About Jamie Lou Wamsley

As a native to Arizona, I have lived in Scottsdale, Arizona my entire life. The cabin was built in 2008 and after a few years of enjoyment, the kids grew up and got involved in club sports and our free time for Williams dwindled. We decided to open our home five years ago to renters and share the Williams experience with others, and so far its been a delightful experience.

Why Jamie Lou Wamsley chose Grand Canyon

With a simple three hour drive from Scottsdale, AZ, this gem of a town has become my home away from home. Only in Williams will you find a scenic railway tour, a drive-thru wildlife park, wild west entertainment, Route 66 and extraordinary way to enjoy the majestic Grand Canyon.

What makes this cabin unique

Visiting in the Spring or Summer? Take advantage of a beautiful golf course with stunning views, nearly one hundred hiking trails, mountain biking trails, off road terrain, camping, fishing, birding and more.

Beautiful property but pests are a problem

  • 3 of 5

We were not informed prior to check in that there had been issues with pests. We encountered multiple mouse traps throughout the house. We had to remove the rattling mouse traps with mice in tow from the property ourselves. Conversations with the owner stated that he thought the problem might be bats. Outside of this issue the property is beautiful and we enjoyed our family time and the lovely setting.

Beautiful property near Grand Canyon

  • 4 of 5

The house was stunning and had everything we needed (e.g. paper towels, garbage bags, hair dryer, extra pillows and blankets). The Safeway grocery store was a 5-minute drive away. The only thing we missed was WiFi, which was clearly stated in the listing when we booked. We spent a day in Grand Canyon, a day in Sedona and a day in Flagstaff and Williams. The property was conveniently located for day trips to both GC and Sedona.

Overall good stay! would recommend.

  • 4 of 5

Overall a great stay. The correct driveway was a little tricky to find, as the road names didn't coordinate with the directions. For the most part, the house was very nice. The grounds were a little barren (looked like they were maybe getting ready to do some landscaping?) We did see wildlife come to the pond after dark. If I were to give a complaint it would be there was no propane for the gas grill outside. And the "animals" were in need of some tlc. I think a "high space" cleaning was in order. But otherwise enjoyed the space. Nice area outside for morning sun and coffee. Plenty of room, we had six, but more would have been just as comfortable.

Great place to stay near the Grand Canyon

  • 5 of 5

This cabin exceeded our expectations for our family trip to visit the Grand Canyon. It easily accommodated 4 adults and 4 children, had plenty of space to relax indoors & outdoors, and had a well equipped kitchen for meal prep. The location was convenient to Williams and was tucked into a dip in the mountains where we could hike a little bit with the kids to keep them entertained. Comfortable beds and A/C & heat if needed. A great mountain getaway. We hope to make it back again. Thanks for a lovely visit!

Perfect home for multiple families

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the Williams Rustic Cabin with three families. The set-up was perfect for each couple to have their own space plus an extra sleeping room for the kids, with plenty of large gathering space for meals and relaxing. The home felt welcoming with extra touches like plants and board games, providing everything we needed for a week of family meals and gatherings.

It's a beautiful, modern property that needs a little attention to minor things like dusty light fixtures, a slow drain and an empty gas tank at the grill.

Overall, we were very pleased with the home and would highly recommend it.
