Perfect location, perfect home and perfect week away!
From the first contact through to last, absolute pleasure to book this perfect home and location. Everything was as described and more, and all of us loved waking up here and using it as a base to explore the unspoilt highlands of Scotland. Couldn’t recommend more highly .
Thanks so much for your amazing review so glad you enjoyed your family holiday.
A perfect stay on Hogmanay 2020!
Ten old friends got together here for Hogmanay this year and it was a great place for us all to catch up. The upstairs living area stretches the entire length of the building so is the perfect space to hangout, cook, read, play board games all at the same time!
The 4 official bedrooms are a good size and comfort, the extra bed is a foldout mattress which is not that comfortable but Kay (the host) got in touch with us before hand to warn us of this so we were able to bring an inflatable mattress instead.
The kitchen is well catered, lots of glassware and a good range of pots to aid with cooking while looking out over that fantastic view.
We all had a great time over the 4 nights and would book here again with no hesitation.
Thanks for a great start to 2020!

Beautiful property in stunning location
As a group we have stayed in several houses in Glenelg but this has to be the best. Not only because it could fit all nine of us in (and three dogs) but it was excellently appointed, didn’t feel cramped and had stunning views. I think the only downside we had was that it is a shame there is no TV upstairs (only dvd), would be useful on those days when you want to sit by the wonderful log burner although once the WiFi was working we managed to link up a laptop. Will definitely recommend
Thank you for your review and so sorry that the WIFI was down for some of your stay due to the lightning earlier in the week. Thank you for recommending our house to others.
An Gearasdan is set in a stunning location overlooking Glenelg Bay and the Isle of Skye, just outside the village of Glenelg in Wester Ross. The property offers superior accommodation in one of the most picturesque settings in the Western Highlands. Glenelg has a village shop and pub, the famous Glenelg Inn serves delicious food. An Gearasdan sits with commanding views of the Sound of Sleat and is adjacent to the ruined Hanoverian Barracks. The surrounding countryside is wild and beautiful with fabulous mountains, glens and waterfalls. A short distance away is the gentle walk to Sandaig, a beautiful sandy bay which was once home to Gavin Maxwell and the inspiration for his famous book Ring of Brightwater. An Gearasdan has uninterrupted views to the sea and river estuary, where seals, otters, dolphins, whales and eagles are regularly sighted. Breathtaking sunsets can be enjoyed from the larch clad balcony, or upstairs in front of the log burner in the open plan living/dining room.
