As a native to Arizona, I have lived in Scottsdale, Arizona my entire life. We built the cabin in 2008 and after a few years of enjoyment our kids grew and got involved in sports and our free time for Williams dwindled. We decided to open our home three years ago to renters and share the Williams experience with others, and so far its been a delightful experience.

Our family of 10 (6 adults, 4 "children" from 12 to 20) stayed for 8 days. The house accommodated us well. We had breakfast and evening meals there just about every day. The kitchen and great room worked very well for eating, TV, family games, etc.. The back deck was great for evening sunset and wine. We only needed to turn on the A/C one afternoon because the weather was so nice. I could have lived without the pig/boar hanging above my bed - but after about 4 nights I forgot about it.
The grocery in Williams is great. The town of Williams is charming and has many good restaurants. It was easy to get to the Grand Canyon, Sedona, the Meteor Crater and Flagstaff.
The best thing in Flagstaff is the Extreme Ropes Course. Four of us did the full 5 levels and loved it. The price is reasonable.
My family of 7 travelled to Williams , AZ for the first time, and used this beautiful VRBO property for two days as a launching point to several adventures. We were very happy that it was only 0.2 miles from the Young Life camp, Lost Canyon, that we had planned to see as adult guests. It was also fairly easy to get to the Grand Canyon South Rim. The town of Williams is right down the road and worth stopping & shopping. The grocery store was also convenient and open late. The ice maker was not working but they had bags of ice that helped a lot.
The house was well equipped for our summer activities, cooking meals and having lots of space to relax. It was a nice touch having cookies and fresh wild flowers to welcome us. Overall, a great experience. And the Canyon was SPECTACULAR!
We stayed with 3 other couples for 4 nights and were completely delighted. The house worked great for us as each bedroom had it's own bathroom as well as having a powder room. We were there for a golf trip and others in the group stayed at smaller houses in Williams. Because this home is so spacious we were able to have the whole group over for a cookout one night and everyone raved about the home and how beautiful it was. We did have an issue with the grill not working, but once the bars were removed and cleaned, it fired right up! Not a big deal. The home itself was very clean and Wendy, the house manager even left us fresh flowers and doughnuts upon our arrival.
The extra refrigerator in the garage is very handy to have to store water and other beverages in. All the rooms are spacious and well appointed (although I could do without the wild boar head above my bed). The TV was huge and had Direct TV. There were also numerous games to play. And if you're a golfer, Elephant Rocks golf course is a top notch muni course!
We all truly enjoyed our stay here and can recommend it without hesitation. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home Jamie!
So, first, we would like to thank home owners for allowing us opportunity to rent this place. My entire family absolutely enjoyed our stay here. The two-level home, spacious living area, and multiple bathrooms, made it practical and whole-some for us. The kitchen was perfect, in particular the large island, for our family to gather together during cooking and dining. The location was awesome, so far away, but yet, so close to town. We felt like we were deep in the woods. The design itself of the entire place, especially, the pine walls and ceilings truly made us feel like we were truly away from city-life.
We are not finicky, and therefore, don't have anything negative to say about this place.
In conclusion, we highly recommend this place to any family or group who desire not only a getaway, but an experience.
Once again, thank you much.
We were 3 couples staying in the Williams Retreat for a week in mid-May. The house was perfect for us as each couple had their own bedroom with bathroom. We found plenty of bed linens and towels. We do recommend bringing a sleep mask if you want to catch some extra sleep in the morning. The sun comes up around 5:30 and there were no room darkening shades on the windows. The living areas were a comfortable size for all of us to watch TV or play board games. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed to make breakfast and cook dinner. We really liked the second refrigerator for keeping water, soda and beer chilled. The property manager lives just 10 minutes away and responded immediately when we had an issue with the air filters. Even though there is no WiFi at the house, all of our cell phones got good reception.
The house is located just 2 miles outside of Williams, a charming town on the old Route 66. As all of us couples are old enough to remember the TV show so it was fun to walk along the main drag of Williams thinking of George Maharis, Martin Milner and their wonderful Chevy Corvette. Williams has some good restaurants (try the malts at Rt 66 Cafe) and cute shops to pick up a few souvenirs. The Safeway grocery store was well stocked and we found everything we needed.
It is a short 30 minute drive to Flagstaff, 35 minutes to Walnut Canyon National Monument; 1 hour north to the Grand Canyon; 1 hour south to Sedona (take the backroads from Flagstaff the drive is breathtaking). Exploring the area around the house is fun, too. There is a good walking trail to the ski lift and a harrowing ride up the mountain to the cell phone towers for a glorious view. Just outside of Williams is Beararizona which is fun for both adults and kids.
Couples or families looking for a lovely home in a terrific location for touring northern Arizona will not be disappointed in the Williams Retreat. Just make sure to arrive at the house in daylight as it is a bit difficult to find the first time. And, then have a good time!
The Williams Rustic Cabin internet pictures were beautiful and when we arrived for our vacation, we were not disappointed. Very comfortable with unique log cabin furnishings. Each night, we found ourselves just sitting on the back deck enjoying the breeze while star gazing. The town of Williams, located a mile down the road, is a step back in time. Located on historic Rte 66, it offers something for everyone. It is also convenient to many tourist spots, with the south rim of the Grand Canyon only an hour away. We would definitely recommend this home to others vacationing in the area.
