History of Valldemossa: In 1838 Frederic Chopin and George Sand visited the island and stayed at the Royal Monastery in Valldemossa, both left a mark on Mallorca and Valldemossa that is set in the foothills of the Tramuntana Mountain range.
The island beautiful scenery captivated both of them Chopin said, '... I shall live in a wonderful cloister in the most beautiful part of the world...', and his companion thought, 'Anything that can be dreamt by the painter or the poet has been created by nature in this place. Today the grounds of the Royal Monastery of Valldemossa are open for visits to the many different chambers it contains. In August the village holds the Chopin festival which dates back to 1930 this takes place in the Monastery's cloister. The Royal Monastery of Valldemossa has its origins in the early fourteenth-century palace constructed by King James II for its son Sancho, which was donated to the Order of San Bruno in 1399.
Walking/cycling/climbing/kayaking/abseiling: Walking and cycling are very popular here in Valldemossa and also all over the island. Walking routes are available from the local information centre in Valldemossa and all walks are very well signposted.
Golf lovers - Son Termens golf course is approx a 15 minute drive away this is ranked amongst the most ecological in Europe, the village is also within half and hours drive of 5 other courses. Canyoning is also available and is a relatively new sport that involves walking, scrambling, climbing, jumping, abseiling and/or swimming through a canyon. Due to the limestone rocks found in the Tramuntana mountain range, Mallorca boasts many canyons that have been carved out over millions of years by water. These narrow gorges, with beautifully sculpted walls and waterfalls provide a striking setting for this all-action activity. Guided kayaking excursion, starting and finishing from the Playa d'en Tepic beach in Puerto Soller.
The location is absolutely stunning although the drive down the hill is a little windy (the price of stunning I guess). A small car would make this easier, but to be fair I saw a small truck make it down so its probably down to my driving. The apartment is really nice. Although I didn't hear it one of my mates said he could hear dripping in the night in one of the downstairs rooms from the boiler, but other than that we had no complaints. I didn't meet the owner, but my girlfriend said he was really ice and helpful...bought us a bottle of wine and other things as a welcome package. Would highly recommend this place.
A charming little fishing village with only few tourists. A great place if you are into authentic experiences and stunning scenery.
A beautiful house near the sea with plenty of space for a family of 4. Clean and tidy and equipped with everything a family needs.
Friendly and helpful hosts.
The road to the small port is steep with many hairpin bends. A challenge we gladly took, to reach such a beautiful place.
No possibility for shopping, but located right next to a great restaurant.
A place that can highly be recommended!
A weeks holiday in Mallorca could not better than to stay in this little private Paradise. Miquel is the perfect and very friendly owner of a nice, complete and comfortable home. Port de Valldemossa is a dream come true; sitting at the little harbour, with your feet in the water watching the sun go down, gives you a holiday feeling that is unique!!!. There can be only one conclusion; we will be back here!!!
Otra Mallorca es posible. Una deliciosa estancia. Casa recién rehabilitada. Limpia y espaciosa.

Port Of Valldemossa. Is a small quiet little village with only a few properties. There is one bar / restaurant in the port. The house is by the sea with sea views. This is not a sandy beach but a pebble beach. The village of Valldemossa is approx 6km away with breathtaking views whilst arriving and departing the port. Palma shopping if required is only a 20minute drive away with other beautiful places to visit on the west coast, Deia, Soller. There are sandy beaches / Alcoves accessable by foot or by car. The port of Valldemossa is for those that like a relaxing holiday in a beautiful part of Mallorca where the Sunset is magnificent. Or for those that like to travel the island sightseeing and then to return to a quiet area where one can sit and have a nice meal overlooking the med.
