We were absolutely awed when we arrived at the house. The pictures truly do not do it justice. The place is massive, the hosts warm, friendly and extremely accommodating. The feeling of being welcomed and cared for permeated every corner of the home and the little touches like a fully loaded welcome basket loaded with essentials brought a tear to our eye.
The setting is magical, utterly quiet, the air crisp and clean, unbelievable array of facilities, great people, impeccable quality home close to shops and Edinburgh city centre. 10/10 would love to stay there again. Definitely recommend!
Had a lovely 4 nights stay over Christmas at Pine Lodge. Cottage beautiful with everything that you could need, welcome basket which even contained treat for our puppy. Highly recommended. Nice area we will certainly return in the spring.
Great for a short stay in the boarders & near Edinburgh.
Nice cottage , well equipped, and great service and welcome from the owner.
We really enjoyed our stay here. Waking up to birds feeding right outside the window made us want to stay in bed all day. The house itself is breathtaking, it's clean and tidy and decorated to a very high standard, you get an invite to knock on to the owners house to say hi but it's not a necessary and they don't bother you, you can come and go as you please. There is a brilliant file which tells you everything from how things work to what animals you may see and to different places to visit around the area. I would highly recommend this property and we will be booking to go ourselves again.
What a great cottage. It was perfect for our family of 4. It has everything you need and lots more. The gift basket was thoughtful and convenient. The caretaker is kind and available and willing to help. The location allows a countryside experience with easy access to Edinburgh. We'd stay again in a second.
Pine Lodge Letting, located in Waterheads, is a comfortable, relaxing place to call "home" for a week, and the neighborhood is a beautiful, quiet area. Beds are comfortable and the bedding is of good quality. The kitchen and dishes are clean. The apartment is attached to the owners house and is well maintained. The owner is accessible and helpful but not interfering.
Waterheads is close to many area tourist attractions, and Peebles for shopping. Dawyck Botanic Garden is close by and worth a visit. Walking paths in the area are fabulous! Whitmuir the organic restaurant and shop was a nice place for lunch and to shop for fresh vegetables.
We would recommend this property for anybody looking for a quiet place to relax and enjoy activities the area has to offer.
Pine Lodge is nestled in a woodland setting with bird life such as nuthatches, woodpeckers, owls, and buzzards viewable around the cottage.
