About Ailsa Wilson

I live in Australia, but was born in Scotland. Both my brother and mother live in St Andrews and so it makes sense to own some property in the area.

Ailsa Wilson purchased this cottage in 2012

Why Ailsa Wilson chose Saint Andrews

We bought this property because we love the town of St Andrews - it holds a special place for us, as we were married here, and enjoyed our wedding reception at the Old Course Golf and Country Club. We also have a lot of family living in this area.

What makes this cottage unique

I love our cottage because it is just so cosy and so completely central to everything you could want from the town of St Andrews. It's age gives it history, and stories yet to unfold!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Just wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful time in St Andrews at the weekend. The cottage was fab!

amazing spot in an amazing town!

  • 5 of 5

what a gem of a cottage! i could gush about the perfect location, the adorable garden and sun room, or the beautifully decorated bedrooms, but you should just go to St. Andrew's and stay at this amazing property to see for yourselves. the owner was extremely helpful and responsive (alerting me in advance to some nearby construction that didn't remotely impede our enjoyment in any way) and the home was exactly as pictured and described. well stocked and neat as a pin, i would highly recommend this property--and hope to return again with my own family!

Perfect location, quaint property!

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 5 stayed here for 5 days and the location could not be better to the Old Course, Taste Coffee Shop, Market Street/Restaurants and shops. Also, just a short walk to the Castle and Cathedral. The house was comfortable and the outdoor garden was so nice in the evenings. Everything was in working order as well. Would highly recommend this property!

Amazing Location

  • 5 of 5

The location of the “Bunker” was so convenient to everything a St. Andrew’s tourist might want or need.....restaurants, the Old Course, shopping, St. Andrews University, and a grocery store.

In addition to a great location the house is cozy, clean and large enough for three couples to rent comfortably. There are no hidden downsides to this property. You will love it.

The charming medieval town of St. Andrews has much to offer its visitors. It is the home of golf as well as the oldest University in Scotland. It has a fascinating history, beautiful beaches and walks and excellent restaurants. It really is an idyllic location for enthusiastic golfers or a base to explore the east coast of Scotland.

St Andrews is a town meant for exploring. The medieval layout of the town centre remains intact, with the main shopping areas concentrated in Market Street and South Street, with Bell Street and Church Street connecting the two principal streets. Take time to explore - on foot - and take pleasure at the surprises and delights you will find.

St Andrews holds a special place in Scotland's history. It takes its name from the Apostle whose relics, legend tells us, were brought to this place in antiquity by St Rule. Scotland later adopted St Andrew as her patron saint and took his salt ire cross for her flag.
