This room comes with a writing desk for you to work on your laptop or use as an office and take breaks on the bed. ;-)

Outside lounge area with hotel quality furniture for that afternoon read or outdoor lunch. There is even a tea cart that facilitates bringing things from the kitchen. We love the cart ourselves ;-).

Perfect location to stay at if you come in a couple days early for your cruise or to stay in town after your cruise.

We don't mind picking you up from the airport: Long Beach airport is the closest or LAX. Since we are only 5 minutes away from the cruise ships we can pick you up or drop you off all for an extra nominal fee. Let us know what your needs are ahead of time and we will do our best to accommodate them.

You may on occasion spot our pet Bunnies hopping around outside. We rescued and adopted a few. On occasion we have foster bunnies too.

Picture yourself here... just bring your suitcase and you are home!

About Jane

We are both educators. Gene is in admin. at a local elementary school. Jane teaches art at the elementary and university level. We have 2 grown children. We just remodeled our guest house and have had a lot of fun doing it. This is our first property together. We love to travel and enjoy sharing travel adventure stories with fellow travelers. We have a bunny that you'll fall in love with too.

Jane purchased this bungalow in 2013

Why Jane chose San Pedro

San Pedro is a port district of the city of Los Angeles. It is a harbor town rich in history. From once being the fishing port in the nation to now having the USS Iowa, Point Fermin, near Terranea Resort, Long Beach. Generations of families still live in the community. It is quite a unique place a small town within large Los Angeles, kind of like the last little secret harbor town. We love that.

What makes this bungalow unique

You'll find our home has been restored as much as possible to be charming and honor the vintage Spanish style bungalow that it is. It is cozy in the sense of feeling like home immediately. You'll love the completely new kitchen, original vintage tile in the bathroom, new TV, cellar, and bedrooms. Original hardwood floors, coved ceilings and hallway niche. Everything you need is here, books, dishes, board games, linens...just bring your clothes. Look for our pet bunny grazing in the yard. She is friendly and likes to play. We live in the front house, so we are within reach. We are also happy to serve as your concierge. :-)

Warm and welcoming

  • 4 of 5

This little house was so great! Jane and Gene were very welcoming and helpful. The house had everything we needed- from laundry soap and olive oil to a step stool and umbrella stroller for the kids. It was walking distance to a grocer and it looked like busses picked up there too. We spent some beautiful time at nearby cabrillo beach and even saw some dolphins playing. The street parking situation was a little more stressful than we hoped for, but was on par with most of our experiences living in major cities. Jane and Gene even went extra miles to help us snag parking when they could- and of course they are honest about the parking in their property description. We would use this place again if our travels bring us back to LA- it was worth every penny.

Cute charmer with many original features tucked away behind the main house in a delightful courtyard

  • 5 of 5

Exceptionally clean and charming with pretty much everything you need for a relaxing stay. The home is situated behaind the main house in a quiet courtyard setting with plenty of areas to relax in. The location and proximity to the many beaches and attractions was near perfect! Beach toys and towels were supplied for us. Street parking was not a problem, the nieghbors we met were really nice and Starbucks is right around the corner! Gene and Jane were great hosts, very friendly and even visited with us one evening to let my grandsons meet the bunnies that they rescue! Would definately stay here again if in the area.

What a charmer!

  • 5 of 5

The home was extremely clean and well maintained - even the basement was spotless! The pictures show exactly what is offered, although I thought the property was even more charming than the pictures showed. The offer beach toys, beach towels, car booster seats and a stroller for use if needed. The owners were very easy to work with and remarkably detailed in their Welcome Book. We liked the fact that the home is on the same property the owners live, so they are easily accessible for questions or concerns.

We chose San Pedro due to it's close proximity to beaches and parks for our little ones. Plan to travel a little ways if you want anything other than pizza and Mexican food. The Green Onion was only 10 minutes away and the food and atmosphere was great.

I would definitely stay here again if we come back to the area.

Wonderful experience!

  • 5 of 5

A very charming home that is clean, comfortable and very welcoming. We had everything we needed as the kitchen and bath were well stocked with essentials. We slept wonderfully every night on a very comfortable bed. We very much enjoyed relaxing on the patio as well. The pictures and descriptions are exactly as they appear. We hope to stay again in the future and definitely highly recommend this cozy little gem!
