Great house in a great location

  • 5 of 5

My family and I have rented this house several times over the past couple of years. It has been like a home away from home for us - comfortable, warm and in a great location. We love walking into the village and hitting the restaurants & shops. The house is always clean, service has been professional and kind. I highly recommend it as an anchor to a mid Hudson Valley trip.

Perfect Property For a Christmas Getaway

  • 5 of 5

The property had everything we wanted! It accommodated 6 adults, and it was only a 2 block walk to the heart of town. The house is lovely and warm, we had everything we needed to cook several large meals. This house was so thoughtfully put together for visitors it was amazing.

Nice escape!

  • 5 of 5

This house is quaint and, for the most part, well-appointed. Good escape for a group of friends sharing a house for a weekend or a small family.

PROS: A quick 5 minute walk to town for pharmacy, groceries, coffee, etc. 24/7 gas station across the street makes it easy to get forgotten supplies. Lake (though not visible from the house) is cute.

CONS: Kitchen does not have dishwasher. Kitchen also lacks certain obvious 'nice to haves' - extra trash bags, more than 2 dish rags, paper towels / toilet paper (we ran out of both after the first night). Dining room does not have sufficient chairs for 8 guests. If you want to be in the middle of the woods, look elsewhere - this is directly on a main road.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your feedback! I'm very sorry you did not locate the back up supplies, I wish you would have contacted us so we could have directed you to their location. We provide a few extra garbage bags, two rolls of paper towels and four rolls of toilet tissue for a normal weekend stay. We have also since changed our dining room configuration to include seating for eight. We hope to see you again!

Great house and wonderful town!

  • 5 of 5

Loved this house - very close to town for easy walks to restaurants and bars, the house was very comfortable and clean, and the off-street parking was an added bonus!

We were in Rhinebeck for a wedding and were pleasantly surprised by the wonderful little town. Great food, good shopping, and also close to other attractions like Hyde Park (I would recommend Rhinebeck over Hyde Park).

This house made the entire trip easy and worry free - definitely recommended!

3 minute walk to downtown Rhinebeck!

  • 4 of 5

You will like the location of this cute house within a stroll of downtown Rhinebeck! However, you do need to know it is on a busy street (so street noise), the kitchen is small, poorly lit (especially in the evening), has no dishwasher and the lake mentioned is up behind the house out of view. However, the folks who rent the property are very friendly, responsive, and extremely attentive. A pleasure to deal with. They came immediately when asked and replaced 2 light bulbs and fixed a squeaky screen door. Everything was very clean and for the most part well maintained. Front porch is great to sit out on and have a cocktail in the evening. Dining room choice of Ikea-like modern furniture was functional, although we thought a bit out-of-character for the house. If you are planning on cooking more than a simple breakfast, check what is provided in kitchen so you know what to bring, only very basic supplies provided. We were disappointed, for instance, not to find candle holders, candles or placemats with which to dress up the table for dinner. (We had found items like this in other VRBO houses we've rented.) The 4 upstairs bedrooms were perfectly adequate as were the full baths up and downstairs. We enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful Home Near The Quaint Town of Rhinebeck

  • 5 of 5

We loved every minute of our stay in Rhinebeck! The house is immaculately clean and is full of character at every turn. We stayed with 6 adults and 2 children (1 baby and 1 toddler) and it was a perfect fit. Walking distance to downtown Rhinebeck. A must stay!

Nestled in the heart of the Hudson Valley, Rhinebeck has something for everyone. Two hours from New York City by car or by Amtrak, the village has a small town feel with cute shops and a wonderful vibe. With the Culinary Institute only 15 minutes away, the whole region is peppered with great restaurants, farmer's markets and local meat and produce shops. There are countless parks where you can take a casual stroll over looking the Hudson or do some of the most serious hiking and rock climbing on the East Coast. Rich in history, the Hudson River Valley has historical sites, mansions to tour and old towns and villages, some dating back three hundred years. You can get a taste of country life with a hayride or pick-your-own farms or explore nearby places like Woodstock, Hudson, Millbrook and Kingston. For the kids, there is the Old Aerodrome, which has antique airplanes on display and air shows. For older kids, horse farms, sportsman’s clubs, golf courses, and dozens of streams and lakes for fishing surround Rhinebeck. Bard College and the Fisher Center for the Arts is only ten minutes away.
