Why Colin Thomas chose Eastern Market
Since being built in 1880 numerous Senators, Congressmen, artists, and academics have all resided at what is now Hill Flats. The building was previously used as a lecture hall and residence for scholars conducting research at the Library of Congress which is across the street. Due to the buildings immediate proximity to national monuments, the National Park Service and Washington DC has designated Hill Flats a Historic building and has registered it under the Capitol Overlay and Fine Arts District. This designation ensures that all preservation is conducted under the direction of the Architect of the Capitol. Hill Flats has been meticulously preserved while ensuring that it meets modern comforts. If you are looking for character and historic charm there is no substitute.

Great home base!
I stayed in this unit with my two kids age 19 and 14. It was a great location and amazing building. We loved staying in a historical brownstone to get the feel of the city. Close to the Capitol Building and the National Mall. Lots of restaurant choices nearby. We used a combo of walking, Capitol Bikeshare, and motorized scooters to get everywhere we needed to go except for Arlington National Cemetery.
The unit was comfortable and well stocked. One minor issue was resolved quickly through text with responsive owner.
The unit is as pictured. Nothing overly fancy, but definitely comfortable and clean. Keep our n mind this is a historical building with historic quirks and qualities.
Would definitely rent from this owner again.
Great price for area. Bath not convenient to bedroom; it was off kitchen, not enough dishes and silverware and no internet for the entire weeks stay. Maintenance issues were fixed within 1 hour.
Neighborhood was great!
The location of this property is awesome. There are so many places to eat and amazing things to see within walking distance of this flat. The apartment was clean and the bed was very comfortable.
Location was excellent, apartment was clean and comfortable.
Great stay at this location, apartment was clean and comfortable. Would have given a higher rating but the internet was down for our whole stay. Lucky for us we had phones to set up as hot spots.
The owner should install dimmer switches on the lights for a better overall experience.
Thanks Michael- we had a lot of trouble figuring out the problem with the internet. We tried to reset, it call out Comcast, etc. Eventually, we determined the router was bad. We bought a new, stronger router that is working very well now. I hope you come again!
Perfect place to walk to all the sites.
The condo was clean, stocked with everything. Very satisfied.
This one of the most central and historic location in Washington DC on the first residential block across the street from the Library of Congress and Folgers Shakespeare Theater. The US Capitol and US Supreme Court are a short walk. The building is just a few blocks away from Eastern Market/Union Station/Capitol South metro stops in addition to numerous bus lines.
There are dozens of restaurants, cafes, and bar's within a few minute walk. Capitol Bike Share is located nearby. Walkscore is 94.
