You will love returning here after a day on the Lake (or you may find it so relaxing that you never make it out onto the Lake). Unit D-1 is a two floor, townhouse style unit.
The first floor features a fully equipped kitchen, including refrigerator, stove, microwave, and dishwasher, along with plates and utensils. The kitchen opens onto a dining area with a high top table and chairs. An adjacent living room area offers a comfortable sectional couch, large ottoman, and new flat screen TV (with Dish Network). A first floor balcony opens off of the dining area giving guests a beautiful view of a wooded ravine typical of the Lake Cumberland area. Completing the first floor is a full bathroom.
The stairway to the second floor opens into the master bedroom, which contains a king size bed and full dresser with mirror. There is plenty of open floor space for kids in sleeping bags, an air mattress, a playpen, or luggage. The second balcony opens off of the master bedroom, and with its treehouse feel is the perfect place for morning coffee. The second bedroom is also upstairs, and with bunk beds and a pull out couch, can sleep four. A second full bath, accessible from both bedrooms, completes the second floor. All upstairs rooms have vaulted ceilings.The entire condo was freshly painted in 2013. There are hardwood floors throughout the first floor, and carpeting throughout the second floor. Both bathrooms have ceramic tile. In addition to the private balconies, guests can also enjoy the outdoors on a deck just outside the front door. It's a perfect place for picnics, and is a great staging area for your day on the Lake. Unit D-1 is located in a private, gated resort. The resort makes enjoying Lake life easy with ample boat trailer parking, a station for cleaning fish, and easy access to two major launching ramps. There is also plenty to do at the resort without ever going out on the Lake. Guests can enjoy a newly renovated swimming pool, tennis courts, basketball court, fire ring, and playground area. There are also several hiking trails that lead from the resort down to the Lake. In addition, the convenient location allows guests to easily enjoy all the amenities offered by Lake Cumberland State Resort Park. We think you will love it here. One visit and you'll never want to stay in Lure Lodge or the State Park cottages again!
Please Note: The geography of this area is hilly, and the walkway from the parking lot down to our condo is relatively steep. We think the privacy is well worth it, but those with physical limitations may find the walkway challenging.
Our family lives in Champaign County, Ohio, in rural West Liberty. Our three kids range from high school to middle school age, and we have enjoyed boating at Lake Cumberland for many years.

Our family has been coming to Lake Cumberland for more than 20 years, and my wife's family for many more than that. We love the West end of the Lake, and would always stay in either Lure Lodge or a cottage in Lake Cumberland State Resort Park.
Although our condo is located just inside the entrance to the State Park, it is so private that we drove by it hundreds of times (literally) over the years without ever even realizing it was there. We 'discovered' in 2012 and, after a disappointing stay in one of the State Park cottages earlier that summer, decided to try it for a spur of the moment trip. That one stay hooked us. Not only did we find it to be much nicer than the State Park cottages, but it was a better value. We bought our own unit shortly afterwards.
The condo resort really is the best of both worlds. It offers easy access to everything the Lake Cumberland State Resort Park offers, but with the amenities of a privately owned resort.
Our favorite part of the condo is the balconies. The balconies on our condo in particular overlook a wooded ravine. The slope of the ravine combined with the height of the structure put these balconies in the midst of the treetops, giving them a treehouse feel. It's the perfect place for morning coffee with birds chirping in the background, or to relax in the evening surrounded by night sounds. Just about every one of our days starts and ends on one of the balconies.
Property was clean and exactly as stated! Very easy to check in. Property was private and just what we were looking for. Convenient for a day on the lake. Perfect for the family!
We enjoyed a very quiet weekend in this beautifully decorated two story condo. The complex is set back in the woods and has lots of privacy. Older travelers will want to plan for steep walkways to the door. After Nov. 1 activities are limited to hiking and driving to small towns. Be sure to check out Harbor Inn restaurant within 45 minute drive. Chris is a gracious host and our deposit was returned promptly. Many thanks for a nice holiday!
This condo was exactly what my family needed for a wonderful weekend stay at Lake Cumberland! It was far more spacious and modern than the hotels or other lodging in the area. I would absolutely choose it again if returning to Jamestown/Russell Springs. I am ultra-picky in choosing accomodations and this condo exceeded my expectations. It is clean and nicely decorated. I appreciated details like the local flair reflected in the carefully chosen artwork. The treetop view provides a great environment for relaxing and connecting with nature. I bet is is stunning during peak fall foliage season! The owner of the condo is fabulous to do business with. We were provided with very clear and easy-to-follow instructions. We were a bit desperate to find last minute lodging for a golf tournament and he was such a great help to us. If you arrive after dark, be sure to have a flashlight with you. If I need to return to Lake Cumberland for business, sports, or pleasure, this will be my first choice for lodging.

The condo was really nice and clean. Perfect for a couples getaway. Chris was a really easy person to deal with. Certainly a place that we will visit again.
Our condo is part of Apple Valley Resort, which is located just inside Cumberland State Park. If you've been to the state park you probably drove right by Apple Valley without ever noticing it was there (it took us years to 'discover' it). This convenient location gives our guests easy access to all the amenities the state park offers (horseback riding, hiking trails, Frisbee golf, Lure Lodge, miniature golf, to name a few), and, most importantly, to beautiful Lake Cumberland itself. Located close to the launching ramps at both Pumpkin Creek (State Dock) and Wolf Creek Dam, our condo makes the perfect home base for your time a Lake Cumberland. Our family has boated at Lake Cumberland for the last 20 years, and had always stayed at Lure Lodge or one of the state park cottages. In 2012 we discovered Apple Valley when planning a spur of the moment trip, and enjoyed so much we quickly bought a unit of our own. Our condo is updated, clean, private, and a great value. Once you've stayed here you'll never want to stay in the state park lodge or cottages again!
