from the living area are breathtaking, as mentioned before is in a rural area 40 minutes tops to Amsterdam by car. The area around, Loenen and Breukelen are very charming towns, we decided to stay around the area a couple of days to enjoy them. Cor and his family were the perfect hosts, his grandchildren are adorable and our kids were every afternoon after our daily tours were looking forward to arrive to play with them. A neighbour even took them for a boat trip one afternoon!. My mother in law has lots of problems waking and still was not bad for her going down the stairs to her bedroom. Upstairs there is a half toilet which we found it very convinient. Cor was always there to help. We hope we can be back in a near future. Thank you Cor for everything.
Wonderful stay in a wonderful location
To be fair, the place we actually stayed at is only a couple houses away, but own by Cor. Ok, now on to the review. We were very fortunate that we driving into the area. The houseboat is located out in a rural part of the Netherlands, outside of Amsterdam, which was very relaxing. This was something that we were really looking forward to. We had been in contact with the owner (Cor) the entire time prior to our arrival. He was always available to answer any questions that we might have. Cor was not able to meet us when we arrived because his children had planned an outing for him and his wife, being that it was their 40th anniversary, but he still made sure that we had everything we needed. One of the neighbors even came over and checked on us. The house was just as advertised. It is on a nature preserve with plenty of ducks, geese, and swans to keep you in awe. My son had a blast feeding the ducks, it was a great experience for him. The house was very clean, and had everything we needed. The area is nice and quiet, but I still think there is enough going on out there where you don't feel like you are alone. If you are driving or you will have a rental car, just be aware that the road on the way to the house is narrow, and you need to have some European driving experience to appreciate the side pull-off for passing. Having a car also helped with going back and for to the train station, and going to the next village over for some shopping (wine and what not). We would definitely go back to this place, as the house was great, in a great location, and the owner was a ultra nice guy. Thanks Cor for the wonderful stay. Hope to meet you in the future.
Bed and Breakfast Vreeland is a modern houseboat (4 room) apartment on the river ‘De Vecht’ only 15 minutes from Amsterdam. Right in the middle of one of the most beautiful rural areas of Holland, the bed and breakfast has an amazing view on a small nature reserve. Unlike staying in a mayor luxury hotel in Amsterdam, at bed and breakfast Vreeland you can expect a unique experience and service.
Imaging being awakened by the sound of ducks, storks or coots and being served a delicious breakfast on your own terrace facing the water. Or at night, relaxing on the roofterrace counting the stars with a good bottle of wine. Maybe it’s not luxury in a ‘gold bathtub & butler on your doorstep” kind of way, but we will garantee it’s luxury in the sense of total relaxation and personal service
