On top of Minori!

  • 5 of 5

Family of 4 was greeted by Salvatore and his son, promptly hoisted our bags on their shoulders and led us up to the picnic area. We were served delicious, cold, fresh lemonade under the shade. The views are spectacular! Our apartment was very clean, well equipped and comfortable. The roof deck offers a panoramic view Minori and looks across from Ravello. A great place to enjoy a glass of homemade wine at the end of the evening! The local shuttle bus makes regular runs to and from downtown at the cost of €0.60 per ride. The walk to downtown takes less than 15 mins and offers the quaintness of an true Italian village.

Our host were wonderful, friendly and attentive but offered the upmost privacy. The lemon groves on the property offer fresh fruit, the property is beautifully accented with flowering shrubs and is immaculately maintained. They offer farm fresh products including honey, lemon syrup and wine (very nice wine at that!)

We are so pleased we chose this as our home base for vacation! Minori and the area offers tranquility and is a short bus ride (or ferry) from the larger Postino, Salerno.

Spring at the Amalfi Coast

  • 5 of 5

Lemons and Lizards

  • 4 of 5

Had a lovely 1 week stay in Ortensia House. It is above Ibiscus house the other property listed. The house was a little smaller than I expected with a combined Kitchen, dining area and settee. This didn't matter however as we spent most of our time there either in the shade of the garden or on the Terrace above the house. There are beautiful, hypnotic views to the coast and town of Minori below and to Ravello across the valley. I think there were approx 250 steps which is daunting at first but you soon get used to it.The property was clean and Salvatore and Ornella were great providing us with endless Tomatoes, Lemons and fresh Basil. There is a very useful minibus service that runs past the entrance to and from the town approx every hour or hour and a half. Especially useful for getting back from town in the heat of the afternoon. Amalfi and Ravello are a must but parking can be difficult or expensive , so take the SITA bus for 1 euro. You can also get boat trips to Capri from Minori, well worth it

We wanted to do more walking but the weather was unusually hot and humid, i imagine it would be ideal for this in spring.

Getting away from it all

  • 5 of 5

From the minute we arrived we were given a warm Italian welcome, by the man on the street who advised us where to park our car, by Salvatore and son who carried our luggage up the long climb to Ortensia House, and by Ornella who cooked us a delicious 4 course meal using fresh home-grown ingredients.

The farm setting is delightful. The hillside is steep and terraced, with groves of lemons, apricots and vines (but mostly lemons!) stretching above and below the property. There's a tranquil garden to the side shaded by lemon trees and hydrangeas - a great place to lounge and watch tiny lizards darting by. Views from the house and garden are stunning, and Ravello with its concert hall is clearly visible across the valley.

This is the perfect place to relax and unwind away from the stresses and strains of modern living.

Limoncello is a must during your stay - and Ornella's home made recipe is delicious.

Minori is a charming little Italian town with a good range of small traditional shops, a swimming beach and promenade. No Macdonalds here! In fact we didn't see any chain stores anywhere during our stay.

We'd recommend the all day boat trip to Capri from neighbouring Maiori.

Steps and lemons

  • 4 of 5

Landing at Napoli, we braved the Italian drivers and made it unscathed to Minori, a preety village by the sea. We wound our way up through the town to Ornella and Salvatore's lemon grove.

Once we had recovered from the climb - there are a lot of steps - we could look out from the roof patio across the valley and down to the sea. Just stunning.

The walk down to town is easy, and the Pizza, pasta and gelato you find when you get there fantastic, particularly at La Botte. The climb back up allows for over indulgence at dinner - there are a lot of steps, and then a lot more!

The accommodation is quite basic - exactly as we expected from the description - but we simply used it as a base. The kitchen equipment could do with updating. Mind, there are too many places to go to spend long indoors, even if it is only up onto the roof.

From the harbour, you can catch a boat to Capri, with wonderful views of the coast. Pretty chilly in early April, though, unless the sun is out.

We had a wonderful stay, and would love to return one day.

Wonderful experience with the birds eye view

  • 5 of 5

We are a family of four from the Midwest of Us. This is a perfect place for young and energetic to explore the coast from. Ornella, Salvatore and family are lovely people, very helpful and warm, made our stay very comfortable and treated us like family. There were delightful baked bites to welcome us as well as some wine and lemons. The house is clean and very nicely appointed, we enjoyed the breathtaking view and the meals outside surrounded by lemons. The limoncello and marmalade were delightful, definitely worth a try. It's only 400 steps from the towns center, but high enough that its blissfully quiet at night, which was a blessing after Rome. Also, there is enough room on the property for our young energetic boys of 9 and 11 to roam on their own, patting the ponies and hunting lizards, leaving us to enjoy wine and relax. Thank you, Ornella and Salvatore!
