About the property

Walkable to everything in old Antibes! Sandy beach, 36 restaurants & museums.

Live and breathe in the home to one of France's greatest pride and joys: Andre Massena's marital home, where he dwelled during the 1800s.

Still retaining its old French charm, yet renovated & fully equipped - experience the deeply historic, with all mod cons.

The apartment is also perfectly located, on the doorstep of Antibes' famous daily market & opposite the medieval rampart walls. Antibes Old Town (Vieil Antibes) has some of the best restaurants and cafe's in the south of France and is literally on your doorstep! The daily Provencal market sells fresh produce daily and there are regular antique and clothes markets on Saturdays and Thursdays.

Withing a short walk are the thriving maritime community all year round, stunning beaches, the famous Picasso Museum & Museum of Archeology.

You can also see some stunning architecture at the Cathedral, the Fort Carre or just walking around the cobbled streets of Antibes.

Make sure to visit Antibes' Marine land, which houses seals, whales and dolphins, for a fun family day out!

Please note:

1) As I am repeatedly asked this. The entire building was owned by Andre Massena, as his marital home. The street was also named after him for this reason (Cour Massena), as indicated by the plaque outside the apartment. In the 1900s, his home was split into 7 apartments. This apartment was infact previously his dining area. The apartment entrance is located on Antibes’s famous Provencal market place itself (see photo), but the windows face the residential alley (behind the market), meaning you gain the best location in Antibes, without the market noise.

2) The television currently possesses a good selection of international channels and a few English channels, it is also connected to a DVD player, should you wish to bring DVDs to watch on the television.

3)There is also High Speed Wi-Fi Broadband Internet available.

The Absinthe Bar is located a few metres around the corner.

The owners are incredibly friendly - do not hesitate to enquire about the history of the 'green fairy' as a drink. A wide variety of absinthes, pastis and wine available. The ambiance that is the “Absinthe Museum” is fantastic within the Roman foundations of old Antibes. With its piano bar ambiance, and the massive collection of hats to be tried and passed around.

We counted there are 36 restaurants within a 4 minutes walk of the apartment, with culinary delights and budgets to suit everyone. We have 4 personal favourites that are hidden gems in Antibes - which we would be happy to share with you if you book with us and you don't tell anyone! Mainly you will find that the regular locals go there and you will understand why when you taste the food.

Felt right at home

We were so lucky to have chosen An and Pontus appartment. It was perfect for us and everything was so clean and well looked after. It helped us to have a bathtub to bathe our baby, and baby cot. There was everything we could have needed, the kitchen was equipped. There was even a hairdryer in the bathroom. The location was probably the best of all, because we were in the middle of all the action in Antibes by the beautiful market but because the apartment entrance is behind the market, amazingly we did not get the noise, which we were worried about at first, as our baby is a light sleeper but he slept right through. There were thick wooden shutters, which also helped. We found ourselves a little lost on arrival but the manager was friendly and kind, she came to find us and helped us. She explained everything so nicely and answered our long list of questions. We loved Restaurant Mama Lui. It was an absolute pleasure to stay at this lovely apartment and we are pleased to recommend it. Thank you An, Pontus and to the manager (sorry couldn't remember her name)!

Amazing stay in this perfect get away

We booked this apartment for our 'mini-moon', we wanted a short break after our wedding. We couldn't have chosen better. From start to finish, An and Pontus were fantastic.

The apartment is spacious, clean, bright and right in the centre of Antibes. Perfect for exploring the local area, and further a field with the option to hire boats in Antibes or take the train anywhere along the Cote d'Azure.

Would recommend to anyone looking for a short break or an extended holiday. We'll be back!

Amazing get away in Antibes

We stayed at this apartment in early June for our 'mini-moon' and we couldn't have asked for a better place to relax after a hectic few weeks. The apartment is clean and bright, in the centre of town close to pretty much everything. The communication from An and Pontus was great from start to finish, and we were able to access the property as soon as we arrived in Antibes. We were greeted with a gorgeous welcome of cheese, bread and wine - just what we needed to kick start our break in France.

We will be looking to visit again!

Lovely place in old town Antibes!

We were welcomed in a nice way, with fresh flowers, a bottle of cold rose wine and some cheese&bread. All of us directly loved the apartment, it´s situation, the interior, the cleanness, all facilities such as wifi (a must with teenaged kids ;-).

The marketplace just outside the front door was visited every morning for shopping fruits, vegetables, bread etc.

There are soo many great restaurants nearby, and a lot of small boutiques.

The beaches just in walking distance and above mentioned things, makes this apartment the best of all we´ve tried at the french riviera.

Not to forget very easy communication with the owner of the apartment A & P, when booking.

Will recommend this flat for you who want to stay in a light, well situated, quite place while visiting the French Riviera. With the train station just a 10-15min walk away.

Antibes, famous for the second largest yacht marina in the world, with its infamous Millionaire’s Quay and home to some of the world's flashiest ’Mega Yachts’. With the Provencal market, Picasso museum, impregnable Fort Carre, medieval Ramparts and its own sheltered, sandy beach all within walking distance.

The Provencal fresh produce market runs every day in the summer and is not to be missed. In the evenings it turns into an outdoor restaurant scene, sharing the space with local artists’ stalls. Just behind the market is Antibes’s Cathedral - the setting for outdoor concerts in the summer months. The Old Town is full of wonderfully cobbled shopping streets, pavement cafes and countless restaurants.

Thursdays - market day, with thousands of stalls spread all over, selling anything from bikinis to carpets.

Saturdays - Place National is the setting for an Antiques market.
