Vacation in NYC! Charming 1bdrm 1 bth Private Entrance! Stay at our lovely Turn-of-the Century Brownstone home in the heart of Manhattan! Your private 1 bdrm 1 bath section of our home has it's own private entrance within the building! You will not be sharing this with anyone but your party. It boasts your very own sitting room as well and a modern and convenient kitchenette area with granite countertops and stainless appliances. You'll find the kitchen fully stocked with dishes, cutlery, pots and pans, and more! Save $$ by making your own breakfasts! Luxuriate in the marble tiled bathroom, with a body shower spray, and granite countertop. Fluffy towels included! Your queen sized bedroom is dark and very very quiet! (In fact sometimes we'll use it to nap in the middle of the day it's so quiet!). The bedroom has it's own separate thermostat, so you can sleep at the temperature you find most comfortable. You'll find a large closet for all your clothes and a chest of drawers. The sitting area also has a twin sofa sleeper bed. Perfect for your business or vacation visit! Ask about discounts for longer stays!

Although this is a new listing, we are experienced in Vacation Rentals! We have six other listings with Homeaway/VRBO in New Orleans, all with Five Star reviews. #'s 4191859, 419860, 4191861, 4443665, 4457887 and 4443691.

GETTING AROUND: The nearest subway is the #6 Line at Park Ave and 28th St. about 3 blocks away or a two minute walk. The uptown and downtown lines are on either side of the street. Make sure you are going in the correct direction. Times Square is uptown. Wall Street is Downtown. WALK 10 minutes to the Empire State Building. Or 40 minutes up 5th Avenue to Times Square!

FLYING IN: We strongly recommend flying into Newark Airport. Yes, the one in New Jersey. From Newark (EWR) you can go right to the transportation hub and get on NJ Transit and $14 dollars and 22 minutes later you are at Penn Station - a 12 - 15 minute walk to the building. LaGuardia LGA is second choice - but be warned - it's under construction and can be quite a mess if you're arriving during the morning or evening rush hours. A yellow cab should take the Midtown Tunnel. If they say the 59th street bridge is free - it's true - but it will take significantly longer, and you'll make up the difference in price in the time. DON'T fly into JFK unless you have no other choice. It's a 1 1/2 to 2 hour long subway ride into Manhattan or an $80 minimum cab ride.

LOCATION: We are right in Midtown, in an area called Murry Hill. Locals calls it 'Curry Hill' due to the large number of Indian restaurants in the area. Third Avenue is literally shoulder to shoulder bars and restaurants and eateries. Most are on which will deliver food to your door in under half an hour. New Yorkers live and die on Seamless.

SAFETY: We are on a very safe and quiet block. Across the street is the back of a large church and a hundred feet away is a Jewish Temple attended by many diplomats. It can be very busy, however, along Third Ave because of all the bars etc and Lexington because of a taxi rest stop. So there are always people about no matter what the time of day or night.

About Roberta Facinelli

We are lifelong New Yorkers, born and raised in this wonderful city!! Roberta was a street reporter for many years in New York City. Our daughter just graduated college in Manhattan and works for City Meals on Wheels.

Roberta Facinelli purchased this apartment in 1980

Why Roberta Facinelli chose Kips Bay

We just love this neighborhood! There are tons of restaurants, shops, salons etc! Plus, you can walk to the Empire State Building, Times Square and many other famous places! The subway is only 3 blocks away and can take you everywhere!

What makes this apartment unique

Location, location, location! And privacy. Because this area of our home has a private entrance, it's not necessary to walk through the rest of the building! So you don't have to worry about disturbing us, or disturbing your privacy! It's very discreet as well. There is excellent security, as there is a steel door prior to your entrance. Both the steel entry door and the private door to your area have pushbutton locks, increasing security and doing away with the need for a key. Within a month of your stay, after the second, final payment is made, we will send you all the entry instructions.

Very nice property! Quaint and convenient location in Manhattan

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay. The apartment was clean and well appointed. We had three in our party so it was a little tight from a space perspective I think this would be perfect for a party of two.

Charming, clean, and convenient

  • 5 of 5

This is lovely city apartment - close to subways and markets and much that midtown has to offer. The kitchen is well-stocked, the bathroom modern and spotless, and the bedroom quiet. Roberta is especially gracious and helpful. I would stay here again on my next trip to New York.

Small but cozy

  • 5 of 5

Location location location! You can't beat the location of this lovely little place! The bed is SOFT and comfy. Great use of small space, decent size bathroom, the living/kitchen area is big enough and it was a GREAT place to stay for a week while running around the city. The hosts have so much info packed in their welcome binder - truly a great location for 2 people. I don't think more than 2 adults (in the bed) and 1 kid (on the pullout couch) could comfortably fit, but it was PERFECT for a couples getaway. Fully stocked kitchen, fridge and dishwasher convenient if you make your own breakfast. Full coffee and tea set up also. Near restaurants, subway, and in between 2 Starbucks! Very safe neighborhood - we will stay there again next time we visit!

Perfect location

  • 5 of 5

Great location, great space! Roberta is a super-informative and friendly host, with an outstanding visitor guide. We loved seeing a new part of NYC; running along the East River, and being equidistant from the theater and Greenwich Village. And the apartment was super-clean and a lovely place to chill before the next outing. Would definitely stay here again!

wonderful oasis

  • 5 of 5

I cant say enough wonderful things about the experience we had on our visit.

This was my sister's 60th birthday present so I wanted a special place and this did not disappoint.

The apartment was spotless and decorated with nice high end touches. Both beds (queen and pull out surprisingly) were very comfortable.

Amazing shower pressure was wonderful after a busy day on our feet ( my fit-bit was in overdrive)

Great recommendations for food by our host. The area has an eclectic variety of restaurants. Best Indian at Mughlai and Moonstruck diner for brunch was outstanding.

We had a odd schedule for our flights, both to and from and the owners were so gracious and friendly in honoring our special request.

Rude New Yorkers ?? Not these hosts, not by a long shot.

I told them I was hesitant to give a true review because it will never be available, but such a great gem should be shared.

Nearest Train

Subway at 28th and Park Ave
Nearest Restaurant
There are THOUSANDS in NYC
Car: not necessary

It's NYC - specifically Manhattan. If it ain't here, it don't exist!!

Laundromat 200 feet down the street.

Multiple restaurants in the area of ALL types. Or you can just go onto and order your food to be delivered.

Subway is at 28th and Park Ave. A two minute walk, It can take you all over the city.

The Empire State Building and Times Square are within walking distance. That is, walking distance for New Yorkers. Walking is the best way to see NYC! In fact you can often walk faster than taking a cab stuck in traffic.

There is something open 24/7. In fact, there is a hardware store down the block that's open 24 hours. Many restaurants in the area are open all night. And you'll always find people walking around no matter what time it is. NY really is the 'city that never sleeps".
