This is our second stay here, what better way to say how inviting the property is.
Our second visit here and not our last. Cottage is in a great area, not too far from pebbles for shopping and only 20 mins from glentress. David is a lovely host who leaves a great welcome gift basket on arrival.
A great cosy cottage for a bicycling break.
As a family of four with a dog we found the cottage suited us all. A lovely welcome hamper set us up for our stay with a well-equipped kitchen and surround sound TV in the lounge to relax in front of after a day on the bikes. It was really useful to have such good bike storage and washing facilities. We all enjoyed the games table too in the mezzanine room. The beds were comfortable for a good rest after an active day we slept soundly in such a peaceful spot. The location was great for access to Glentress or for a trip to Edinburgh. Helpful maps and guides in the cottage directed me to some lovely walks with the dog too.
Lovely lodge in beautiful surroundings
My husband and I stayed at Pine Lodge for a week in September 2018 and we had a lovely time. David is friendly and welcoming and has thought of every comfort for your stay, down to the smallest of details. The welcome pack was perfect and greatly appreciated and the information folder was excellent to help us plan our holiday activities. We enjoyed seeing the variety of wildlife near the lodge.
We recommend the Horseshoe inn in Eddleston for a fantastic meal. The bus stop is opposite the inn and stops a couple of minutes walk from the lodge. The ‘steak on a hot stone’ experience at Barony Castle was excellent too. Pine lodge is the perfect location to stay somewhere which is off the beaten track, with home comforts, easy connections to Edinburgh and Peebles and the beautiful Scottish countryside on your doorstep to explore. Making it the perfect place for any adventures you want. Whether that’s relaxing, walking, cycling and much more.
Immaculate accommodation in an ideal location for Edinburgh and the Border region
This cottage is absolutely spot on for 4 adults or a family looking to explore this area of Scotland. It is easy to find and yet has a delightful rural location only 100 metres from the main Edinburgh to Peebles road. Immaculately presented by the owner and a very warm and informative welcome was complimented by a very good hamper that meant even if you arrived late you had enough to keep you going until you had chance to shop for food. The accommodation is very well presented and has plenty of space with modern fixtures and fittings. We couldn't think of a way to improve the cottage in terms of a holiday property. It has a particularly nice touch of having bird feeders at many windows which attract a variety of birds and make an interesting alternative to watching tv. We would have no hesitation returning to Pine Lodge or recommending it to friends. Well worth a visit if you want something self-catering in this part of the world.
We had a very happy 3 days at the property, perfect for our needs.
Everything we needed, clean, comfortable and friendly owner. Will come again!
We had a great stay at Pine Lodge, with a lovely welcome basket full of goodies awaiting our arrival. The cottage is very well equipped, would definitely recommend. Our son especially loved the football table!
