Exceptional Location!! Charm & intimacy await you in this stylish & beautiful village house offering Provencal elegance at its best. The origins of this lovely townhouse date from the 14th century! Close-up views of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Roman Arena of Arles. The house was completely renovated in 2017 and is decorated with an eye to details and authenticity using Provencal colors, antiques and modern amenities.

The living room/dining room is on the ground floor with exposed stone walls, high ceilings, French doors, and the original stone floor. Also, on this floor is a comfortable queen sized sofa bed plus a small bathroom with shower. There is a dining table and seating for 6.

The full modern American style kitchen, a delight for those you love to cook.

From the entry level, steps lead upstairs to the second and third floors with two master bedrooms. Each has a queen bed, large windows, and open bath area with new, large claw-foot bathtubs, sink and separate, enclosed toilet. From these windows there is a striking view of the arena across. Both bedrooms have exposed beams, hard wood floors, stone walls, and elegant Signoria & Jalla bed linens.

There is air conditioning throughout which makes this house especially pleasant in summer months. This is a beautiful and romantic house, cozy and quiet. Free private 1 car exterior parking near the Arles train station.

About Manager

Property Owners & Manager for over 20 years, California residents, married for 30 years with 1 wonderful 20 year old son. It was love at first site when we stumbled onto this house for sell and bought this very well located property on the spot. We then took 3 years renovating it with great pleasure and care to preserve the original stone floors, wall, wooden beams, high ceilings.

Location, Location, Location, Peace & Quiet in the evenings. action filled during the day. This property offers all comforts with close up views of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Roman Arena of Arles and surrounded by the beauty of the region. Walking distance to everything. Wonderful events throughout the year but mostly in spring, summer & fall. The city's rich art, photography, music, Roman festival history and great food enticed us and will do the same to you. Beaches are also within a short 25 minute drive or bus ride, making Arles another wonderful choice for vacations.

What makes this house unique

Quiet area, interior comfort awaits you in this house with modern, contemporary and very well restored antique furnishings, south west facing location, sunshine throughout the day. Walking distance to everything, shops, Provence open air markets held on Wednesday and Saturday. Very close proximity to all the locations painted by the world famous Impressionist artist, Vincent Van Gogh you can visit his little yellow house, just around the corner was other reasons we invested here. His work can be relived throughout the city.

We LOVED this location and our accommodation. Arles is a wonderful town to explore as well as use as a home base to adventure out to the countryside close by. The house is amazing; very special. Our host was very communicative and quick to respond. It couldn't have been more perfect.

First-class townhouse centrally located in Arles

Beautifully decorated, clean townhouse with comfortable beds and fully-stocked kitchen (including washer and dryer). Ensuite bedrooms on top two floors are ideal for two couples or a small family. Quiet at night, but some early-morning noise from garbage trucks.

Located right next to the Arles Amphitheater and all the sights are within walking distance (5-10 minutes). Many near-by restaurants, several bakeries, and a small close-by grocery store (Utile). Parking space is an easy 10-minute walk, even with suitcases.

Vivian, the owner, is very responsive and helpful.

We always aim to please our guests and apologize for the early morning garbage collection which sometimes maybe inconvenient. However, daily pickup keeps the city very clean and rid of other problems associated with the lack lack thereof. My husband I were in Rome recently where the garbage is not collected daily and must say that parts of the city smell horrible and is visibly unpleasant. Lovely Townhouse in the heart of Arles

The best thing about this townhouse is its location. It's 2 steps from all the things there are to see in Arles. It's beautifully decorated and comfortable. At night it was very quiet. The owners, Vivian and Patrick, were always helpful. I would definitely recommend it to a friend for a long or short stay.

Lovely stay in Arles, Provence

The townhouse was a lovely home base for exploring Arles and the surrounding villages and sites of Provence. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans, coffee maker, and appliances including a washer and dryer. We were comfortable there as two couples as each bedroom and bath had its own level - though you must be prepared to climb the stairs. The view across to the ancient arena was plenty of reward! Beds were comfortable and morning coffee in the sunny parlor was a pleasure.

Getting in and out of Arles is fairly easy once you learn to negotiate the roundabouts so common in southern France. Roussillon was our favorite day trip, and Arles itself is worth at least a full day of exploration. Avignon and Pont du Gard are less than an hour away, too.

We found several good restaurants in Arles and shopping there was better than expected, ranging from funky local touristy stuff to upscale clothing, leather and French linens. The lovely lady at the Camargue shop near the entrance stairs to the Arena was happy to explain the culture of that region (south of Arles) and the tradition of collecting figures, bull-fighting, and the famous white horses. We arrived in Arles on the final day of a festival so there were bull fights in the arena, offering a view of current culture in the ancient structure.

Altogether a wonderful 5-day stay, and we would be happy to return for further exploration of Arles and the region.

Beautiful property in prime location

The townhouse in Arles has been beautifully renovated and it is very cozy and authentic. It was wonderful to come back to such a lovely home after a long day of traveling around Provence. The location is within walking distance of all sights, shops, and restaurants within Arles. Vivian is very easy to communicate with. We would highly recommend this property.

Wonderful stay in Arles!

We absolutely loved this Arles townhouse! It was very clean with extremely comfortable beds (lovely bedding), and had everything we could possibly need. It is a charming and beautifully decorated home. The kitchen was well equipped (we cooked often as we were staying during a quiet time of year) and so cheerful! The separate washer and dryer was wonderful. We left Arles with suitcases of clean clothes! Clear instructions for all appliances made for frustration free use! There are many restaurants, shops, bakeries and grocery stores within easy walking distance.

We rented a car which we parked in the spot (5-10 minute walk away) provided by the owners. We did a number of easy day trips, our favorites being, Carrieres de Lumieres, Château des Baux de Provence, Pont du Gard, and Abbey of Montmajour. We also enjoyed the local attractions, such as the arena (make sure you look into the city pass, a real bargin), right across from the house.

This house was definitely a highlight of our France trip. Of all our vacation rentals, both in the US and Europe, this is our very favorite. Just perfect!

The city is equally known for its annual world photography, music & art festivals. This festival is to photography what the Cannes Film Festival is to cinema. It was launched in 1969 by photograph and image enthusiasts, Lucien Clergue, Jean-Maurice Rouquette, Michel Tournier and others. Every year this marks a high point for photographers and marks Arles out as an international capital of photography.

Also, this year famed designer Christian Lacroix, a native of Arles, has organized a world equestrian art festival taking place in July & August, don't miss out. Eco-tourism in the Camargues is right at your feet here too with horse back riding, pink flamingo & other exotic bird watching. This is a magical location.
