Overview

About the property

2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, sleep 7, mesa view, scenic hwy 12 and Burr trail

Privacy and remarkable views, this property comes with an abundance of wildlife and beautiful scenery overlooking Boulder mesas and a peaceful pond.

This 2 bedroom, 2 full bathroom specious house is located in Boulder Utah bordering Escalante National Monument. It conveniently sits on famous Burr Trail and breath-taking scenic highway 12. Some of the most popular hiking trails in this area include Upper and Lower Calf Creek Falls. Our house is close to very nice restaurants and the scenic drives.

Boulder offers the perfect location for your vacation in Capitol Reef National Park, Escalante area and Brice National Park. Located in Boulder, on Utah-12 is Anasazi Indian Village State Park. This site offers an excavated Anasazi village and a museum.

Our house is charming, personal, and welcoming home that makes its visitors feel like they are guests in a very special place. You will have the time of your life on this vacation.

House is located in Escalante National Monument area off the scenic highway 12 on Burr Trail. It is only 36 miles from Capitol Reef National Park and 23 miles from Hole-in-the-Rock Road.

Hole-in-the-Rock Road is on the south edge of Boulder Mountain and cuts through Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. It provides access to an amazing canyon network and some of the best slot hikes to be found on earth. Hiking, backpacking, biking and horseback riding are favorite activities in this area. The road also features Devil's Garden which is an Outstanding Natural Area with easy hiking.

There is also Zebra slot canyon, often photographed for its amazing pink strips.

The main canyon, called Coyote Gulch, offers towering high walls and superb narrows.

Dry Fork Canyon is a major tributary to Coyote Gulch and serves as a corridor into this scenic area. The Dry Fork Trailhead is a beautiful, narrow canyon that offers several miles of hiking opportunity.

Peek-A-Boo Gulch is a beautifully sculptured slot that runs for about half a mile to a wide, sandy wash.

Spooky Gulch is the next opening as you hike down Dry Fork. It offers a great slot canyon hike through beautifully eroded Navajo sandstone. The canyon is deep and it constantly twists and bends, creating the eerie and haunting nature captured in its name. Spooky is the narrowest slot normal-sized adults can get through.

Our house has 2 levels with 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. There is a king bed with the attached bathroom in the master suite upstairs and a queen bed with the guest bathroom in the second bedroom downstairs. Downstairs bedroom also has a pull out sofa. The second sleeper sofa is located in our TV room downstairs. Please note, there is no TV service or cable available. Guests are treated to all of the amenities they might need. Yes, we do have AC. Living room upstairs has sitting area with DVD library and variety of games and books. Dining area and the kitchen are adjacent to the living room. Entire upstairs level is wrapped around with our specious deck. Enjoy the views while preparing your meals on the grill.

Our house is perfectly suited for peaceful reflection on the day’s adventures: from fishing, biking, horse-back riding and hiking in beautiful Utah’s country. Relax after the day’s adventure on our deck while watching the most beautiful sun sets.

Please note, we don't allow more than 1 small dog.

This place is as charming as it seems and as well furnished as desired.

This cabin is in a great location in Boulder. It's off the beaten path, but not too much and very near the delicious Hells Backbone Grill. The 12 is a spectacular stretch of road that is easily explored from the cabin.

Perfect retreat

  • 5 of 5

This was just a lovely place to hide away for a wintery week. Conveniently located between the Grand Staircase/Escalante and Capitol Reef. I highly recommend this cabin to anyone who may be looking for some privacy with easy access to all of the wonderful parks in the area

Perfect for our family gathering in Boulder.

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a very comfortable stay in Annas Boulder home. The space was ample and well equipped. The two levels are more like two suites providing ultimate privacy for two families sharing the home. Boulder is such a jem of a place. A perfect taste of the beautiful, unique southwest. The drive to the house is beautiful in itself. Anna is a very pleasant, responsive easy to deal with owner. Highly recommend Boulder and this property.

Boulder House is Awesome

  • 5 of 5

We have rented many a VRBO and had many great experiences. This house and Anna topped them all! Anna was incredibly quick to respond to every e-mail. We had to change our reservation and she was extremely accommodating. The house is exactly as displayed in the pictures. What you don't get from the pictures is the country charm. We had a robin building its nest on the deck beams, cows mooing in the pasture nearby and a nice neighbor that dropped off fresh eggs. Each time we returned to the house, the neighbor's horses ran up to greet us.

We enjoyed several incredible hikes in Capitol Reef and Grand Staircase. The Spooky and Peek-a-Boo slot canyons are a bit of a drive, but well worth it! We enjoyed good meals at the two local restaurants and others in Escalante. The locals are incredibly welcoming and we felt at home. The drive down the Burr Trail is paved for the first thirty miles and astonishingly beautiful. The Hole in the Wall road may be the best maintained dirt road in America. As others have written, the only thing missing in Boulder or Escalante is a large grocery store. Thank you for a great vacation!

Didn't want to leave

  • 5 of 5

This house is so beautiful. The location is perfect. We loved the view, which kept changing. You can do some nice walks right from the house, which is always welcome. Boulder is a VERY small town. We drove right through it at first not realized that was it! If you can, shop in Kanab or further away. There is a small and VERY nice grocery store, but it is double prices. The pictures say Zebra slot canyon is just minutes from the house. Its over an hour though. Our family really loved our stay here. I am longing to return.
