About the property

Award winning house in perfect location

An Gearasdan was fully renovated to the highest standards in 2007 and the following year won the prestigious RIAS award for which the owners are justly proud. The house can comfortably sleep 8/10 - it is large enough to accommodate 2 families or a large group of friends. It is fitted with contemporary furnishings and has a fresh decor. Downstairs accommodation consists of a large cloakroom, utility room with washing machine, tumble drier, fridge freezer, a w.c and shower room. Leading off the hallway are 4 double bedrooms (two have twin beds, one has king and one has superking) (one en suite), a family shower-room, and separate TV lounge including a small double sofa bed. Upstairs is bright and open planned with a fully equipped kitchen with large fridge, ovens and microwave. There is a well stocked library of interesting books and family games, and a dining table to seat 10. Three large sofas surround a modern Jotul log burning stove. The house offers every comfort necessary to make your holiday complete.

Beautiful house with fantastic views

Second time at An Gearasdan and another lovely week. Accommodation is perfect, very spacious with superb views from the upstairs living area. Love the fact that there is space around the house for kids to play too. Will definitely be returning!!

Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved the property and fell well and truly in love with Glenelg. It's a perfect place to explore and the house is wonderfully luxurious. Beds were super comfortable and upstairs just steals the show with the views over to Skye! The kitchen is the perfect sociable space to enjoy cooking and chat after a long day out walking. We were lucky to have amazing weather - it hit 18 degrees which was just glorious!

Kay was extremely accommodating, helpful and great at coming back to me with all of our queries.

We will definitely be back hopefully very soon! Thank you Kay!

Amazing house, fabulous peaceful location

  • 5 of 5

Stylish, light and airy modern house, well equipped and wonderfully comfortable. Warm and cosy with huge windows all round making the most of the natural landscape. Superb views across the water to Skye change with the weather and are great to watch and paint (we've put some of ours on www.williamsartwrx.org under Glenelg ). Great walks, wildlife and birdwatching outside. So relaxing, peaceful and delightful - perfect for a great holiday.

Outstanding views

  • 5 of 5

Perfectly located holiday cottage.

Enormous windows on both ground & 1st floor L rooms, looking out across the bay toward Skye. Exactly what we were looking for.

Finding it hard to write about this place without sounding like a holiday brochure, it's so good.

Wonderful house in stunning location.

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I had an amazing 4 night stay at An Gearasdan, This is my 2nd trip to Glenelg and its a place I love. Now we have found An Gearasdan we have just booked to come back for a week in 2017 and also hope to come back many times with my young family. The house is extremely well equipped with lots of room and the living space upstairs is amazing with the lovely wood burner and views over to Skype. During our stay we did fishing, kayaking, running, walking, cycling right from the front door. Thank you and looking forward to next year.

Beautiful location and great facilities

  • 5 of 5

We know Glenelg very well having been there many times for over 30 years, and had walked past this house many times since it was developed. It was perfect for a family holiday, 10 adults, 2 toddlers, and 2 babies, with loads of space, very good facilities, and amazing views. The upstairs living/kitchen area is brilliant for a large group, and easily accommodated all of us for the week. Only a few minutes walk to the lovely Genelg Inn as well! We will definitely hope to return sometime for another family reunion. Thank you Kay and family for the opportunity.

An Gearasdan is set in a stunning location overlooking Glenelg Bay and the Isle of Skye, just outside the village of Glenelg in Wester Ross. The property offers superior accommodation in one of the most picturesque settings in the Western Highlands. Glenelg has a village shop and pub, the famous Glenelg Inn serves delicious food. An Gearasdan sits with commanding views of the Sound of Sleat and is adjacent to the ruined Hanoverian Barracks. The surrounding countryside is wild and beautiful with fabulous mountains, glens and waterfalls. A short distance away is the gentle walk to Sandaig, a beautiful sandy bay which was once home to Gavin Maxwell and the inspiration for his famous book Ring of Brightwater. An Gearasdan has uninterrupted views to the sea and river estuary, where seals, otters, dolphins, whales and eagles are regularly sighted. Breathtaking sunsets can be enjoyed from the larch clad balcony, or upstairs in front of the log burner in the open plan living/dining room.
