The apartment in the Chalet Saphir is one-of-a-kind in Grindelwald in terms of size, views, location, convenience and style. It is spacious (80 m2) one bedroom apartment with magnificent unobstructed view of Eiger from it’s large 30 m2 terrace. It is located on a private street, off the main access road to Grindelwald, with just under 10 min walk to the Manlnlichen gondola or Grund train station as well to the center of Grindelwald. There is a bus stop 50 m from the Chalet useful for skiers but it is also running in summer.

The Chalet Saphir has an underground parking garage with heated access road in winter, inside there is an elevator, ski room and a spacious laundry room with washer and dryer. The apartment has an open floor plan with hallway, living room, dinning room and kitchen combined in one large room. It is elegantly decorated and furnished. The kitchen has granite countertops and is fully equipped. The 25 m2 bedroom has a king size bed (200cmx200cm) with the high quality pillow-top mattress. There is an ample space to unpack with three large closets and three large chests.

About The Owner

We are a couple living in Massachusetts that loves adventure travel, skiing and hiking. For many years we were spending a lot of time in the Alps. Some time ago we had an opportunity to build a custom apartment in a new chalet in Grindelwald. It was furnished and decorated in the highest standards and taste as our second home. We are coming to it during all seasons but when not used by ourselves, we are making it available to a larger public that could appreciate its value, style, convenience and charm. The attached photos tell the rest of the story.

Why The Owner chose Grindelwald

We love Grindelwald and its surroundings. From Grindelwald is a train that goes to Top of Europe, Jungfraujoch (3454 m). Nearby city of Interlaken has beautiful lakes, Alpine villages Murren and Wengen are also top tourist attraction just to mention a few in the area.

What makes this apartment unique

Grindelwald is one of the most popular world's resort and for good reasons. For active people it offers many choices both in winter and summer. The scenery does not have its equal anywhere in the Alps and there are ski lifts, trains, and trails for every level and degree of difficulties. Late spring and autumn are much more quiet giving a taste of a true alpine village and offering different light and more colors.
