The beaches of Covelo are only 100m and the village of Samieira is 1km with shops and bars.
There are several restaurants within walking distance, Taverna Caracol is especially lovely, sitting right on the seas edge. Be sure to read the reviews on the Hotel Caracol page of our website.
About the area: Pontevedra town is only 10 km and a must to visit, Sanxenxo, the busiest seaside resort in the area is 5km, it is the choice of Spanish holiday makers. Cambarro is a wonderful village of historic importance and is only 3km.
There are many great places to visit and beaches galore.
This is an ideal base to explore Galicia or just to have a lazy beach holiday.
For more details and pictures of the area visit our website which is listed after the calendar section.
How to get here: When booking flights from UK, Ryanair fly from Stansted to Santiago de Compestela, only 45 minutes drive, also take a look at O Porto in Portugal. The journey is only 1 hour 30 minutes easy drive, and is nearly always the best value. Flights to O Porto leave from Stanstead, Birmingham and Bristol.
Easyjet also fly to O Porto from Gatwick.
Vueling Airlines operate flights from Heathrow to Vigo, only a 30 minutes drive away and La Coruna1 hour 30 minutes drive.
A Spanish Golf holiday with a diference: Meis golf course is only 15 minutes from the hotel.
Set amongst the tranquil pine forests that cap the top of the mountain, this championship course is a fantastic venue to play.
The tree lined fairways have many natural hazards as well as lakes and bunkers, making this a tough but
rewarding 18 holes.
Because you are in Galicia there is no starting your rounds a 5am to avoid the searing heat of the south
and none of the queues either, just perfect hot sunny days through the summer and mild for the rest of the year.
When you are done, relax in the club house and enjoy a glass of Albarino wine while soaking up the amazing views.
We will be happy to book a round for you if required, of if you are in a society we can arrange your tour completely, playing at several local courses and arrange green fees, transport, and catered or self catering accommodation.
We were really impressed with this modern, bright apartment. Really large terrace to enjoy the sun and to have bbq's in the evening. Really close to the beach and so many more to choose from all within a very short distance. Combarro village is close by and has all the bars and restaurants you could wish for plus a large square and play areas to keep the children happy whilst we enjoyed a glass of wine in the sun! Cannot reccommend this apartment and area highly enough and we have already booked to come back in 2012
Apartment Covelo is located next to the sea on the Ria of Pontevedra in the village of Samieira.
The towns and villages of Pontevedra, O Grove, Sanxenxo, Combarro and many more are all within easy reach.
The area boasts more blue flag beaches than any where else in Spain.
The surrounding mountains and countryside are great for walking and there are lots of small villages to discover off the beaten track.
The food is traditionally Galician - wonderful marisco, fresh seafood and succulent local meats all washed down with locally produced wines, Albariño, Ribieiro and Mencia.
There are many day excursion available and favourite are the boat trips to the Isles of Cies and Ons.
