About the property

Award winning house in perfect location

An Gearasdan was fully renovated to the highest standards in 2007 and the following year won the prestigious RIAS award for which the owners are justly proud. The house can comfortably sleep 8/10 - it is large enough to accommodate 2 families or a large group of friends. It is fitted with contemporary furnishings and has a fresh decor. Downstairs accommodation consists of a large cloakroom, utility room with washing machine, tumble drier, fridge freezer, a w.c and shower room. Leading off the hallway are 4 double bedrooms (two have twin beds, one has king and one has superking) (one en suite), a family shower-room, and separate TV lounge including a small double sofa bed. Upstairs is bright and open planned with a fully equipped kitchen with large fridge, ovens and microwave. There is a well stocked library of interesting books and family games, and a dining table to seat 10. Three large sofas surround a modern Jotul log burning stove. The house offers every comfort necessary to make your holiday complete.

Outstanding views

  • 5 of 5

Perfectly located holiday cottage.

Enormous windows on both ground & 1st floor L rooms, looking out across the bay toward Skye. Exactly what we were looking for.

Finding it hard to write about this place without sounding like a holiday brochure, it's so good.

Wonderful house in stunning location.

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I had an amazing 4 night stay at An Gearasdan, This is my 2nd trip to Glenelg and its a place I love. Now we have found An Gearasdan we have just booked to come back for a week in 2017 and also hope to come back many times with my young family. The house is extremely well equipped with lots of room and the living space upstairs is amazing with the lovely wood burner and views over to Skype. During our stay we did fishing, kayaking, running, walking, cycling right from the front door. Thank you and looking forward to next year.

Beautiful location and great facilities

  • 5 of 5

We know Glenelg very well having been there many times for over 30 years, and had walked past this house many times since it was developed. It was perfect for a family holiday, 10 adults, 2 toddlers, and 2 babies, with loads of space, very good facilities, and amazing views. The upstairs living/kitchen area is brilliant for a large group, and easily accommodated all of us for the week. Only a few minutes walk to the lovely Genelg Inn as well! We will definitely hope to return sometime for another family reunion. Thank you Kay and family for the opportunity.

Glorious Glenelg

  • 5 of 5

Kay & Graeme's holiday home is Tardis-like. Approaching it down the rutted track just off the main road and adjoining one other neighbouring property, it can seem somewhat small, even disappointing to those who've seen the pictures on this site. But the specialness of this house only becomes apparent when you go inside. Especially on going upstairs to the wonderful full length living area, with its well equipped kitchen at one end and comfortable sitting area at the other. Not that it's so much the layout or design that grabs you but rather the truly amazing view. And this is this house's real glory: whether cooking, reading or just hanging out, the ever-changing expanse of sky and water is a huge privilege to live with for a week or so. The bedrooms are not huge but comfortable and most have a view of the view, albeit from ground level, which is not quite as inspirational as from upstairs but lovely to wake up to all the same. Just remember to close the blinds, unless you want to expose yourself to walkers on the track. The Master Bedroom doesn't have a view (or a cupboard) but makes up for that with an en suite and a Super-King. There is plenty of space for the practicalities of a holiday in the highlands, with a big utility room, boot room, washing machine and so on. Kay was especially helpful in suggesting things to do and tips on where to buy stuff (get it before you arrive). But the main reason to come here is the surrounding country, which, even though we were there over the August bank holiday weekend, we hardly ever seemed to be sharing with more than a handful of others. A magical place and missing it even as I write this review....

A beautiful well equipped property

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from a fantastic stay at An Gearasdan. The house was everything and more with excellent facilities. The layout ensures you can make the most of the amazing views from the upstairs lounge and kitchen. The bedrooms are spacious and provided superb accommodation for two families. I was particularly impressed with the provision of the dog crate and beds which made our dog very comfortable for the week!

Glenelg is a beautiful place, we were very lucky to have gorgeous weather which made our days out even more perfect. We will definitely be returning soon! Thank you Kay and Graham!
